Just got this printer. It was easy to set up. I just downloaded the drivers and the scanning software from the Canon web site. I also connected the printer to my wifi network, and I am able to easily print from PC, iPhones, and iPads. In my opinion, the scanning software is also really easy to use. The print quality is much better than the inkjet printer this is replacing.

Much more efficient ink usage than inkjet printers and print quality is good, but it takes up MUCH more space and is HEAVY!! I had a hard time setting up the scan feature so that it would scan as a pdf and I still haven't been able to get the scan to email function figured out. Customer service/technical support hours are very limited, too, so I haven't been able to contact them during my non-working hours to have them walk me through it.

So far, so good but I just got the printer set up and printed a few things. The written instructions for setting up wireless printing were very confusing so I went to the Canon homepage which you need to do anyway to download the driver and register it. There was a video that walks you through setup which made it very easy to do. Color looks great! Its definitely bigger than I expected.

My last printer was a Brother Color Laser printer that lasted me over 7 years. I was in the market to replace the Brother printer and came across this printer. I quickly went online to check reviews and it had good reviews. I like the fact that this is an all in one printer so now I can get rid of my fax machine and my stand alone scanner. One issue that I have that I need to look into further is when scanning. I was scanning multiple pages for a document, and this would create a new jpeg for each page and I didn't have an option to scan into a PDF and have all pages in 1 pdf file. My stand alone scanner is also a Canon and that one allows me to save my scans in jpeg or pdf, and also allows me to scan multiple pages and save them into 1 pdf file. But if you want a good printer, that is very ink efficient and cost effective then this is a good printer.

I have this hooked up on my home network via ethernet for pretty light duty work. Just random printing now and then, scanning once in a while (scan to network drive). It has worked flawlessly, and the colors all come out great. It will not scan both sides of a paper automatically, so that's kind of annoying to fix in the files (using Adobe Acrobat, but there's probably some freeware out there for this), but I don't scan that often. I would buy this again. (Maybe that'll change once I have to buy replacement toner!)

Got this as a Black Friday deal so the price was good. It is one of the more affordable color laser printers on the market, for both the printer and the toner. I didn't want an ink printer because I use my printer infrequently and the ink was always drying out; laser printers just works every time no matter how long it has been. I also like/need the copy/scan functions and wouldn't get a printer without it.

Good color laser printer for the price. I haven't really put it through a massive print job yet, but the few test prints were good enough. Had a few issues installing the drivers and can utility on Windows 11 PC, but I think that's across the board and no fault of Cannon. The printer also came with a plastic piece (FEB-3012 on the bag) that I have no idea where it should go until I Googled it. Manual was no help, and Google search said this is a part for the paper tray for legal sized paper (https://oip.manual.canon/USRMA-1738-zz-SS-enUS/contents/SS735_basic_0062.html).

I am very happy I purchased this printer, Bestbuy recently had a sale and I jumped on this right away. Print quality is great, speed is great and scanning is great as well. For home use or small office use this is perfect. Working from home during these times, I needed a printer/scanner combo, so I'm very glad I purchased this. Works just fine with a mac computer, setup was very easy as well

Prints nicely, but a bit finicky to connect to over our home wifi network. Was inexpensive and of good quality for the money, but the connection part has been a headache.

Setup was easy. The only thing I might complain about.. a little too many options. Perhaps because it is for a small office setting for multiple people and you can lock up who has access to do certain settings on the printer. Other than that. The printing is great, copying and copying to pc works like a charm. **knock** on wood, all good so far.

The Canon mf642cdw looks great, but falls way short when it comes to performance! It absolutely HATES legal sized paper. As a loan signing agent, most of all my documents must be legal sized and I have had no luck getting this printer to print a closing set without jamming (usually right in the beginning) it seems to fly right through letter size paper just fine, but not legal. When using the screen to change paper sizes, it doesn't affect anything.. Still jams. As for scanning, even after changing the settings in the system to legal, it STILL would only scan to letter size and cut off the bottoms of my legal sized documents! I found the ONLY way to get it to perform right was to use the computer based Canon platform. I plan on returning this product and selecting a better one!

This is a great printer with excellent quality. The only downfall is that it is very loud. It is much louder than my last samsung laser printer and continues making noise after it is done printing for a while.

Excellent ink jet printer/could have clearer instructions on the driver install. If you have a computer with no drive, just go to the website and download the driver that way. (Don’t forget the scanner drive to scan to computer too.) still unsure if some of the functions but works and prints good! Large so make sure you have enough space put it.

As a homeschool mom I print a ton of worksheets. A ton. This printer is fast, simple, and an absolute lifesaver. The initial price investment will pay for itself in no time by eliminating the purchase of dinky ink cartridges. (I will update this review if any issues arise within the first full year of usage)
