    Mostly good… but

    This printer gets used for scanning and copying primarily. It has worked well thus far but it can often be difficult to read the panel. And, sometimes takes a bit of fiddling whenever it needs an update. If you’re patient and don’t mind taking the time, it has been reliable and efficient.

    Great for the price, harder to set up than I thought. Color quality isn’t fabulous but it still works.

    If buy, definitely get the extended warranty

    Very fragile, and needs head cleaning a lot before printing. Head cleaning also uses a significant amount of ink. If you don’t move around a lot, it stays in one place for years, and don’t print very often this may be a good choice for you.

    My experience with this printer is far different from these great reviews. My last Brother lasted for years so I bought this one to replace it. This one will either error on a print request and then 5 minutes later start the printing, or not at all. I got it to finally print something today and it won't stop printing it. Emptied the paper tray twice trying to get the memory or w/e to clear out, finally just yanked the plug. Do yourself a favor nd look elsewhere for a printer.

    Do Not Buy This Brother Printer

    This is the worst printer I have ever owned. I unplugged it tonight and will never use it again. It can't print straight, no matter how many times I have used the built in alignment function. What good is a printer that can't print straight. It is not a heavily used printer, after 1 year I am still on the first set of cartridges.

    Difficult to Operate

    Many problems with this printer and still not completely resolved. was printing, scanning blank pages. Tried to get help on Brother website; no help at all. Geek squad finally able to help with printing and scanning; still not able to copy. Geek squad gave me Brother's phone number so I can call them, just haven't had time to do that yet. You have to enter a password and the printer is not allowing it. I may be returning this.

    Great for PC's, A pain with IOS devices

    I have had good luck with Brother printers in the past that have worked for several years. The quality is good and it prints well. The problem that I had was that I could only print PDF's or pic from Apple products. I called Brother and they had no solution for me. They said that their software isn't compatible with more recent IOS versions.

    Slow and poor quality. No photo available because we gave it to another family member. We wasted much time on the phone with a Brother Tech Rep and finally got it to work properly.

    DON'T buy this printer! My goodness, when was this thing designed?! The keyboard interface on the front is from the early 1990s. Trying to set anything up--the clock, the wifi, your password (which must be entered every time you make any change or need to reset after a power outage, etc.) is like trying to compose a text on a 1990s flip phone with no keyboard. Total nightmare. Wish I could exchange it, but I'll just have to wait until it dies, which I pray will be soon. I can't justify spending money on a better printer while this one still (eventually) prints.

    Terrible. Worked just a couple of small print jobs. Contacted Brother and they said they'd send me a new after their "system migration". 3 weeks later I'm still w/o printer and Borther says they'll get in touch with me when they're system migration is complete. No thanks. Best Buy did take care of the return though. Can't even give the product 1 star

    Won't make it 2 years. My print heads clog constantly and it can't print 10 pages in a row without having issues. I thought brother was higher quality and economical but so far I'm very unhappy.

    This printer was delivered July 28. Sometime at the end ofAugust I started having problems with it feeding the paper through. I became frustrated and just stopped using it. I really needed it so last night I went through the cleaning process and every piece of paper comes out crumpled and the print is terrible.

    wasting my valuable papers doesn't print both side

    at first it was okay but for some reason I couldn't print both side of paper. eventhough I checked everywhere to ensure that it is printed both side. it still doesn't print both sides at all. So I checked the returnable date. it is today. I am too late to return this crap printer because it is wasting my paper.

    Had to return and purchase a different printer. Successfully printed one page and then printer continued to jam.
