Easy to set up and move from room to room. Can take anywhere. Great for hotels if you have wifi access

Bought this camera for my daughter. She just moved in her first apartment. After 4 days, her apartment flooded and we were alerted Maintenance didn't arrive until 3pm, seven hours after being notified. Ridiculous, their Maintenance note indicated they had arrived within an hour of being notified. REALLY!!! Glad we had the camera, she is no longer living in that complex.

Great concept for home security device. Major Fail as far as my confidence. 1. The sales guy at Best Buy promised a month free trial of full membership with access to the past 30 days recordings. I think I got 2 1/2 weeks or something not the month. Didn't really matter because of my next point. 2. The simple set up right out of the box was not simple due to poorly written instructions and device malfunctions. After the fifth call to Canary' help desk (which has been farmed out to another company so isn't staffed by Canary personnel) the lil birdie spit and choked and came to life. 3. At least 10 times in the past three weeks I've come home to an offline device. Calls to support explained the issues were from server failures. Okay thanks for the apology but my home security camera can't record so their server trouble equals my unprotected home. 4. That silly thing had a habit of activating itself when it wanted to regardless of privacy settings and "Do Not Record" situations. And No I did not set the controls incorrectly! 5. AND HERE IS THE BIG REASON I DECUDED CANARY WAS DEAD IN THIS MINE: Canary provided no garunteed of privacy and has the right to watch my home security footage any time they like with no permission needed. The Box said nothing regarding my privacy or their rights to watch my families activities.

It is a fantastic camera, it helps me a lot in the security of my home

I recently purchased a Canary and have been very impressed with it. Gives me peace of mind knowing I can keep tabs on my house when I am away. Right out of the box, minimal simplistic packaging and an unobtrusive sleek and modern looking unit. The unit was even smaller than I was expecting which was a pleasant surprise. The setup was very quick and the smart phone app guides you through all the steps to get you connected in no time. Once connected, the camera is crystal clear (even at night) and has a great line of sight with pretty good audio and even a zoom! I have it in a large room and the zoom feature comes in handy! The temperature, humidity, and air quality sensors are a plus and the app has many other features. I like the timeline and ability to see live feeds while away from home. The app also gives you the ability to automatically switch to away/home mode as you leave and come home. The Apple Watch App and notification center widget is a nice touch and let's you control the Canary. I have a Nest thermostat and would love to see it work with nest in the future and act as an additional temperature sensor for the nest. All in all, excellent innovative product with great potential for even more functionality.

and thats the reason i got this particular camera. After all its the quality of the image you are looking for. The other things they say this does, 'learn' the movements and such it really doesn't do very well at all. Alerts will continue to come in no matter what you set the camera sensors to. It doesn't learn movements at all far as i can tell. But the image is HD and night time image is HD. Upgrade its software might be in order to help the learning process so no more false positives are received. If your buying this camera for alerts for your house look elsewhere.

Good overall system. Activates and deactivates automatically. Wish you could get more notifications or ringers. Also wish you could add family members without allowing full access to system settings.
