Purchased the MyQ garage door controller due to a family member constantly forgetting to close the garage door. The installation and configuration was very simple and can be done in less than 10 minutes if you know what you're doing. Just plug in the hub and connect it to the home's wifi, attach the sensor on the garage door and then have the hub learn the garage door's code. Simple as that and works flawlessly from anywhere in the city (or world!) Best thing about the MyQ is it works with many different brands of garage door openers.

My husband picked this up after seeing a Best Buy ad for it in the paper. I was skeptical, but he likes tinkering with things, so I told him we should try it. It was $140 out the door with tax and proved to be worth it! He said it was super easy to setup. The only problem he has was that we did not remember our password for wifi, so we had to dig that out, but once he had the wifi password it hooked right up. Our garage door opener is a genie brand. I leave the house at least once a week and forget to close the garage door. I used to either loop around the block where I could look back at our house and see if I closed the door or not. Now, I pull away without any worry. Just yesterday I went to target and thought I left the door open, so when I got to the parking lot I opened the myq app on my phone and sure enough, the door was open. Tap the screen and you can see the door closing. When I got home, sure enough, the myq did its job and the door was closed. Great for moms or busy people on the go. My husband likes to use it at night to check to see if we closed the door before bed. Many great ways to use this gadget!

Installation was very simple and it works as advertised. It only takes a few seconds max for the signal to reach the opener which is easy to live with. I can see if the door is open or closed anywhere and no subscription fee!

The installation was very simple. It took me about 15 minutes to install which includes mounting the unit to the garage ceiling, putting the sensor on the door, and programming it to work with my Wi-Fi.

Follow the instructions on wifi set-up and it should work as intended. We had a lot of problems trying to program the opener - we followed the instructions exactly, however it took about 7 attempts to program the openers. We still don't know why it decided to finally work. The problem lies with the phone app. When I added the app to our phones and tried to register, I got error codes. Called Chamberlain's customer service, only to find out both phones have to have the exact same info, including email addresses, etc. You are unable to use your own info to have alerts sent, alerts will only go to 1 of the 2 users - completely ridiculous. Contacted their customer service twice about this - 1 nice rep, 1 annoyed rep. Overall, while the product works, the intention to monitor the garage door ultimately does not work. We'll be returning it.

We've had a few car break-ins, and wanted to make sure we didn't leave garage door openers in our car. We also have Xfinity Home the MyQ is integrated with the Home app. Even after reading through the guides, I wasn't sure our garage door opener would work, but took a chance. In summary, we're very happy with the MyQ. Setup wasn't straight forward, but only took 15 minutes or so. I didn't have to talk to customer service. The documentation isn't superb. (I didn't see anything about pairing the opener with the sensor) The most annoying thing is the alarm that goes off when the garage is shutting. It's a safety thing, so it's probably justifiable. There are two chamberlain apps, I'm not sure which is the correct one, but I think the blue one is the one I ended up using, not the red. Xfinity home displays a slider for opening the garage after it's setup. Slide it left to close, slide it right to open. Works great, very happy

I bought one of these at BB. It was not really a big deal to set it up and it potentially solved a lot of convenience problems. It worked fairly well for a while, maybe 3 months. Then one day, when trying to use it to get in, it wouldn't work. Couldn't connect with their site and gave the message "NO RESPONSE. GARAGE DOOR IS NOT RESPONDING. PLEASE TRY AGAIN. I tried from inside on wifi (very strong network), from outside using cell/internet, from another wifi network. Nothing. After many tries, it worked once in a while, randomly and mostly not at all. I took the whole thing down and set it up again. Same thing. Several weeks later, 4 days ago, to be exact, I got an email from Chamberlain saying they were experiencing problems and your MyQ device may not work or accurately depict the status of your door. They were certainly right about that. Still not working. Bottom line -- great idea, bad execution. Save your money.

This product was very easy to install & program. It has worked perfectly since I have installed it & I am very happy with my purchase. It was on sale for a great price & worth it for my peace of mind. I would recommend this purchase for anyone who has trouble remembering whether they shut their garage door or not.

Like having the capability of opening the garage remotely. Used it several times when friends showed up before I got home. Also easy to check to see if you shut the garage door before bedtime. Lazy....sometimes yes.

My wife and I are notorious for leaving the garage door open. Now we know. Unfortunately I bought this before the HOMEKIT version was announced. I will be buying the HOMEKIT and giving this to my in-laws

Following the instructions it took me less than 20 minutes to install this product. It works perfect and I do no longer have to keep the garage remotes in my car. Check for compatibility before you buy it.

The product DOES operate as the packaging says. The installation was complicated by my home network and customer support said that I needed to open 4 different ports on my router, but they couldn't help me do it. It was a complication with my network, but I've also never had any problem installing hue lights, amazon echo, Nest smoke alarm, or my smarttings hub, why the problem with MyQ? I did finally get it to work. I admit that I confused my research as I thought this product connected with other home automation systems... but there is no official support for Apple HomeKit, no Amazon Echo support, I understand that some can get it connected to SmartHome but it will only open the garage door and not close it. There is also no IFTT support. At this point in the home automation timeline it shuld be connecting to multiple systems to broaden it's cababilites. Actually right now the only thing it does is open and close the door and let you know when it's opened or closed. No ability to schedule users for access, no ability to voice command over Echo, nothing. Like I said it worked as advertised, but the limited capabilites aren't worth it. I returned it, paid $35 more for the gogogate and will be getting IFTT connectivity, user configurations, and the ability to connect to a video camera to view the garage on the gogogate app.

Easy to use the only draw back was to get the Bluetooth portion to get synced. Still haven't got it to work right. Other than that a great product.

Product works great, for what it is. But as it is it is not compatible with Amazon Echo/Alexa. There are other wifi garage door openers that are Alexa compatible. Chamberlain support says they don't know if their MyQ will ever be compatible with Amazon Alexa. If this is important to you then you may want to contact Chamberlain before buying, to see if their compatibility has changed.

Despite several complaints listed about the product not working or working when it wants to, decided to give it a try. I could not be more pleased, since installation, it has worked flawlessly! So far i have not experienced any of the reported app issues or hardware not connecting problems others have reported. I am using it on an 18 year old Craftsman opener that is not supported by the Craftsman equivalent of this product.

I love this device!!!! I do recommend getting it. I looked at the reviews prior to purchasing it. The only complaint was the install part of it. I agree, it was a little complicated for someone who is not tech savy. I did have to call in for support but was was well worth it!! The support team was helpful. I am up and running.

Purchased as add option for my Chamberlin garage door opener. Product features are nice, however the two main issues make this product a 1-star. 1. Garage door opens by itself at least once per day. 2. Garage door won't close to due to reverse detection activated by this device. Overall like the features and really need this capability. However the door openings and conflict with the Chamberlin door opener make this product a "Bust". I have returned to Best Buy and told customer service the product had issues. Interesting, that Customer Service told me they didn't record why a product was being returned. I love BB, and will continue to shop. I don't understand why they are not taking feedback on products? Until Chamberlin fixes this product, I will not purchase

This is an awesome product. Perfect easy to install instructions, installed myself. Alerts me when garage opens via a text message and can open and close from my phone anywhere I am. I love this product....perfect for the price. Small and inconspicuous. Never worry about leaving the garage open again and feel safe when I am home or away. Def recommend!!!
