Would not scan more than 1 paper at a time if any one of the papers had the slightest crease. Way too sensitive for what I needed.

Works great. I’d buy it again do not buy the Epson

Its good scanner, except: How it possible, wirless scanner can not connect if your PC connect under 5G. For scan, I need switch connection from 5G to 2.4, terrible.

This was a really disappointing purchase and return because of our cheaply made and purely designed it was. It would not connect to my computer or the wifi network.

This scanner got great reviews, but I found it very confusing to set up. I ended up returning it.

This scanner is quite nifty. Sleek in design. Not to big or bulky taking up a lot of room on your desktop. It scans single or double sided documents in a single scan. It's quoted as doing 25 pages per minute and when I tested speed it was pretty much spot on. The 2.8 inch touchscreen display panel is bright and colorful, easy to read and work with. Clear cut no confusion as how to do what you need to do or where you want to send your scanned info. One thing I loved is the ability to scan to wireless devices. When everyone uses their phone like a lifeline nowadays it's nice to know you have everything you need right on hand. Overall It's portable, a breeze to work with and works effortlessly. Would highly recommend

Despite multiple attempts to connect the device to my network and my pc it did not work.

The Brother ADS-1700W scanner is a portable scanner with robust features. The scanner has an LCD touchscreen that is easily readable. Setup of this machine was a seamless process as I chose Wi-Fi setup. The recognition of my Wi-Fi was picked up and synced easily to my desktop PC. This scanner has great features such as: o Duplex scanning o 20 Sheet Automatic Document Feeder o Plastic ID card slot o Scan to PC, E-mail, Network FTP/SFTP and USB o Wireless connectivity o USB Scans are clear and crisp as I adjusted my machine to 600dpi in order to achieve great scan results. I am pleased to report that Brother did not disappoint in this category. I will note, I have several of Brother’s printers as I have found them to integrate well with the technology that I use. The only adjustment I had to make was the upgrade from PaperPort version12 to 14 which is the latest version. I have elected this program to house all of my scans. I was able to cut and paste the older scans from Paper12 to 14 seamlessly. I highly recommend Brother as they manufacture reliable products with robust performance and features at economical pricing. Also, their products are user-friendly and easy to integrate across multiple platforms. They have a slogan, “Brother at your Side” which is factually correct!

I have a large Brother desktop printer but I needed a more compact version for my consulting business. I need to take it the road to print and scan documents. I couldn't wait to open up the box as I was able to use it the first day I got it. I was able to immediately pair it with my Brother printing app, my phone and my Macbook Pro. I scanned both color and B&W documents and was able to print out very good quality copies of my presentations. You can scan up to 20 documents at a time which helps with contracts and other large documents. This printer has the option for wireless or ethernet connectivity and has a high speed USB 3.0 capability. The printer also features a touchscreen display just like my large desktop printer from Brother. You can also set up the printer to scan to present destination. This device is lightweight for the amount of productivity it provides. So far, it seems durable which is important for being a portable device. After years of using the leading printer brand only to be disappointed time after time, I am now a fan of Brother printers. I highly-recommend this printer.

So I've been using this scanner for work for about a year now and let me tell you, it is easily the one thing I can't live without. I work at a recruiting company and need to scan at minimum, 30 pages a day. After a year, it's still working like a dream. I've installed the Brother software on 2 different computers no sweat. It's both super fast and portable- I can easily place it in any drawer when I'm finished using it. I will say that the ONLY con is that it doesn't come with tray, so sometimes the papers come flying out. I just fix this issue by using an end tray.

I love the compact size... folds up and tucks away nicely on my desk when not being used. It took a few minutes to get it set up but then it worked flawlessly. I can use my mobile phone or tablet with it too. Color screen is nice. It works just as advertised and is helping us to stay organized at home. mostly scanning receipts right now. If you had a home business this would be great for you.

Connecting the Brother ADS-1700W with my computer was simple. From the Brother Solutions Centers’ support and download page I selected my product category, selected my product and then selected the OS used on my computer. At the Brother Machine Installation page, I installed Icons Brother iPrint & Scan and Brother Utilities. Additional downloads for PaperPort & Power PDF are available and there is a Scanner & Camera Installation Wizard for connecting an external camera source. Documents scanned on single or both sides and were saved to my computer’s hard drive in JPG format. Documents can open with a variety of programs, but I preferred converting to Adobe PDF format from the drop down list. The Brother ADS-1700W delivers a high performance for scanning and saving documents. Documents can then be copied or sent over the internet or with a phone via text attachment. I installed the Brother iPrint & Scan app from Google Play and depending on the phone being used there are Editing tools, Fax from phone, Fax preview to receive faxes stored on your machine from your phone, copy preview allowing for the previewing & editing before copying and machine status. My Google Pixel phone scanned & connected with the Brother ADS-1700W and displayed only Scan & Machine Status available. I also installed the Brother SupportCenter app from Google Play and gained access on my phone to Product Setup, FAQ & Troubleshooting, QR Code Reader, Manuals, Supplies and Contact.

The Brother ADS-1700W scanner was a little difficult to set up - only because I wish it came with a USB cord and it did not give a prompt to download iPrint&Scan software. Once the program was downloaded and the scanner connected however, this scanner proved to be very fast and easy to use. The two sided scanning is a great time saving feature. I wish it had a little better document feeder system since once in a while it doesn't go down into the scanner completely and gives a "document not found" type message. Also - would be helpful to have a front document catch. Still, overall I give this scanner 4 stars for it's speed, features and great software.

Scanning documents is starting to become a thing with everything going to the cloud and everything becoming digital. This scanner is the best I have ever worked with. I've worked with a few from a few different company but Brother seems to have a close grip on things. I recommend this to anyone professional or personal.

I absolutely love my brother scanner ads1700W it does everything it says it does and as well if not better than bigger scanners. I love mine so much I bought another one for a coworker for Christmas
