Great for black and white but color was horrible. Photo quality was the worst I've ever seen in a printer and took 25 minutes to print an 8x10

The printers' foot print is small and it is easy to use. The ink cartridges are the lowest cost per page that I could find.

    Noisiest Printer Ever!

I've had this pirinter about a year now. It's the first Brothers printer I've had and will be the last! The reason I purchased this one is because of its footprint and size as well as being an all in one. I needed a new printer with wireless capabilities and the price was reasonable. Although I read some reviews that mentioned the sound it makes, I figured it couldn't be too bad ... Wrong! It periodically makes this very high pitched whining noise while it is receiving data. Then it clanks a bit before finally spitting out the item. I'm replacing this printer as soon as I buy a new laptop in a couple of months, Can't wait!

After owning a HP printer for years, I was hesitant when buying a Brother printer. I saw reviews that others posted and did my research. Not only was the price amazing. The printer was easy to set up, and has worked perfect since day one. I love how quickly it prints and copies documents. It is a perfect printer for a college student and full time employee!

    Quiet and compact AIO

I love the way that the paper feeds landscape as it reduces the footprint significantly plus it allows printing on 11x17 paper. Print quality is more than acceptable and it is much quieter than my previous HP Photosmart AIO.

Picked this up with a recommendation from Best Buy Salesman. Anything but an HP for me. Wanted something for home use that would work with multiple devices all on different platforms. Set up was easy but painfully slow and using the CD is not the way to go. One hour to load one laptop, really. Quiet compared to HP and seems less plastic in this plastic world. Will come back here if like HP it begins to have trouble finding itself.

    Big mistake

On the recommendation of the sales clerk we bought this printer. Big Mistake! The printer is very loud and slow. The output is good once it gets going through all the pre clunks and noises. Even cheap printers will print a 3X5 index card. This one will not. Very limited in printing options. Wish I could take it back. It's next step is the garbage can. I will never buy another Brother product. Don't waste your money on this one.

    Scanner Teririble

We purchased another brother after our previous experience was very good. We required a printer with 11x17 printer capabilities and chose this one. The scanner is very lack luster unlike our previous MFC-6490. The color quality on scans is terrible. After only a few days the ADF quit working properly so I have to put each piece in manually or put lots of pressure on the ADF. After awhile, that "cheat" quit working too. I wish I would've read more reviews because they also state the same issue. I was in a rush and needed something fast for work. The print quality is very good and fast - very happy with that. The only downfall is that it is noisy. It does take awhile for it to print out 11x17 documents that have been scaled down. I did not have this issue with our previous brother. Overall, I'm very disappointed in this scanner. I wish I would've saved the packaging so I could return it..

This printer works as described. It doesn't attempt some of the things HP does, but you can depend on it flawlessly executing the features it advertises. A worry-free experience

    Not worth the $$$

I bought this printer because I needed an all in one but something that would print good pictures. This printer wasn't the easiest to install and the pics were the worst I have seen from an all in one. Parts of the printer like the paper tray felt very thin and cheap. I have returned this printer for a Canon and it was very easy to install and it produces awesome pictures.

Stopped working in less than 1 month

At first the printer worked well and was fairly easy to set up, however after only two weeks, it stopped working completely. I contacted Brother after a week of troubleshooting to try to get it to work, I spent an hour on the phone with their tech support. I was told I would receive a call back and be receiving a new printer. I never received a call back or the new printer. I emailed them and was told that I would be contacted 24 hours later and was never contacted. I then called them again and was on the phone for them an hour. The tried to have me go through troubleshooting again and told me that they had no record of exchanging my printer. I had to spend more than an hour and request to speak to a supervisor to finally arrange to have a new printer sent to me. I even had to give them a credit card info before they would send a new one. The Brother Company did not stand behind their product and did everything possible to replace a defective printer.

Tried to print a 4x6 photo from a scanned picture and could never get it to print correctly. I was on line with Brothers chat and several e-mails from their support team. I changed the settings they provided and nothing worked. Returned printer to Best Buy.
