Excellent printer, my first toner printer purchase. I enjoy the fact that toner lasts so long, changing much less often than ink jet. The toner also fuses on the page quickly and does not bleed like ink jet tends to. I would highly recommend a toner printer.

The paint quality is very good. My main gripe is the fire some reason it's preset to print from L1 which is a slot in the front of the machine. There isn't a drawer there for paper. It's just a slot where you can feed paper to the machine. But I would think that you would expect people who use a wifi printer to now than likely not be in the same room with the printer. So I have to come in every time and select L2 which is where the paper drawer feeds to.

I love this printer. It prints in vivid color, seamless double side printing and much more. I've only had if for a month (black Friday deal) but not disappointed. I was a bit leery as all we have ever owned were HP printers but for the sale price I could not pass it up.

not only does it hold more paper but it is fast. For home use be sure to buy a lan cable. The instructions took me days to figure out, not clearly defined in the instructions that I needed a lan cable. I love it now and can easily print from my phone as well with the Canon app.

Reading the comments forced my hand in writing this review with regards to the setup, it is most certainly NOT difficult. Once it was connected to our WiFi (which it walks you through during the initial startup) all of our family devices were able to see it and print to it without issue - 2 Macs, 1 Windows PC and a plethora of iOS devices. If you can read, know your WiFi network name and password, and have working fingers to utilize the integrated touch display you’ll have no problem with the setup.

I like the speed that it is printing color at. I love the plan that I have to get new cartridges through Best Buy as well. I do have to worry about when to refill I am just reminded through email then I change it out after it comes to my doorstep. I recommend that service as well.

This multi function printer is exactly what I was looking for. I had a inkjet multi-function printer on our ethernet network and it worked OK, but if I did not use it for a while the ink would dry up, so this is the main reason I looked for a toner based system.

First off, this thing is massive. It's certainly a business-class machine, albeit an entry level one. That's OK, as I have the space for it and I only bought it for home use. The print quality is outstanding, and getting it up and running on my home network was very easy. However, it is missing a vital functionality that makes it fall short of all my needs. This model does not support duplex scanning from the document feeder... This can be overcome by using the flatbed scanner and software, but it significantly increases how long it takes to complete a duplex scan. The other issue I have with it is remote administration is kind of a pain, but I use that feature so rarely that it's not a huge deal. Finally, you only get "starter" toner, which appears to be about 50% of what you'd get with new toner cartridges. This amount of toner will probably still last me > 1 year, but at this price point I figure they could have afforded a few extra cents per cartridge and filled them all the way.

Beast of a printer, but did have some driver issues that were fixed over time. The default to double sided printing takes some gettng used to

H or so This has been an excellent purchase for us. We no longer have to purchase ink cartridges every month or so due to the ink running out or drying up. This Canon Laser printer was easy to set up and does everything I could want.

Upgraded to this color laser printer from an inkjet that always required cleaning and messy ink smudges. This machine is not small and come with AirPrint which makes it able to scan and print wirelessly! Great addition to the home office. Prints with great quality for color.

Very solid printer. Was tired of disposable ink jet printers. Set up was a little slow but no problems after it was up and going. Fast clean printing.

I just bought the Canon color laser all in one printer MF642C for our 3 school age daughters and my home-based business. Our previous printer was an HP Officejet Pro 8610 Ink Jet but the printer head died after 8 years of work. So, we were due for a new printer. Out of the box this was a breeze to set up. The toner cartridges were already installed. I removed the packing, plugged it in, followed the instructions on the screen, then entered our wifi password. Easy Peasy. It prints faster than our old HP, it is multi-funtional, double-sided scanning, and great color reproduction. If I had to pick a negative, it would be only a slight negative, it is a little louder than our old HP. Not too loud, but noticeable. I would have added that the toner cartridges are pricey but I see on Amazon that you can buy non-Canon cartridges for a whole lot less and the reviews are good.

This is not a plug and go office solution. You need some heavy technical awareness to get this going. I do have decent 'personal' tech skills, but I've learned a lot in setting this up....and I actually still can't even work out which paper tray it's referring to in it's endless error messages. I dedicated a few hours to a call with canon support who were helpful, but I'm still miles away from being able to use all of this thing's 'features'. I'm happy if I can get it to print when I need it to frankly. I've mastered the remote UI, app and panel, but still no joy on phone/bluetooth connection. Basically - don't buy this to be a replacement to a 'simple' but less impressive looking printer....good for a medium sized office with a technical manager.

Bought this printer to replace a ink-jet printer. Very happy with this purchase. Printer is not used daily so i went with this laser printer and the cartridge will not dry out like ink jet cartridges do. The print is crisp and clear whether printing in Black or Color.

Product very good but ink still very well useable but timed out

This is a great work from home printer scanner. Print and scan quality is great. It allows to print and scan from a smart phone which is extremely convenient. My only complaint is it doesn't do duplex scans, though it can do duplex printing.

This printer is a tremendous upgrade from our old HP ink printer. The new printer has more functions and prints much sharper. We don’t have the problem of drying ink in the printer over time. This does it all-scan, copy, print, fax and email. Great buy.

I bought this printer after looking at a whole bunch of other ones. we dont print a lot so this being a laser printer fits our need better. We also wanted a color printer. Set up was easy and love the wireless printing cabability.

This is our first laser printer and so far we love it. It prints very quickly and the color images are very crisp. I also love how it prints on both sides seamlessly. The wireless connection also seems to work well.
