A portable and quality camera! The Canon PowerShot feels like a high end camera with its 4k recording, 20.3 megapixels, manual mode and has a medium weight feel to it. It comes in handy when you want to take that perfect photo quickly.

Good camera for the price. My first unit failed on 2nd use. Found a Best Buy nearby on my trip and got a replacement without any hassles. Second camera works fine. Image quality is good. Buy an extra battery, camera case and memory. You're going to need it.

I absolutely love this camera! I’m an ambassador for an online clothing store & its perfect content creation. It also takes great videos for my YouTube Channel. The flip screen is so convenient and my favorite feature. It’s definitely a great quality camera for the price you pay

So before buying this I was debating between the SX740 HS and the Gx7 ii and I am very happy I went with the SX740 HS for my needs! A big price difference but the video quality is still superb and excellent, plus easy to use

My first camera purchase in 15 years, so I did my research. I think the Canon - PowerShot SX740 HS is by far the best camera for the money. Great still photos, wonderful video, and transfer capability out the wazoo. Great compact size for travel and zoom is terrific for a small point and shoot camera. I would recommend purchasing a second battery for those sightseeing days when everything is to your liking. The "flip-up" view screen is very bright and clear, but I would like to see more agility from the view screen. It is a great vlogging camera, but for those of us who won't be using it as a video diary camera, a nice tilt/swivel screen (especially in bright light conditions) would be great. I really love this camera!

I bought this based on past experience with Canon powershot cameras. I started using it right away without reading the owners manual and I had no issues taking some great photos.
Easy to use and I loved the 40x zoom. I could take some really good shots of objects that were very far away and they came out great.
Overall amazing value, just don’t use it at night.

This is a good camera. I have a lumix fz80 and bought this as necessary backup.
It does the job right. It’s a point and shoot and the pictures do look great.
Pros:
Great autofocus
40x zoom is actually good
Daylight pictures look sharp, vivid and have no noise
Has continuous shooting 8fps and works really well with sports, I bought it mainly for that and it fits the bill.
Tilting screen for selfies is good.
On daylight you can forget your dslr and pick this up to shoot pics.
Full manual control which is awesome for such a compact camera
Cons:
Low light performance sucks, my fz80 does a much better job obv
No Raw support
No jpeg compression
Pictures can be a tiny bit soft for some people’s tastes
Optical zoom up to 40x zoom is amazing, I don’t recommend using the digital zoom, even though it can go up to 160x on digital, but I don’t recommend and you can get grainy pics.
Make sure to register your product on the website or else you won’t get firmware updates. I didn’t notice I had to until I had already thrown my paper away that had my registration info. Don’t be me.

There was an issue with videos not looking like 4K but still a good quality and would still be used! It is very easy to learn how to use. I use it for recording but picture quality seems good as well! More of a adequate camera, not that professional. But good price for the quality.

This camera is amazing!!! Very easy to use and pretty self explanatory. I love how it’s compact and not heavy at all it’s a great size! Perfect to take on trips and just put in your pocket. I also love how you can take a selfie and pick the screen up to make sure everyone comes out in the picture.

Oh my gosh!! This is an absolutely great pocket size camera. It has not disappointed me at all. I have made stunning pictures of the moon. I also did some senior pictures for my son and his friends that everyone loved. It is versatile and totally worth the money. I LOVE MINE!!

Took 4 pictures so far. Looks great. Small enough to put in my purse. Only drawback is you have to order transfer data cable from canon. Does not come with the camera. I have larger Canon’s with lenses, just wanted smaller.

I used to do professional sports photography so I have a very high end Canon DSLR and several (mostly telephoto) lenses, but that setup just isn't all that useful for everyday walking around due to size and weight. I also try to avoid using it in situations where it might get damaged such as fishing in saltwater with a small boat. This, on the other hand, is pocket sized, easy to use, has a great zoom range for it's size, shoots really terrific video in decent light, and is inexpensive enough that if it gets damaged it won't break my heart. The auto focus is good, but I find a bit better clarity with center focus. I've given it a good shakedown with both with still photos and video, and am pleasantly surprised by the video quality (except in really low light). As Canon users already know their smartphone app is unintuitive and clunky, but it does work okay once you get the hang of it. All-in-all it's vastly superior to a cell phone camera and nearly as convenient. I'm glad I got it.
