Works perfectly for my humble abode. It's extremely sensitive to variations in light. Since we have large windows, refections from passing vehicles and on windy days light passing through moving tree branches will set off an alert.

It installed easily and works great. We do get false reports due to our placement near a window that lets in intense sunlight. The view at night is not perfect, but it is adequate.

With only very minor glitches, Canary had worked flawlessly. Highly recommended.

I purchased my Canary after much research. I was torn between the Canary and the Nest. In the end I liked that the Canary stops recording when I'm home and that I could set up a night time schedule so that it can record when it detects motion when I'm sleeping! I love how seamless it is. It automatically arms when I leave and automatically disarms when I arrive home. It doesn't add an additional "to do" to my day! Also it is extremely well made. Needless to say, I'm more then satisfied.

Bought this after researching other cameras and I am 100 percent satisfied with my purchase. It's low key design helps it blend in, almost looking like a Amazon Echo. High quality audio and video. Roughly 5 second delay on my system running over wifi. The free DVR service is great plus the other packages are low cost if you need to save more video or go back farther in your time line. And there is an announcement of a add on system coming in the fall to make it a complete security unit for your whole home.

We purchased this in order to keep an eye on our daughter on days she has to come home from school alone. There are no monthly fees which I like. I get an alert everytime there is movement in the house when I'm away and I can quickly launch the app to view the footage. I can live stream view at any time and the video quality is smooth and clear. The audio is clear. It says it has a microphone and speaker but it does not have speaking capabilities. I can hear the video but cannot speak through the device. Not sure if that is something that will occur in the future. Set up was very easy and we plan to get more for the outdoors. The siren is not very loud but would probably scare someone off if needed. I wish the camera view was a bit wider or was capable of panning but overall I would definitely recommend.

Trying at home to see if appropriate for vacation home it is. Wide angle view good clear images easy to install and able to be checked remotely from more than one device

I use this device to monitor My Mother's movements throughout the house while I'm at work. She's suffering from Dementia.

Security Camera System works well and provides real time video of household interior as well as temperature and air quality conditions. System requires that wi-Fi system be in operation at all times. Although system usage does no require a monthly charge, to fully utilize the system's many features and capabilities, monthly fees are required. The cost of the monthly fee varies with the level of capabilities. Set up of the system and information regarding its operation are available on line. Only minimum operational written information for the system is provided with the product. This makes initial set up of the system somewhat of a chore.

The Canary product works as advertised and allowed me to receive a Home Alert discount on my homeowners insurance. I actually think response time may be better than an alarm tied through a central monitoring agency as they first try to contact you to be sure it is not a false alarm. With the Canary you can notify proper authorities immediately. The motion sensing is very good and you can teach the device to ignore shadows and lights turning on via Tags. The video and sound quality are excellent. Setup was a breeze and I am glad to have the additional piece of mind from the Canary device.

The Canary camera and app work really well. I bought two and it's great to get notifications when there is movement in my apartment. The automatic arming of the camera when I leave the house is icing on the cake!

I bought one unit last year . It worked flawlessly . I purchased a 2nd unit which is just as reliable . Setup is easy . You must have wifi . I am able operate each unit independent of the other . I can set the motion sensor video recorder in one room an not the other or I can operate both simultaneously . The picture resolution is outstanding . It has an infrared type process where in the night you can see the activity without a problem viewing . I recommend this , it's a good product

Love my Canary! Works great for looking in on what's going on at home from anywhere. I was a little concerned about my internet speed, I have ATT , but works great!

I bought my Canary as an addition to my home security system. The reason was so that when I'm away from home and the alarm goes off and the security company calls me, I can tell them positively if someone is in the house or if it was a false alarm (which I've had happen when a broom fell and slapped the floor). With Canary you just tell them to hold on while you open the Canary app and look & listen live to determine if the police need to be called. Without Canary the police would just be called out to drive by and take a look for anything suspicious but wouldn't have access to the home.

No local storage of videos and no mounting options are a dealbreaker. There are much cheaper options out there that provide both of those. The wi-fi on it is pretty weak. It will constantly disconnect while other wi-fi devices in the same room have no problems. Wired ethernet is more solid. The audio quality on the Canary is actually pretty good. But not really useful if you're using this for pure security reasons. But back to the dealbreakers. The only viewing options are the Live View and the viewing of motion events through the Canary Cloud. Meaning it will only record video when the Canary believes there is motion or something happening. There is also no local storage options as I mentioned. I will just say that there are wi-fi cameras out there that allow recording to a microSD card or recorder system or a computer or cloud as well for roughly half the price of the Canary. And there are no mounting options. As others have pointed out, someone can easily just walk up to the Canary and unplug it. And since the only type of recording done is through the cloud, if the internet for some reason is out, then you have no recording at all. Again, much cheaper options out there are wall-mountable. In the end, not worth it and I'll be returning mine. I think someone else wrote that the Canary is not transferrable to another person, but this did not seem to be the case. I was able to remove it from my account and reset the Canary.

Very easy set up. Great video quality even in the dark. Would give it 5 stars except I had issues with the home/away mode switching at the wrong times. This problem seemed to correct itself through a firmware update.

Great all around security system all in one small package. It has a camera, temperature and air quality all in one unit. The app is a little tricky to learn, but great for the price.

Setup took less than 5 minutes, it works amazingly well and even though the recordings are only held for 1 day (without subscription), with the notifications turned on, it’s fine.

So, at the very last second before clicking the purchase button on the Nest camera, something told me to check out the Canary. And I'm so glad I did. We use the Canary mostly to keep an eye on our puppy during the day, but it's also great that its main function is as a home security system. My only qualm with this item is that the vertical range of view seems limited, but that's really not a huge deal. I'd definitely recommend this if you're looking for a reasonably-priced home security camera or something to just watch your pet at home with!
