The camera took very nice, sharp pictures and the 40X zoom was incredible. Still I had a problem with the lens protector shutter sticking partly closed and the flash would not work. I returned it to a Best Buy store even though I purchased it on their website and I had no problem with the refund. I had actually liked the camera enough to request a replacement instead of a refund but none of the stores in the area nor their online store had any in stock.

It was the perfect size to through in my purse on vacation. While I have not printed out the pictures yet, when I viewed them on my computer, they looked really good.

I bought the Canon SX740 because I needed a camera with a decent zoom since my go pro and phone have digital zoom that are not good. I never expected the video to be so much better than the Go Pro or phone. I can't comment on pictures because I only shoot 1080P videos . It will shoot 4k but 1080P is easier for me to convert to DVD and the picture quality is still excellent!

It is a very good choice for casual video filming. It is compact and light weight to carry around. The battery lasts about three hours, it is good to purchase a second one to back up. The qualities of pictures and video are great. However, there is no case with the camera when purchasing. It is better to buy a case to house and protect the camera. A case does not cost much. Overall, it is a good camera with fair price. If the camera lasts for a decade or thereabouts, we will give it five stars.

This is a good camera, if you know how to use it. Don’t expect to purchase this camera and whip it out of the box to take an amazing photo, you will need to adjust the settings depending on the type of photo. For example, higher shutter speed (ISO) to take a photo of a moving object such as a waterfall. I researched this camera hard before purchasing and learned quickly that all the negative reviews were from people who did not know how to work a cameras settings, or had dropped it hard enough it stopped functioning. I give this camera four stars because I’m still learning to use it myself but am very pleased with it. Also, TAKE A PHOTO OF THE MOON FULLY ZOOMED IN!!!

Purchased for our outdoor maternity photos. The pictures look great when taken indoors, we just need to get the hang of using it outside. Love the picture quality and ease of use.

We purchased this camera to take on a trip. It worked great - we thought- until we went to use zoom. The screen was shaking and bouncing up and down side to side. Made us nauseous just looking at it to take a pic, well trying to snap a pic. We returned it as defective and got a replacement. Went outside and tried the zoom before we left the parking lot----No Bouncing, No Shaking, just pure sweet zoom! Thank you Best Buy <--- Amazing customer service. And thank you Cannon for manufacturing it.

Exactly what my wife wanted. She has the larger one with all the lenses, but wanted one that would be easier and lighter to carry. This fits the bill!

will be using more when traveling in a few weeks. New purchase for trip. Chose for size and apparent ease of use.

Good camera a little bit overpriced pictures come out good but not great.

I currently have one (which I’ve dropped one too many times) and bought a new one. It’s so easy to use & I get some pretty incredible pictures. What I love is that it’s so small & you can take it anywhere.

Great camera. I use this for my property inspection business. I take hundreds of pictures every day. I had the old 730 for about 5 years. So I was confident to upgrade to this one Even though it's older technology. I wish they would come out with new ones. People in my line of work love these cameras. The optical zoom is amazing.

Great pics. Easy to use. not complicated to use on auto setting. Excellent zoom, Would recommend a monopod for full zoom shots
