This is now my second time writing a ONE star review for this camera. I was appalled to see that my first review was removed and makes me question the validity of product reviews on this page! The new Canon R8 is an inexpensive mirrorless full frame camera. However it lacks many key features found in professional models. The battery compartment is poorly placed on the bottom of the body (impossible to reach if tripod mounted). It also uses smaller batteries which die very quickly (therefore those nice features such as Canon overcoming the overheating issues and eliminating recording limits don't matter because the battery will die first). Additionally I bought this camera when it was first released and my R8 had SO many bugs- the camera would just turn the display off, shut down, or randomly just saw busy and not take photos. Perhaps with software updates this will be fixed. Lastly I found the body to be too small and TOO light weight.

Camera is almost perfect with the exception of one fatal flaw, overheating! I was going an indoor shoot and started to overheat (no video just stills)
