Goodbye HP, Hello Canon

After having problems with my hp printer - printing with streaks and printing askew, then replacing it with another hp printer that had to be returned for printing with dots, I gave up on hp and bought the Canon. My only complaint about the Canon is that the colors aren't quite as saturated as with my hp envy. There is the option of adjusting the colors and brightness so it seems to take a few trys with the Canon to get it right (for photos).. Other than that it prints photos beautifully. Also there is the option of printing large. The inks seem to last a little longer than the hp printer. For the price it's a great printer.
Best Buy has a ship free next day on inks so I've started using that service and am really happy about that.

This is a sizeable, sturdy printer. Works wirelessly without a problem. Like most devices, it came with superficial set-up instructions, nothing else. Not even reference to an on-line manual. After a shut-down, it takes a long time to start up, it “diddles” for a couple of minutes. Photo print quality is excellent.
Eventually, I got the flashing yellow light, indicating a problem. The on-line technician tried briefly to fix it; was unable to solve it, offered to give me a 10 per cent discount on a new machine. I declined.

I bought this printer in order to print large format pictures. It does an admirable job at its price point. The only problem I have found is that the software bundled with it will not let me select gloss paper at the 11X17 size.

Although is was a bit difficult to understand the WiFi setup, in the end it was easy. Just follow the instructions and push the "connect" button on your router. The printing is beautiful, much better than my previous HP printer and it takes bigger paper for large format photos. I use it as my only color printer. I also have a separate scanner and B&W printer for every day use.

Printer is OK, definitely not the best.

Bought this a year ago because of the amazing reviews. This printer is OK. It prints nice photos, however when I am printing a bunch of items it gets extremely slow. I thought it accepted every paper type pretty much, which is why I purchased it, only to realize I couldn't get a couple different card stocks through it. I would send them through and they just come out blank. I would not purchase this again and am already looking to purchase a different printer unfortunately. I love my brother laser printer so I definitely prefer to use that and I only use this one for photos.

Purchased this so I could print bigger pictures. Does a fantastic job on pictures. I've only done 5x7 and 81/2 x 11 so far , but they look better than Walmart or CVS

Got this primarily for photo printing, but also wide format color printing on occasion. Photo prints have been amazing! Was easy to set up for wireless access. Have a couple of computers in the house using it wireless printing with no problem. Have not yet tried printing from my phone or ipad yet. Ink consumption does not seem to be as bad as I thought it would be.

A little difficulty in getting the printer set up, but all worth it! The thickness of paper that can be processed is what I was looking for in a reasonably priced printer, this was spot-on.

HUGE disappointing product carrying the Canon name

I have been an avid Canon product owner (professional photography equipment mostly for the last 10 years) and have never met a Canon product I didn't like or didn't see as good quality, until I met this printer. Not only was it a total pain in the rear to set up but once it was it doesn't want to print on Canon's own professional grade printer paper. When I attempt to print on photo paper I get an error message that there's no paper in the rear tray but as soon as I put regular copy/printer paper in it works. A "photo printer" that won't print on "photo paper"??? Such a shame. I was hoping to print small proofs for clients/home but guess I'll have to take this one back.

Printer Doesn't Work Longterm

Terrible printer. Not only did it completely die after just a year and a half, but Canon says it's out of warranty. Canon said it must be a broken USB port on the printer itself. Not the case. The printer busts after 1.5 years and Canon will do nothing about it. Never buying Canon printer products ever again.

The printer itself is pretty good but the ink cartridges is hard to set up. I decided to return and buy another brand of printer.
