Needed a printer last minute for school. Settled on the Brothers from past experience with their performance and longevity. A quick search also showed their replacement cartridges were quite a bit less than other brands. It arrived one day earlier than scheduled. It's all ready to plug and go with simple set up instructions. I did have issues locating the printer on my computer, but I think the problem was with my PC not the printer. Thankfully I live with an IT guy and the problem was resolved quickly. Printer works great, decent quality, and is very quiet. The only I wish it could have afforded the model with color capabilities.

Picked this Brother printer after our irritable Epson Artisan finally croaked and it's already well on its way to paying for itself just with the savings of ink (FYI: Inkjets will use all color ink cartridges even if you primarily print in black and white, thus ensuring you're forced to regularly buy full color packs in addition to the black you actually need). We're still on the starter toner even after 488 pages and ~11 months and It's quite zippy on the printing while the double-sided printing function lets us get the most out of our paper. Scan and copy functions have also been quite effective. Will definitely get another Brother printer when the time comes to replace this one.

I wanted a good quality black and white laser printer, something that would reliably print non-photo forms and such. So far I am pleased with this printer on all counts. Setup was fast and easy, the price was not so far over comparable inkjets, and the printing was high quality. So far I would recommend this printer.

Tired of buying ink tanks every few weeks at ridiculous prices? If you print mostly in black and white, then this is a smart purchase for you. Very pleased with the quality. It is worth looking into. You’ll end up buying it and won’t regret it.

Once this was setup, it was easy to use and printed great. Love that it can print wirelessly from my phone/tablet.

We were looking for a simple printer that was cost effective but printed decent quality documents (black and white was sufficient). This prints doubled-sided, and has a scan feature. Both were simply bonuses to us! The sales person could not have been more helpful and his recommendation was certainly spot-on. We've been thoroughly pleased with this purchase.

I didn't know much about laser printers when I first bought this printer, and was hesitant about getting a printer that only printed in black and white. My expectations were more than exceeded! The ink levels last forever, and I don't miss printing in color at all! The ink cost is way down from the ink jet printers! And it is fast. Highly recommend!
