We were sick of the expensive inks and different color cartridges you had to get with our old printer. Giving up color and getting this was so worth it. We have had this for 9 months and still haven't had to do a single thing and the resolution is wonderful. Scanner also works great.

We’ve had several printers over the years, but this one has to have the least user-friendly set up. We’ve had lots of problems and after several weeks still can print only on one of our networks. Luckily we do not use a printer much. Print quality seems fine. The copy function works well. But wireless printing has been a challenge.

The laser printer part is excellent and that part is to be expected. What impresses me the most is how easy it was to get the wireless part working even though we have a mix of Mac and PCs we have. I even liked the software that comes with this product. Great Job Brother, you did it again!

    Choice B&W laser printer/scanner w/o auto-feed

I'm several weeks into use, but to date I find this to be an excellent choice for a B&W laser printer with manual scanning if you don't need (or want) a document auto-feed feature. My usage level is light, home-based, less than 10 pages per day. If you're looking for auto-feed, then the corresponding Brother model is MFC-L2750DW. The absence of auto-feed reduces the machine height somewhat and provides a basically flat top surface along with a smoother opening of the top to access the glass scanning surface (for manual scanning) compared with the MFC-L2750DW, when I compared the two models side-by-side. The printer works with a Window 10 driver (I believe) for easy printing. In any case, after installing the Brother software, I have been able to print directly from open documents without having to open separately a Brother program. The printing is a bit noisy, but it's nice that the paper delivery remains securely inside the machine body (as portrayed in pictures) rather than shooting out as is often the case with less expensive machines that are strictly printers. Regarding the scanner: I don't think there is a built-in Windows driver. I installed the Brother program, which has multiple options for different types of documents and colors. The program though does seem a bit more cumbersome to operate compared with the Epsom scanning program that I used previous (on an Epsom machine before that machine became inoperative). It does have more features, though. (Remember that while you can scan a color document to create a color electronic document, you of course can only print in B&W.) I've not used the copy function. Thus over all I rate this 5-star so far, as the shortcomings I've encountered so far are based more on comparison with an ideal standard rather than representing any technical issues.

Has worked well, works easily with cell phones (Android) over WiFi. Only occasionally has there been an issue with the scanner, suspect it occurs with the W10 updates, remove device, and add and it works fine. Like the double side printing function to save paper (not so much for paper, just less paper). Never a feed problem, print quality is very good. Have the USB cable to PC for the scanner function, otherwise run only wireless.

Why pay for color printers when everything I print is in black and white? Also, inkjet printers cost too much for ink and often dry up when not used a great deal. Wonderful option to replace my old beast of an HP at a great value.
