I love the new ink printer. It was so easy to set up. I can print so much easier than the printer I had prior to this one. Thank you so much for listening yo me and finding the best printer for me.

Printer was easy to install right out of box. Would not connect automatically but manually entered Wi-Fi network worked fine on iPhones and iPads. The tanked ink system is nice and makes for easy inexpensive refills.

This is the first tank type printer that I have owned and I think it is a great printer. All of the previous ones were the ink cartridge type. This printer performs great without any problems. This is also the first Canon brand printer that I have owned and the quality seems great. All of the previous printers I have purchased were HP brand and they work for about a year or two then start developing problems. The last one would make a grinding noise every time the printer was initially turned on and when it was shut down. The previous HP did that also so I thought it was time to try another brand. I am very happy with this printer.

This is a great printer no issues with setup I'm happy that I don't have to buy ink cartridges anymore and it can just buy ink itself

Copying works well. Prints black and color equally well. Enjoy pouring ink into the reservoirs as it seems to be more fun than installing a cartridge as in my previous printers. Must turn on the printer after a period of time without use but wireless printing works seamlessly once printer is on. Scanning a document is one page at a time without the opportunity to create multi page pdf document. Does not have an extra usb slot for saving documents. Have not tried fax yet. All in all good for the money. Compact footprint Is convenient to store under desk or on top.

A little slow, a little noisy, but if it rids me of replacing cartridges, I am in! Also super cool that they include a total of 3 bottles of black ink. Time will tell on how much it does or doesn't eat ink with infrequent use. Pro tip: if you have a Canon Printer you're replacing, it might be wise to uninstall the old drive AND software before installing this to save yourself a little "why isn't this fully working?" time.

Love this printer! It is always ready and the ink rollers do not dry out like some other brands. Easy to refill and has refillable ink that really last a long time.

I have done inkjets with multiple cartridges. I have done black and white laser printers. I have done color laser printers. Cartridges are far too expensive, used cartridges take up space, too much packaging, too much of a pain to return and its a never-ending worry about cartridge life, toner life, toner wires, the dreaded "replace the drum" message -- it is all expensive. This one is the opposite. You add paper every once-in-a-while (it holds a LOT for a home printer) and I imagine I will be stocking up on ink for when it runs out. But the total cost for a full set of ink will be around that of a single OEM color cartridge for a laser. Or the price of the full set of 3 colors plus black from a refiller/remanufacturer, with the chance of quality issues or just not working at all. I can fill an ink tank, and the included set still has a little left... a nice warning when you are a few days or weeks out from needing a full refill. Buying a printer historically, for me, has always been an awful experience. Starter toner cartridges that hold enough to get you through a few months, then the sticker shock... finding your model number to get another box of messy inkjet cartridges ... No more. The current market for color laser printers is rough. In the market for refillable printers, you got epson, canon, maybe a couple others. Epson is getting dated. You have to go into the administration page to change the options to wake-on-network, so you don't have to power it up every time (this should be the default, Canon...) Setup? I interleaved set-up with several other tasks, mindlessly following the directions on the quick start guide. As I recall, it went "tear off orange tabs, install printer heads, fill tanks, go to web address to set up wifi". So mindlessly done, I recall absolutely nothing eventful or painful about setup. Nothing bad about it. After years of single-sided printing only, double sided printing is a nice paper-savings. And its no work. I do not print photos, so I cannot comment on that. It's pretty hard to beat commercial services for the cheap convenience and not having to add / stock photo paper. Printing from iphone and ipad? YES. Biggest new feature printing in my home has added -- no more cutting/pasting/routing/emailing -- just hit the share icon, scroll to print, voila. And I don't do reviews very often. So Canon did a good job designing and manufacturing it. Scanning / copying? Not able to comment on it, now that you can scan directly into an iphone or ipad. So buy one. Not that much money, a great value, and environmentally sensitive (and I am NOT a tree hugger by any means, but the amount of plastic waste in cartridges is insane).

Bought the Canon to replace an HP when HP no longer manufactured color cartridges or allowed 3rd party cartridges. I vowed never to give HP my money again. This one is a workhorse and the ink seems to last forever. My reasons for only 4 stars include: 1) it's slower than my old HP and 2) no automatic sheet feeder for scanning. Other than that it's a great printer

Bought this after the print heads went out on our Epson. Like the fact that the heads in this are easily replaced. A lot quieter operation than the Epson but wish it had an auto feeder for scanning. Prints way better pictures than an Epson. The only issue is the paper tray. Sometimes if you go to print and don't have the ability to pick which paper tray it automatically goes to the rear tray even if there is no paper in it. You then have to stop and start a few times before it auto picks up the main tray. Some prompts allow you to pick the main tray right away. Overall happy with purchase.

This is 2nd Canon printer from same family. Both print clearly and with good color. Ink consumption very good and expect lots of prints from 1 ink tank recharge. The problem with BOTH machines is that they are slow printers and REALLY slow when doing 2 side printing. You really need to pace your work when doing large documents, especially 2 sided color. All in all,its doing a ptetty good job, just wish throughput was faster.

This printer has great quality, holds lots of paper, and can even print well double sided on card stock. The only real downside is setup and Mac integration. It says AirPrint, but that isn’t really true. Not in how normal people would define it. From a MacBook you have to be corded, either bet cable, or on the printers own WiFi to work. Not very Airprinty. Windows is better, but setup and interfaces distill feel clunky.

It takes a while to set it up. Enclosed instructions could be prepared better especially for the print heads installation. Needed help by an expert to set-up W-fi. Once it's done it does work fine, printing and scanning. I have it on my three computers, had to install Canon iJ utilities software on each one of them to scan from a computer. Color pictures printed fine and double document printing is fine. Originally there were two additional black ink bottles included. Setup CD-rom is also included. Best buy delivered the item in two days as promised.

The ink tanks are very big, have printed a lot of sheets of paper and the level has not gone down very much. Ink is easy to refill. Only problem I have had is the display is hard to read in dim light, it takes awhile to get used to how to set uo different printer settings.

I really love this printer! Its great. I have printed photos, bookmarks , i have used various different paper from different brands, sticker paper , photo paper and they have all been compatible and really good to use. The only complaint i have is that it asks me constantly what size paper i am using and for some reason its just odd about that.

This is a great printer. Easy to set up. I was worried about spilling the ink but it was not an issue. Prints really well. My photos looked great. I like that it shuts off when you are not using it. It has a smaller footprint than my last Canon.
