    The alert is slow to notify you on their app. Criminal could have long been in and gotten to you before it lets you know someone entered. They also lead you to believe you get free footage for 24 hours of video storage but really it's 12 hours with two devices. They are mainly in business to get your monthly fee.

    Good Quality - Poor Service

    So. I got rid of my Dropcams (no Nest) and bought 4 Canary cameras. I like the quality of the video for the Canary but found the cameras big and bulky. After a few months I missed a few things. 1) you can NOT log into Canary's website and look at the video feed or review alerts. They keep claim it is coming, but never has. You CAN do this with Nest. 2) I started to have issues with video playback on my iPhone. I would get an alert saying there was an issue, go to watch the video and couldn't. It would say "Video not available". 3) Canary has no outside camera. Yes, once again, they say one is coming, but each time I check, it gets pushed back. Nest has one. 4) The customer service at Canary is horrible. HORRIBLE. Read other reviews, it is not just me. Last week, I sold all my Canary cameras and went back to Nest. I bought 5 Nest cameras and am very happy with the set up and quality.

    Bought this camera Intending to use it as a baby monitor since it has temperature, camera, humidity, and air quality sensors on it. The setup went ok but than they wanted me to get a $99/year membership to enable features on this device that I have never seen a camera like this not have built in without fees! I was disgusted. The real deal breaker is that this has the loudest relay they could have put in there that turns the camera on when you go to view it. It turns this relay on than turns lights on that will light up your baby's room. If you haven't already startled your baby awake with the unreasonably loud relay every time you log into and out of your device, surely the lights will do the trick!

    Barely used, software update broke it, Its garbage

    Don't buy this camera. Mine was working fine until they had a software update and now its stuck on the update and wont work. I see others have the same prob. solid white light and nothing works. My app says "update in progress" for days. The customer service says, oh sorry you're out of warranty, we can't help but you can get a discount on a new camera. Whaaat? Its only a year or 2 old, barely used. Don't buy this camera, for the price, its garbage.

    Died 30 minutes after installing

    Setup was painless and the iOS app is functional (though a little basic) It worked well for the 30 minutes before it died. I noticed that the app indicated the Canary device was offline (surprisingly this did not result in a notification to my iPhone) When I checked the device, I found that it was dead. Tried connecting to a different outlet (on the very odd chance that there was an issue with the outlet) but nothing, I'll be returning the Canary tomorrow. If their quality control is that poor, I'm not taking a chance on replacing it with another one.

    Save your money. Buy a Nest. Nest is way better. I have had to process 5 warranty exchanges because the cameras literally just stop working for no reason. Oh and customer service is absolutely horrible. The features on Canary are very limited too and half of the time it doesn't even record. Nest has every moment saved and Canary saves what it feels like saving. Well when the camera is actually working. We don't even use the camera anymore.

    Regret purchasing this product

    This device stopped working after 1.5 years. No one to actually talk to at canary. They only offer email and online chat with someone in India. Was hit and miss as to weather I'd be able to look at my camera remotely and it only works with a 2.4 GHz wireless connection which is prone to interference. Also, candy pulls the ole bait and switch with a paid subscription for any video older than 24 hours. 2 way talk is only available with a paid subscription. buyer beware.

    Read the warranty before buying

    I got this product because it had a camera and an environmental control monitor. The camera works okay, the environmental control doesn't. I found out when I tried to return it that their warranty has very limited coverage. They have replaced the product twice but it still doesn't work. They are not interested in refunding my money for a product that doesn't work as promised and their warranty says they don't have to. I'll never buy from them again.

    Buyer beware. Canary does NOT provide a phone number for people who cannot resolve tech issues online and they WILL NOT call you when you request. They are a SECURITY COMPANY for Pete's sake! Their product is decent, although nothing special, but this is poor customer service, SimpliSafe has phone support and is an excellent product!

    I have three of these devices and have loved them until recently. Recommended them to friends. When all three went down I spend hours on the chat line trying to get support. They refused to take a phone call. Now all three are worthless. I have given hours to this program and been given useless support. Beware.

    Sweet looking paperweight.

    Set up easy, the rest a total failure. Never connects, when it rarely does, it’s jittery and the image quality is just OK. I tried to save money and paid for it. Go buy a real camera from a reputable manufacturer - this one’s garbage.

    Biggest piece of crap i ever bought. The server on their end is always down and can never use the camera. Brought it back today and switched over to Ring which is a better system. !!!! Do not use Canary !!!!!!

    No more phone support, email is 1-3 days for reply to open ticket for issues, they now have ads .... you get no help unless you BUY their membership of 100 for the year, then others complained about its hard to cancel

    It's a good quality camera, but it has 20 Second delay, even do I am connected direct via Ethernet cable, but 20 Second delay it's too much, Canary company things it's normal, welcome for the theft 20 Second delay Hello, how that is Normal!!!

    Company not completely upfront and honest about the required monthly cost of owning. Otherwise just an average hd camera. Keep looking around there are better options.
