Great especially for side sleepers!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was worried about buying this at first for the high price tag. I recently starting sleeping over at my girlfriends and her neighbors are loud all night blasting music so I needed something to block that out. I tried earbuds before but that hurt my ears so bad because I'm a side sleeper. But these work so great even for me. They are flat so when the side of my head is against the pillow it doesn't poke in anymore and they're very comfortable. So far after about a week they last all night. They'll be at 40% after 8 hours. Pros: Great battery life Don't hurt my ears Good for side sleepers Do a good job muting sounds Cons: Has been difficult to get used to having something in my ear all night They did fall out the first night and I thought I lost one. They haven't fallen out again since They are quieter than I expected but dependent on the sound No way to use your own sounds

Jury is still out on these, almost there but bulky
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Similar to other Bose products, I always give them a try because of their reputation and design. Having a partner that snores can do damage to any relationship and trying to find the happy medium between moving to another room and finding some solution to cover that noise is a welcome change. Bring on this device which claims to not only block out noise but provide other noise to fill in. The app syncs nicely to these and you put them in and drift off to sleep. The problem I see is, I couldnt get used to the design of these sitting in my ears similar to an ear bud all night. I mean they seem to curve to fit the ear, but I sleep on my sides at times and they didnt seem to conform to that way of sleeping. I did like the various noises you could choose from in the app like rain and white noise, however, I still am not used to having these in the ears for that long period of time. I am still trying them and getting used to how they fit but not sure. I guess since they are the only type of tool out there to block out noise at night, I would sort of recommend, but still unsure.

Where's the volume control?
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This review is based on my experience so far - if the newest replacement set changes anything, I will post a new one. I had a pair of the original Sleepbuds, which I gave away. They worked, as in they played calm sounds, white noise, etc., but they were too deep for my ears. Every time I rolled over, I woke up. So away they went. When the Sleepbuds II arrived, I was happy to see that they were noticeably shallower. The fit, at least for me, was also better, making them far more comfortable. Charging, pairing, etc., is all quite simple. The overall design is quite elegant, from the case to the buds themselves, although the case is surprisingly large. In theory, my biggest use for these would be as a private alarm; pre-pandemic I would frequently have to get up early to catch a flight, a routine I will return to once again. This wakes up my partner, so having low-level sounds in my ear, with a private alarm in the morning, seems like a great solution. That is, if I could get them to a volume level lower than a Stones concert. And it's hard to sleep through a Stones concert. The issue isn't that they're automatically so loud, it's that the volume controls don't work, at least on my sets so far. Yes, sets, as in plural. So far, we're over two weeks into this experiment and about to try a third pair. My saga follows... With the first pair connected, I settled in to listen to some background sounds while I took a nap. Except for that volume issue. The phone volume button affected the ringer volume but not the buds. The sound level controls in the app did nothing. So I followed the instructions on the Bose web site. I deleted and re-installed the app. I rebooted my phone. I reset the case and buds and started over. Still a Stones concert. I went to an older phone I had sitting around, went through the same process. Still no volume control. I contacted support via their "faster" text option... and they responded over 24 hours later. After three days of back and forth with them, they decided to replace the unit. The new unit arrived quickly, and I deleted and reinstalled the app. Same problem. I reset the unit. Same problem. Second phone. Same problem. Finally, I tried the phone that was connected to the original Sleepbuds, the ones I gave away, where the volume controls work. But not with these. And so, here I am, waiting for the third pair to show up, not feeling particularly confident that I'll have the babbling brook without the Marshall stack.

Slight improvements but maintains the pros.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had the orginal Sleepbuds and I enjoyed them. Unfortunately, they stopped charging and pairing and I resorted back to foam ear plugs. I decided to give these a shot. They’re still surprisingly comfortable to wear all night. Plus, they haven’t fallen out. All the basic functions remained unchanged, the best I can tell. These buds appear to be slightly longer but not thicker. Maybe just slightly thinner in depth compared to the older model. What I do appreciate is that they updated the magnet and prong. It makes it easier for the buds to align correctly and thus charge. I found several times on the originals that when I thought the buds were charged, only to find out it was off a prong and didn’t charge. I’m currently having issues with the app. I can’t download sounds from the library. I have to go into phone-free mode and select my sound. It’s annoying because the sound that’s loaded as the default is not my preference. I’ve unpaired the buds and uninstalled the app, but no luck yet.

Good….but lacking
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The size of these is great and a few of the sounds arent bad …but the majority of them honestly dont sound that great. Very artificial. Also, Bose had said that they’d be releasing new audio in the future, but of course never have. They don’t even release updates! I really expected more from a company like Bose considering the high price. I probably would not buy these again unless the proce was drastically reduced.

Very comfortable and calming for sleep!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As a college student whose trying to prioritize sleep this year, the Bose Sleepbuds have by far been the most helpful in adopting this habit. I usually have a hard time falling asleep due to a lot of noise around where I live but luckily these sleep buds are nice masking so whenever I go to bed, all I hear is music from the buds, The bose sleep app comes with a good amount pre-downloaded calming songs that have helped me fall asleep within the first 15 minutes of putting them on and I also use these sounds to meditate! One thing that I was worried about was how they were going to stay on all night with the tossing and turning but I was shocked that they in fact did! The buds themselves are smaller than average buds and are made of squishy material and fit perfectly within your ears. I love how comfortable the design on these sleep buds are even when you lay on them, you can hardly feel them. They are easy to set up: they come charged, so all you have to do is scan the barcode in the package, download the bose sleep app on your phone and connect via Bluetooth, and boom! You're set to bed! Worth Every Cent
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’m an extremely light sleeper/insomniac with a husband that has taken up the hobby of snoring. I also have a freight train in my backyard and a big dog that makes big dog noises just by existing. Time for a nap? There always seems to be leaf blowers or lawn mowers outside my window. Hello, Bose Sleepbuds II! These are the most expensive ear plugs I have ever bought. I rationalized by seeing it as a medical expense, which they have proven to be. Amazing. Worth every cent. They don’t play music. Just a wide variety of continuous white noise and ambient sounds. And the most important thing: I can hardly feel them in my ears even while sleeping on my side. Noise canceling AirPods didn’t do it. Like all previous plugs it was a princess and the pea situation. You can even set an alarm to go off in them because you won’t hear your actual alarm…but you can also control the volume as to hear what’s going on as well. You can also allow phone calls to come in. So dear fellow light sleepers that are at their wits end: I recommend giving these a try. I can’t remember the last time I had this much rest!

They work with complications.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I received a set of these for valentines day. I am a very light sleeper and my wife is a very heavy snorer who forgets to use her CPAP regularly. After 6 months I thought I would do a review because I wanted an actually usage review, not a "I'm sure they'll be great..." So installing the app and pairing up to my Samsung Note no problems. Using them was easy and they were actually comfortable. I have tried sleeping with all kinds of ear plugs over the years and they tend to fall out but these have stayed put. Charging/battery life- it is supposed to last for approx 10 hrs. (assumption is if you forget to stick them in or they don't set in the case juuuust right they wont charge). I have never ever gotten more than a 9 hour period of use. If I take them out and don't put them in the charger even after a couple hours they are dead the next night. I have followed the suggestion of resetting them (using the paperclip in the hole trick and no improvement. And on the subject of sitting in the right position in the case the magnets help guide them in but it still happens that if you don't look to make sure the lights come on that will be the time they wont lock in. When I stick them in my ears and open the app to start them about 10% of the time it won't find one of the buds. for some reason it is almost always the left one for me. I have to take it out and stick it back in the case and remove it after the light comes on. It will usually find it then. I rotate a lot during sleep. There are times as I lay on my side that my head/ear/sleep buds align with the pillow in such a way that I wont be able to hear the white noise in that ear until I shift a bit. If the app is not turned on and they are in my ears as I am getting ready for bed they still do a pretty good job of blocking noise. I have to take them out just to hear my wife right next to me. They clean easily thankfully because wearing them for a night will turn up your ear wax issues a bit because they fit snugly. The price point is a bit high and I probably would not have bought them for myself but I am looking at possibly getting them for my adult son if I can ever find them on sale.

Is That Silence I Hear?
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I tried the previous model and was mostly satisfied. My biggest complaint at the time was the battery that would run out before I woke up. That caused some disruption in my sleep a few times. So I couldn’t wait until they came up with another model with the issue was solved. So glad to see that this one lasts way passed my wake up time. This device is way more comfortable and useful than any ear plugs ever invented. It was so then and still is with the new model. All you need to do is to find the right music/white noise for you and it will let you sleep as if there was nothing in your ears except the audio. My ultra-sensitive ears have thanked me every day. Again, this is so light and comfortable even if you are a slide sleeper like myself. Regular buds hurt my ears even when I’m not laying down but not these. This is so good. It masks and blocks distracting noises while it still let you wake up if something more serious happens. Just keep it at a reasonable loudness so you don’t become totally unaware of emergencies. The previous case was good and nicely designed but the new one is even better because it magnetically keeps the buds on the right position for charging. It also charges it a few times, which is great when you’re traveling and have no available outlet for your charger. Bose sponsored a clinical trial that confirmed it aids in providing a good night sleep. I don’t care about the study because to me what matters is my experience and it did work for me extremely well. The secret is on the design and lightness that other buds can’t even get close. I just wish Bose could make such a light bud that worked like their QuietComfort model, which is built for everyday music, but it probably is technically impossible to accomplish such a feat for that type of application, while keeping the same quality. But for the therapeutic purpose, this is unbeatable in every way. Congratulations Bose! You’ve started a new type of health device, which is so important for sleep quality.

Wait until they are cheaper.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Okay. Not really worth the cost. Pros: tiny, fits well, good at blocking sound, good battery life. Cons: you can’t import or somehow make your own sounds so you are stuck with the limited sounds Bose provides.

Posted .Hi, thank you for reaching out. I am glad you enjoy the small size, great sound and the battery life.
I understand your concern about not being able to import custom sounds to your sleepbuds. In order to achieve a form factor small enough to be comfortable for sleeping, and accommodate a battery that can support sound playback for an entire night, we made the conscious design decision not to stream audio to Sleepbuds. Instead the audio is stored locally on each earbud.

Excellent blocks out snoring
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For those of you who are getting stuck at 23% on the first charge, the product is not defective. Reset your charging case. Mine did the same and using push pin, thumbnail resetting the case my buds then immediately displayed 100% the units are not defective it is software that can simply be reset. The buds stay in your ears all night with no movement. The default noise masking sounds block out heavy snoring

Best Product for a good night sleep
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love these sleep buds so so much. Being in college I always have noisy neighbors or roommates and these help me block out their sounds and help me get a good night's rest. They are super comfortable to the point where I forget they are in my ear. My favorite thing to do with these is play noises through them using the app. This product is such a game-changer for me and has really improved my quality of sleep. Product is good..the app is not
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The buds are well made and very comfortable. The set up is a breeze although changing the ear tips can be a challenge.. there are no instructions for that. My big complaint is the app you are required to use...it sucks! (2.7 rating...i can see why) your choices are very limited. They are very short loops, very monotonous and some actually have a pause at the end of the loop so the sound is not continuous which tends to be annoying. The ocean loops are merely white noise. You cannot mix sounds...even the basic apps can do that. And don't even think about using the alarm! You have 5 choices of bells that come at you full blast! I almost that a heart attack! The fact that you can't use other apps is a bummer. So, before you buy this, check out the app and see for yourself. And BOSE. . .please take all the constructive criticism in the reviews and revamp your app! The buds are great but the app is a bummer

Frustrating
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I received these as a gift and can't leave a review on the Bose site without being verified, so this is the next best place I guess. These work great... when they want to work. Otherwise, they are absolutely infuriating - like, can you imagine a more frustrating scenario: trying to get to ready to sleep in a noisy place, already v cranky, long day at a soulless job, then these things NOT BEING CHARGED because the case can't hold a charge (you basically have to leave the case plugged in 24/7), or the case appears to be fully charged but the BUDS ARE NOT SOMEHOW(???), or your gd phone can't recognize them even though they are IN YOUR EARS 12" AWAY (by comparison how can airpods be so user friendly and intuitive, it's like the same technology). When they work, they're great - you'll never wake up from external noises, such as a snoring partner. They're generally comfortable to sleep in, even with your ear against the pillow. But most of the time, I want to chuck them against the wall at bedtime. In addition, for how much they cost... they really can't be used to listen to anything except the 'soothing sounds' accompanying app? Really? I like to fall asleep to podcasts or YT videos on my phone most nights. And the 'white noise' sounds are very nice but the app should be a bonus, not the only thing you can access with these. Try something else if you're on the fence about these.

Posted .Hi there,
It's great to see that you get a good nights sleeps when using them. We understand you would like to use them with other audio sources. The sounds are stored on the buds and not streamed over Bluetooth. This is to ensure the battery lasts all night, and so they can be used in phone-free mode
https://bose.life/3rnaM6Z.
The app not detecting the Sleepbuds can be related to the earbuds not leaving charge mode when removed. This can be resolved by following the troubleshooting https://bose.life/3jOxJMp available. Ensuring the case is able to charge the buds will help, as they use the case battery to charge and the case charges from the wall power. We have a guide https://bose.life/369JGZK to help with charging concerns.

Excellent quality
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I think the quality of this product is excellent and it does a great job of blocking sounds. I found the app straightforward to use and often use the alarm feature. The buds do not slip out of my ears at all during the night but the first night I wore them, I noticed the angle of pillow or firmness can impact how it feels when you are sleeping on your ear - this would be an issue for any ear bud so I don't think this is a deal breaker.

Great device, questionable QC
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Does what it's supposed to do, and does it well. Subtracting one star because one of the buds stopped working just after the warranty expired and the only solution is to get a refurbished replacement unit for $125.

Comfortable 'buds, if they connect.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Right out of the box, these ear buds were secure and comfortable to wear, even when sleeping on my side. The selection of noise-masking sounds that are available (4 are pre-loaded) should be able to appease most people. Initial set up and pairing to my Samsung J7 went smoothly but soon after using the 'buds in "phone-free" mode, they stopped connecting to it. I tried all of the corrective actions listed in the forums but nothing worked. I was then able to pair with a Samsung S5e so I must have an issue with my phone. So much for modern technology. Plusses: Compact, comfortable and secure in the ear. Sounds are soothing and effective at blocking outside noises. Cons: Connectivity issues (might be issue with MY phone but definitely frustrating). Battery life not as good as other wireless earbuds. Price - $250 - Way too much for what you get.

Return Policy Limits Trial
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Long-time Bose user, and I was VERY excited to get my hands on the SleepBuds; however, am disappointed. Great noise masking and relative comfort, but found myself pulling them out at night and waking with ear discomfort. Unfortunately, I didn’t make the decision that I was dissatisfied until about day 20, 5 days following my return/exchange window. Had I bought them directly through Bose, I would’ve had a 90 day trial period. Due to the specific nature of this product, I recommend a direct purchase for more flexibility.
