THE lens to have
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.if there is a lens you should lust after it is this one! Crystal clear images, rugged construction and great image stabilisation. I took this on a recent snowboarding trip and got some great action shots of friends riding. The must have lens in the Canon L Series line up.

Great lens for a beginner!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Well, that was clearly a joke. Picked up photography as a hobby and amateur about 7 years ago. I finally bought this lens and the image quality is as stunning and great as everyone says. If you have the money, well worth the purchase. Also, best buy 10% off coupons that you get when you move work with this! So best price I could find for this lens. Bought it with a 2x extender and taking advantage of the current canon MIR program made for an awesome combo. Picture quality at 400mm is still excellent. Get the best lens in the 70-200 range as well as far reach with this combo!

My favorite lens!!!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I went from 50mm 1.4 and thought I would miss my fifty but this lens gives me more creative freedom than I could have imagined. Perfectly sharp with gorgeous bokeh. I never take it off of my camera now.

Favorite lens
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is hands down the best lens made by Canon. Super sharp, great range in focal length, and the IS is beautiful. My primary field of work is filmmaking, and when I use a DSLR the 70-200 and 24-70 are the only two pieces of glass I need to get most of my shots. When I'm not filming I use my camera for motion picture set photography. It's nice to have long lenses to be able to shoot the crew members and actors from a distance to give them space to work. So basically the 70-200 almost never comes off my camera. Perfect for head shots, portraits, sports and fashion. If you're a photographer, buy this lens.

Heavy but worth it!
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's a heavy lens but unmatched by any of my other lenses (except maybe my macro, which I love!). I keep it on 75% of the day for weddings.

Great lens for many occasions
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This lens is exactly what I hoped it would be. I have used primarily for portraits so far, as it is a little heavy to take on every (long) hike. My only complaint is the weight, but that's to be expected.

Awesome lens
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Awesome lens, very quick auto focus and accurate. Colors are fantastic. A little heavy but the images it takes are worth the extra few ounces of weight. Works great for everything from sports to wildlife.

Fantastic Lens
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you are looking for a great lens in the 70-200mm range then this is the one. As others have said it can get a little heavy when using it all day but the pay off is worth it. Well worth the extra money.

Solid canon product
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Needed a 70-200mm to fill out my camera package. My local best buy did not have it in stock but directed me to a store that did. Best buy is easier then struggling through the zoo that is b&h if you just need something simple.

Great Lens
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love the lens! But it is heavy! Used it for the first time at a barrel race and the photos were crisp and sharp! Loving it. Worth the hefty price tag

It's worth it
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've used this lens before and very happy I now have one in the mix. It's not small or light but it is a very versatile. If you can afford it, take the time to look it over.

Expensive, heavy, but worth it.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I rented this lense last year and thought highly of it. After getting a extra fee from the rental company i just bought it this year. This lense is rated for a full frame camera but i have the 7D. I shoot a autism retreat every summer and this lense lets me shoot the band playing at night with shutter speeds of above 100. Very quick with focusing. Just an amazing lense. This lens has shown me that I need to get better lenses for the smaller sizes.... this won't be cheap.

Easy to use lens with great quality.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great high quality lens for novice photographers. Has a decent weight that would prevent use for long stretches without support.

Beautiful
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Beautiful crisp photos for day photos and sunset portraits. The internal bones of this lens are always working. This lens is an all around work horse and can be used all day for whatever you are shooting. The price tag is large but thats why thins a lens you just use for fun. I use this for portraits, weddings, and indoor events. The light intake is great and the autofocus and IS really help when youre moving around a lot. This lens is worth the money and helps to limit the amount of time you spend in Lightroom and photoshop.
