Perfectly Adequate (So Better than Most)
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wanted a duplex scanner with sheet feeder and wi-fi capability that was in the <$200 price point. I’ve scanned a few hundred pages so far and this scanner has done everything as-advertised (duplex / sheet feeder / wi-fi). The Brother Software has room for improvement, but it gets the job done. Perhaps it’s a commentary on the printer/scanner market that an adequate product is cause for elation - but I’m pleased with my purchase. It’s important to note that the scanner does have to be plugged into a power outlet with the included cable so it’s not quite as portable as some advertising might have you believe. My main hesitation was a review stating that multi-page document scans resulted in each page saved as an individual file (which would be a deal breaker for me). Fortunately, when saving in PDF format multi-page scans can be saved as a single file. Thank goodness!

Has everything I was looking for in a scanner!!
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wanted to thin out my personal files and save some space. I had a flatbed scanner in the past, but I wanted one with an automatic feeder that would scan both sides of the page in one pass. I also wanted it to be good quality, reasonably fast and reasonably priced. A tall order, I know, but this little gem is perfect. It's compact and folds down when not in use, is easy to set up and wirelessly connects to the computer. The document scans are crisp and sharp and in some cases are easier to read than the original. I am very satisfied with my purchase and would highly recommend to anyone looking for a easy to use personal scanner.

Very Nice Little Scanner
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This scanner has been a pleasure to use during the few weeks I've owned it. It's very quiet, takes up very little table space compared to typical flatbed scanners, and can scan up to 20 pages using its built-in document feeder. In addition, it automatically scans both sides of a document in one pass, deleting any blank pages. This makes scanning multiple page two-sided documents a breeze. It works best with the Brother application, as I had trouble getting it to work reliably with my Mac's Preview app. By comparison, the free Brother app works flawlessly. It also allows you to save scans directly to online cloud accounts like Microsoft's OneDrive, as well as to your computer. My only complaint is that documents feed through so quickly that pages -- especially the first one or two -- will sometimes zoom through at a crooked angle. The scanner has an automatic skew correction feature to help minimize this, but it sometimes results in the bottom portion of a scan being skewed anyway. I found that using 400 dpi resolution solves this problem because pages are fed through more slowly - the only downside to this is that the document file size is bigger at 400 dpi, and it takes longer to scan them. The unit feels very solid and should last a long time. It's a bit pricey, but you get what you pay for with mechanical products. I've had very good experiences with Brother laser printers and scanners in recent years - they make exceptionally high quality products. If you need a very good well-built scanner that doesn't take up half your table or desk, it's hard to beat this model.

Good Add-On Scanner
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Easy to set up and operate. Small unit. A couple of negatives... Papers to be scanned aren't held in place well to prevent them from being fed through on an angle without standing right there next to it. Second negative is that there is no tray or holder that the scanned documents.

Worth every single penny
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was recommended this from someone and I'm so glad they did. I was using my Epson printer that was also a scanner but it was so slow and always jammed. This thing is so quick papers were flying out of it all over. The downloaded software for the computer works great. Super easy to use. I love that you can add or delete pages before saving it. My only complaint would be the slats that move to adjust the paper size are flimsy and always falling over.

Portable Scanning Workhorse! Family Favorite.
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Fast, easy and reliable scanner from a company that I've grown to trust. I already a scanner with by Brother HL-L2395DW, but we love the portable ease of use. This has been a workhorse of late, and the software is easy to setup and use. The separate ID/Business card function has really come in handy. Just be sure to give it a few minutes to cool down if you're doing a ton of scanning like we do. Another Brother purchase that the family is pleased with.

Good for its price, but some caveats
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We picked this up to do some bulk scanning of documents for my wife, related to her business. We've already got an all-in-one device from Brother, but it doesn't have a feeder, which was a real problem and thus drove the need for this as a second device. This scanner works well (fast, reasonably good quality scans) and is easily moved to different locations as needed. However, there are a couple of key caveats: * Paper feeding can sometimes slip, even with standard 8.5x11, leaving some artifacts along the sides, and clearly misaligned content. * The device will not scan directly to cloud services, but instead must have a PC/Mac on the network with software running that it will use to relay the content. As a result, you need to make sure that the s/w is installed on a machine that will actually be around and turned on when you use it (e.g., a desktop machine), rather than on a portable device that belongs to someone else and might not be in the house (or at least turned on).

Brother's little scanner is a fine device!
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought a second one of these for my home office. These scanners run lots of ways, different configurations are possible, but I love using the Brother app on my phone and saving all my scans to a dedicated Scan folder in Google Drive. Love these small but powerful scanners

Quick and easy to setup.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Scanner arrived as stated in just two days. Brothers instruction were easy to follow and I had to working with my Windows 10 PC. It is very quick and copies both sides at once. Copying cards, like driver licenses, caused jams when using the card slot but when used with the main feed the scan fine.

Awesome easy to use scanner
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got this scanner to be able to downsize our hoard of paper. We now have high quality digital versions of all our important documents and pictures. The scanner is easy to use, simple to set up, and produces high quality scans. Very portable as well. Only thing I didn’t like was that it didn’t come with a usb cable to hardwire to the computer.

||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Good scanner for my work at home office. Small, easy to use and set up. When scanning, be careful to make sure documents are straight or the machine will not scan the entire document!
