Wonderful, Dependable Printer
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased this printer in 2020, and it’s still printing beautifully. Much more economical to purchase toner, than having to buy ink cartridges every time I turned around. For home use, this has been an excellent brand to own. And when the time comes to upgrade, I’ll definitely be sticking with Canon.

Easy set up and quick printing
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've only had this for a few days, but so far I love it! It prints double-sided pages much faster than my old printer (inkjet). It was easy to set up and especially easy to connect to my wireless network. Downloading the driver was easy and I didn't have to mess with settings, etc., as it was automatically set up to be the default printer. It didn't take long at all to be printing. Only downsides that I can see are that it is quite heavy (almost 50 pounds) and a little noisy when printing.

Have advice?
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am having issues with the length of the recycle/cycle-time upon completion of a job. Also, during these periods, it's loud. I have owned a b&w laser printer in the past and it was Much quieter. And there were no recycle-type processes. I wanted to say that due to trying to find a remedy and cut to the chase. The prints are excellent and the process to set up the wireless was not difficult. I'm curious if the clicking sound that I'm hearing may be impeding the printer's ability to complete a cycle of some type. However, I am reluctant to attempt to open up the printer's housing to have a 'look', I don't want to void my warranty. There have been less than 300 pages printed and the sound existed since I first used the printer. If anyone has had similar issues I would appreciate any advice that can be offered.

It’s a workhorse!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This has been a fantastic printer!! I got this because our printing needs at home are sporadic - either nothing for months, then dozens and dozens of school assignments, shipping labels, etc.

Fantastic product w/ an involved set-up for PC
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The printer itself is fantastic! Very quick, very quiet and very easy to use on Mac. The only reason that I did not give it 5 stars, is because setting the printer up wirelessly via Windows is more involved process than I would have liked. It took me significant time to understand why it wasn't connecting automatically to my computer, having to go to the Canon website and download specific drivers. Its not a huge issue, but it wasn't as easy as other printers that I have set up. Overall great product!

Noisy but good printer.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Once you finally figure out how to set it us (instructions that come with it and online are TERRIBLE), its a very nice printer. Just get some earbuds and put your music on. It's noisy. That's why I took a star off. I'd buy it again only if they do something about the noise.

Not an "All in One" - Missing Fax!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wanted the smaller unit, not the behemoth 741 or 743. So I took home the 642 and hooked up all the ports only to find a blocked off plate with the labels next to them that indicate where the phone line should be plugged in for the fax machine. The menu system still has components for fax as well. Seriously? You are going to rip out a $2 modem to save a couple bucks on this cheaper unit? Really disappointed. No, I don't fax often, but it is good to have fax capability for security. It is safer than emailing my social security number on scanned in forms to places. Jury is still out on the rest of the unit but I have had good luck with Canon units in the past.

Great printer!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Awesome printer. Prints fast with great quality. By far the best printer I've owned. So glad I invested in a laser to save on ink costs. It truly has saved me good money with how much I print. Downsides, instruction manual is hard to follow the way its written when setting up wifi (this should be easy to do these days but took a while!!). I eventually got it to work so no biggie. Also, it has lost connection randomly while it said wifi was connected and I have had to call canon for support but they helped me so quickly and once they teach you what to do you can fix it yourself next time. easy fix. would recommend despite that issue.

Great print qualify, a bit challenging to set up
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We got a great deal on this, ended up buying 3 of them. It was a challenge to get wireless setup with scanning, but once done works great. It's quick enough, not too noisy but I'd prefer it was a little quieter.

Poor quality
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Wi-Fi connectivity erratic from start. Quit functioning after six months. Ethernet direct to modem required to network. Print quality quickly degraded. Streaks and fading on all prints. Cleaning cycles no help. Used multiple paper types and brands. Ran cleaning sheets, etc. Still crappy output. Currently used for draft and junk work only. My last Canon!

Good quality, great prints
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.1, Bestbuy generating tracking# 7 days after purchase and FedEx delivered in 3 days from GA to Long Island. 2, Box wet and little damaged 3, wireless connection problem: SSID, WPS do not work, I had to use PIN code to let the Verizon G1100 router to take it.(took me 30 min. keep trying SSID and WPS, then finally get into router to take PIN code.) 4, The driver CD works fine (I saw lots complaints of the downloaded driver) in copy, scan and print. 5, just installed 4 days ago at client site, will come back to review again after a while. 6, I recommend this printer to those who know wireless.

warning do not buy
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My opinion is.... It is garbage. I bought it during the pandemic, because there were not many choices. It is huge, it weighs a ton, It is not friendly, and now after a few years it is not printing correctly and smears collars all over. AND this was more expensive back then. what a rip off.
