I bought this for my wife to take on an African photo safari. Weight and space restrictions were a real consideration. The pictures she came back with are amazing. The most astonishing feature is the 40x optical zoom. What appear as tiny dots in the distance transform into clear, sharp enlarged images of African wildlife. The focus is so crisp and the exposure makes the images "pop". I'm so glad she had this camera as compared to using a cell phone or tablet.

I've brought this after owning a more expensive dslr camera. And, this one took it's place. The image quality is unbelievable. I recommend this camera to any one looking to get into photography. It's easy to use and learn all the features. You're not just thrown at a complicated piece of machinery. It's amazing performance for the price tag.

I love this camera! I take it every where with me. Simple and easy to use. Great quality photos and I love that I can get them via Bluetooth/wifi right away in my phone or laptop. Battery last quite a while. This is like the little sister to the Cannon G7X.

I’ve used this camera for a couple years now and I love it. It’s great for daily use. Very user friendly. With low light and lots of motion it can be difficult to get quick high quality photos but I think that might be user error - still learning how to adjust the settings :)

Love canon and the zoom quality in this small portable camera is excellent. I don't have to carry my big professional camera around especially traveling to places in weird locations so I don't attract attention but this one does the work and easily put in my pocket. Comes on fast and takes awesome pictures. I love the big LCD screen in the back.

Have been looking for a camera that fit my photography requirements of convenient in size that takes sharp photos and has a good zoom. I needed something small enough and light enough for travel but still took the quality photos I wanted without having to lug around larger cameras and extra lenses. This camera checked everything I was looking for. Thus far it has been what I had long been searching for but was unable to find.

Nice small camera. Great for traveling or out walking, where you would rather not carry a bigger camera. Takes very clear photos, with great colour. Also can zoom in well and gets a good photo of subjects like birds and other waterfowl. Had to buy a film to put on the screen to cut down on reflection glare, as there is no view finder, just the screen. But that was not a problem.

This nice little Canon PowerShot is great for travel. It doesn't take up much room, it's easy to carry, and provides some good pictures.

First time purchasing a camera and I love it. The camera has a incredible zoom in option. The quality of the photos are amazing. It connects to WiFi without an issue haven’t dealt with any disconnect and it also has the option to pair with your phone via their mobile app. My favorite feature is that the screen is able to flip over GREAT for those who like to take selfies. Overall it was an excellent choice.

Very good camera for the price. The zoom is very impressive, and the picture quality is much better than expected. The only things that I noticed that could be improved some is the battery life is kind of short in my opinion and taking pictures in low light has been a bit tricky, other than that very good camera, would recommend

This is definitely a few steps up from the last compact digital camera I bought, years ago (also a Canon). The previous one was good based on technology that existed at the time. This is more advanced. I am still figuring out how to use the many features and options. I like the easy-to-handle size and the photo quality.

Borrowed a 730 and fell in love with it so I bought the 740. There is a little of reading that needs to be done but it is easy to use. I took some great close up pictures of my daughter in the band from across the field. Very sharp pictures. I mostly use the camera in the "P" and "SCN" with great results. Highly recommend it. Make sure to use a fast SD card (170 MB/s) for better results.

Absolutely love this camera! Still learning to use it but still loving how the pictures are turning out.

This camera is very easy to use. Just point and shoot. Zooming in is not that easy though. But, I'll get used to it. The wow part is that I don't have to chase the birds anymore. I can get decent photos of them even though they are far away.
