I could not get this all-in-one to keep wi-fi connection, scan or even print reliably. Cannon technical help made things worse and while a tech-savvy relative got things working, it did not last. For a brand new machine, all it provided was frustration. I do credit Best Buy for taking it back.

I purchased based on previous Canon (printers)... The quality of the prints were sub par. The printer itself is loud and clangy sounding. It take forever to get it to print. It constantly tries to print CD’s. Both online and pdf manuals are not helpful. This is covid19 - so returns aren’t running as normal. Plus I threw out the box for safety measures.

    An Impressive, Versatile Printer

I had a positive initial impression of this printer before I even opened the package. At 17 pounds, give or take, it’s a solid machine. Unpacking and initial setup of the printer was very straightforward. The box contains the printer, power cord, and six full-size ink tanks. Not starter cartridges! Connecting the printer to the WiFi network was intuitive and easy using the bright touchscreen display. It tilts through a range from vertical to nearly horizontal, so it can be easily used while sitting or standing at the printer. Setup on our PCs was as easy as using Windows 10's "Add a Printer or Scanner" tool. There is a software CD included, but adding the printer to a PC was so effortless that I never even took the disc out of its sleeve. I had a similar experience setting up the printer on our Android phones using the Canon PRINT app; it just works! Documents print very quickly, and I was struck by the excellent contrast of the print on plain paper. Even thumbnail-size prints are vivid and clear. I’ve spent years looking at documents produced on a laser printer, and I thought they were great. Turns out they were good enough ... the difference is surprising. Makes me appreciate the dedicated black ink tank. Photo output is excellent! The included 5x5 photo paper produced a print (from my phone) nearly indistinguishable from the store-bought print. Wonderful results, though we’ll probably only use it in a pinch. I haven’t had the printer long enough to do the math, but I think the cost per print must be relatively high, given the cost of the replacement ink tanks. The printer also has the capability to print directly on CDs and DVDs, but I have no way to test that function. I haven’t burned a disc in years and have no printable media. Scans are fine and colors seem accurate. The scanner is flatbed. No document feeder. While printing, each tank’s ink level is displayed on the screen. Very easy to read and tell at a glance if ink is getting low. On that topic, I really appreciate the individual color tanks, as opposed to replacing an entire color ink cartridge when one color runs out. I do have a couple of gripes. The output tray extends to receive prints, but once extended it stays that way. The printer needs to be set back far enough from the edge of its table, or that output tray will be in the way. It only auto-retracts when powering off the printer. Otherwise, it needs to be pushed in manually. Also, the bezel around the touchscreen is high-gloss black; it's pretty and looks great, but it scratches very easily. This printer is a replacement for our previous inkjet printer, a Canon MP700 we bought in 2003 (yeah, 17 years ago!) whose print head finally failed. If past brand experience is any indication, I expect years of trouble-free service from our PIXMA TS8320.

After having this printer for a couple weeks I have developed a few opinions of it, both good and bad. Since I’m generally an upbeat kind of guy, let’s start with the positives. Well the main positive is probably its most important feature. It prints beautiful pictures! The quality of the images I get are the best of any printer I have ever owned. Use some good quality photo paper and man; you will get some amazing prints. I can’t overstate how impressed I am with the quality of an image this thing can produce. Well beyond my expectations for a printer in this price range. So if all you care about is an affordable near photo quality printer you will use occasionally, this is a pretty solid choice in my opinion. In that circumstance I would recommend this to a friend. Now for the negatives. It’s a little on the loud side. The machine feels cheap and flimsy, when I mess with the paper tray I’m constantly worried its going to break. I still can’t get it to work wirelessly, I’ve never had such a difficult time setting something like this up in my life. I tried tech support but got not help. My brother is usually excellent with these sorts of things as he has done IT support for a living and he couldn’t get it to work. So I gave up and just connected via a network cable. The scanner I think is working, but I hope its not as intended because the quality is very poor. I've already had 4 paper jams and have only printed maybe 30 pages. And the overall design just feels like is has an unnecessary amount of moving parts that makes me worry about longevity. So as you can see I'm really of two minds here. I gave it 3 stars despite all the issues because at its core its actual printing ability is amazing. If the rest of the machine was on the same level as the actual printing it would be an absolutely fantastic printer. But past its main function everything is pretty much 1 star.

This is by far the best printer Ive had. It connected quick to my laptop and ran the setup nicely. I was also able to set it up with my Iphone by downloading the app. It prints nicely and the quality is great as well. I was able to print photos straight from my phone making it very convenient for me. You can also print documents, create photo items from your phone straight to the printer. I did encounter a problem with the paper loading cassette, it kept giving me an error message and I couldn’t by pass the message. The printer gives you a QR code and with your phone you scan it and it takes you to the online manual and helps you to fix any problem. Photos prints are great. Scans clearly, and the copies are great quality as well. I really enjoy this printer and Cant wait to print more photos.

Nice Printer That'll Nickel and Dime You on Ink

I like Canon products, really! I have a Canon DSLR and have owned a few Canon printers over the past few years, so I came into this review pretty optimistically. With that said, I think the price of this printer is absolutely fair, but the price per page when you start adding in the cost of ink is higher than other inkjets and definitely higher than a laser printer. In short, this is a low end printer that has lots of functionality for the price, but when you end up having to buy ink for it the true cost of ownership rears it's ugly head. Ink will set you back just as much as the initial cost of the printer and that makes this a 3 star product. You'd be much better off getting a laser printer for day to day printing and saving this inkjet for color prints when necessary or buying a nice AIO laser printer. Pros: Cost of entry Scanning capability Wireless connectivity to different devices Smart device compatibility Cons: No automatic document feeder for scanning/copies Cost of ink is expensive/Cost per print is very pricey

I cannot believe that this is on the market as it was hard to set up, it is having a hard time with feeding the paper, it gets jammed all the time and that all happened within the first couple of weeks. I will return it asap!

    Excellent all-in-one option- with Airprint!

So I got this unit to replace my prior all-in-one, as it was needing replacement ink and it was decision time, in that regard. That unit was perfectly functional, but lacked airprint (which I missed sorely, as I often want to print off a page or two of music from the collection I carry around on my ipad) and the scanner bed didn't work that great for me. Enter the TS8320- I love the form/function of this unit, which is admittedly a tad larger. But the touchscreen interface, along with the aforementioned airprint, allows me to use it without always needing to interface through my computer (an iMac, in my case). Printing photos directly from an iphone, documents from my ipad, or files from an SD card all are possible without ever utilizing the computer. I do like using the Mac when scanning- which this unit does flawlessly. The wireless connection includes 5 GHz bands, as well as bluetooth- and printing is infinitely faster than my previous model. Which, while certainly a first world problem, is still a win, for sure. One point to note- and this could be a plus or a minus, depending on your usage... this particular printer uses several small ink cartridges rather than an "eco-tank". As most of my printing is of the B/W variety, I do worry that my ink costs may not be the most economical with this design, but if you do a lot of color printing, it would be quite nice to only have to replace whatever color might be low. It does have dual black inks, one a dye-based for photos/images, with a separate pigment ink for documents- replacing the latter can be had for under $25 for an XL cartridge, so cost seems very reasonable. I couldn't be happier to this point. Bolder/darker than my prior laser B/W printer, and much easier to use than my most recent inkjet all-in-one. I think I've found the one printer to rule them all- at least for my household.
