Impossible Networking and terrible UI
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This printer is the worst designed printer ever to hit the market. It has a fake power button on the top that literally does nothing. Holding the button does nothing. tapping it once or 100 times? Nothing. THere is no Ethernet jack, only an old-timey USB A port and a power cable that it permanently connected. Don't think you can unplug the cable from the back of the printer to reset it. You have to unplug from the wall or the surge protector just to reset it. It is an aggressive sleeper and includes Deep Sleep mode which simply means--won't work mode. You have manually wake it. There's a WIFI switch that does not work. You'd like to think it was WPS, but it's not. If you use the Network Setup Wizard menu option from the Network Setup menu, it asks for your password once you select your SSID. Granted entering 16 characters using an up and down arrow (that you can't hold to fast forward through the numbers then symbols, then the capital letters then the lowercase letters every time you select a letter. The interface is so terrible. Printing reports only works for the first repot. The second report: Out of Memory. Then it suggests you hold the GO button for 2 seconds. Which puts in in sleep mode. There is no excuse for this printer to be so terrible. It is inexcusable that the networking features are so pathetic that the printer cannot be connected to the network without days of work. Even the Tech Support staff could not explain why it wouldn't connect. Well, they couldn't explain why they keep calling it wifi-direct and not WPS. And yes, I asked if it thought WIFI Direct was the default setting and they said, no it's just want they called it when they meant WPS. Do yourself a favor and avoid this printer at all costs. Brother should be ashamed.
No, I would not recommend this to a friendBrand response from Brother
Posted .We are sorry to hear that your experience with the Brother HL-L2395DW has not been favorable so far and we'd like to help. This model does offer a 10Base-T/100Base-TX Ethernet port for a wired network. WPS for wireless setup is also available through the touchscreen menus. The printer will automatically respond to any print job that is sent to it even if the printer is in power save mode or 'sleep mode', if there is communication between the printer and the device that you are printing from. If the issue persists, please contact Brother Customer Service directly at https://www.brother-usa.com/brother-support

It only lasted 3 years with light printing...
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This printer was excellent until it wasn't. I had this printer for 3 years and 6 weeks. I work from home but don't print that much (a few hundred sheets per year). It was always a reliable printer/scanner until today. It won't power up. I tried switching it to several different outlets without success. I now have extra ink cartridges for a printer that doesn't work. My last 3 Brother laser printers were workhorses but the quality has declined.
