Beware
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Many problems with this printer. It refuses to maintain contact with the home network, but this is totally unpredictable. And yes, it is close to the main router.

Cannon
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was not sure if this was going to be as good of quality as a laser printer. So far I have printed on photo, metallic, sticker, plain and vinyl paper and the only one I an not thrilled about was the sticker paper. However, when a simple design is printed, it looks great. The colors are vibrant and clear. Overall I almost think it is better than laser due to the cost of ink and high definition of images. My only complaint is there is no backlight to the digital display which makes it extremely difficult to read without direct light on it.

Mostly a good printer.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Set up is pretty easy but there is no instruction manual. Everything is online and I couldn’t find specifics for instructions I was looking for. I had some difficulty using the back tray—setting up envelopes. I bought this printer for the back tray so it could be dedicated to printing envelopes, while the front tray is dedicated to document printing. It turns out I can’t get the printer to correctly print envelopes from my iPad. That means I have to use my laptop to print envelopes. It’s not very convenient since I mostly use my iPad for everything. If I could find instructions I could go into settings and change whatever setting needs to change so I could print envelopes from my iPad. As much as I’ve always loved canon printers the last two I’ve had are not as user friendly as I would like—this one included. That doesn’t mean I don’t like the printer at all because I do. But the next printer I get will have to be much more user friendly. But considering I just got this one this month that might be awhile.

Great, but....
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I like it, but would appreciate an actual paper version of a manual for this model. I also thought the rear of it was for multiple fed documents to scan into and transfer to file. Nope, it's for photo paper fed stock, to copy onto.

Worth it
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great quality printer and the ink lasts forever. I’d never go back to a printer without tanks.

Best printer I have had!
||Posted . Owned for 10 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The unit is superb at printing, scanning and copying. The ink tanks are much better than the cartridges and last a long time. Image quality and speed are terrific. I hope it lasts along time.

Difficult setup
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Getting The printer onto a wired wi-fi network was several hours and painful. I tried to register the product to my account. I could not get into my canon account or create a new one. Setup was confusing but I hope the machine works

Great Printer
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far so good. Very easy to setup, and getting other family members is fast and simple. Just have to get used to putting photo paper in back slot. There is no plugin for non-WiFi or bluetooth.

Can't wait for Apple to make a printer.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The lowly printer technology has been stuck in the stone age and with the upgrade of this printer I realized that it business as usual. The ink cartridge technology has improved, basically to thwart attempts to be able to use "generic" ink cartridges which are SO MUCH CHEAPER than Canon ink. As for the printer, yes it can print twice the number of pages per minute than my old printer but I am not printing Phd thesis every day. The printer goes to sleep and does not wake up when you submit a job to it. Apple Air print is as reliable or unreliable as my old printer. I can't wait for Apple to make a printer because any "pioneering" in said area will only come from that company whilst Canon, HP, etc. will only invest in ink technology to make more money off the user.

Just Okay - But Not Great
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this printer for simple working at home printing and scanning. When it works its fine, its just getting it to work. The wireless set up was really buggy and in the end didn't work. Canon's online help page was pretty useless. Had to buy a additional cord in order for my computer to find both the printer and scanner. I've tried this printer with both a Mac and PC and had problems connecting with both. There have been issues with the printer reading weather or not there is paper in the tray. Issues printing multiple docs at once. And then just other random issues with just getting the printer to print. Print quality is okay but I wouldn't describe it as "High resolution". Wouldn't recommend this printer.
