The toner that came with it ran out really fast and the new toner isn't cheap (45+tax). I purchased this for our home office and homeschooling but I would not recommend it because of the connectivity issues. I want to be able to print without having to fuss with the printer every time. Now, a year later it's going to the recycler because it won't install on my computers.

Posted .Hi, I am sorry you are experiencing an issue with connecting your printer to your computer. Stated page yields for genuine Brother cartridges are based on the ISO testing standards. The number of pages that can be printed with a cartridge is affected by several factors, including paper size, number of pages per print job, amount of print on each page, font size, and print content (graphics, charts, etc.). Print jobs with large text fonts, graphics, charts, and/or large amount of solid coverage (black or any given color) will use much more toner and will shorten the life of the toner cartridge. Like other reviews and many folks online, the printer has trouble waking from its "deep sleep" to print. I am continuing to search for a solution but be aware of that issue (which apparently affects a lot of the new brother printers). Solution can be as simple as turning machine back on but sometimes you must restart and sometimes pull the plug and then restart. A good machine but if I can't find a solution, will be forever annoying.
