So far, so good.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far, this is an excellent printer. My wife really likes the built-in scanner. No complaints at all. Of course, it's too soon to comment on longevity.

Unstable
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Difficult to setup. Remote tech support got it installed on wifi, but connection was unstable. Tried wifi, usb, ethernet, and all were unstable. Printer was identified as three different models. After a week of trying, and I've been an IT engineer since the 80's, it was not worth more of my time.

PROBLEMATIC - BUYER BEWARE
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was so excited to have my first laser printer at home. I settled on this machine because of the favorable reviews, the price, and because it was one of few color lasers. It started off great, easy set-up and my first several test prints were excellent. There is no argument that the print quality is outstanding and fast! I soon tried to print envelopes - any size of envelope, using any program - it didn't matter. I researched the issue online and it said that several people have also had this issue resulting in a call to Canon's tech support. In several cases, it was a driver issue. Being tech savvy, I went to Canon's website and updated the driver to the latest release to no avail. I tried everything. I wasted countless hours. This issue could not be fixed. The closest I could get was that it would print a couple letters on the middle of the envelope but not the entirety of the content. I can print on paper but the moment the printer sensor realizes you've switched the paper size, forget trying to print. There is not a fix for this issue presently. The other issue I had was that the printer would continually go into "sleep mode" and would become unrecognizable or "printer not found" when attempting to print from a device such as your phone or tablet. You have to physically walk over and wake it up in order to print. I changed the sleep setting and this did not fix the issue. It is also very loud and frequently needs to run through its cycle after a print job is complete. I will also note that the reviews for this printer on Canon's website are an abysmally low. I would NOT recommend this printer. PROS: Super fast printing. High-quality print. CONS: CANNOT print other (smaller) sizes of paper or envelopes (many people are experiencing this problem, as indicated through a google search). Goes into sleep mode (even after adjusting sleep settings) and becomes unrecognizable on network. Loud. Large. Heavy. Runs through cycle after print job is complete.

Great disappointment
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have installed hundreds of HP printers with little or no problems. This printer was a nightmare. The DVD with the software didn't work. I had to stream the settings which took an hour or more. When I went to the Canon website the streams were constantly interrupted by third party pop ups masquerading as Canon with the resulting installation of unneeded applications. When I finally got the printer working, the scanner didn't work. Finally got the "MF Scan Utility" to install and work. Now that it's working it seems fine. But delivery took ten days and the streaming another week. I expected better from Canon.
