great for me, not great for my sister

I purchased two of these using price match with Lowe's over the wknd. Mine installed seamlessly in under 15 minutes. I have a builder provided Genie pro garage door opener that came with my new build (2016) house. My sister closed on her house a month later and also has a builder provided Genie Professional garage door opener. The MyQ would not work with her garage door opener. According to the online Chamberlain forum this product does not work with garage door openers manufactured 2016 and beyond. It is confusing because it worked on my Genie but not hers. So we spent 1.5 hours trying to get it to work only to discover it will not work on her garage door. So I am happy with my purchase but will be returning the one I bought for her.

I don't know about anyone else's experience, but I love this device. It has worked great from day 1. I recommend it to everyone who's looking for this capability. By far, the most capable, and best value, I've found.

Yesterday I installed the Chamberlain - MyQ Garage Door Controller. It took me a while to make it work because it was not detecting the devices. I went out and received a notification that the door had opened. Hurried back home and the door was closed. Today I went out to lunch and received a message. When I arrived back home the door was opened. About 2 hours later I received another notification. The system reopened the door again. The concept is great. However, the system is not. Unfortunately, I'll have to remove it and return it.

Does not Work with Genie openers

I was really excited about this product. I had an older Genie garage door opener which I tried to use this with but unfortunately it was older technology so it didn't work. I really needed a new opener anyway so I went and purchased a new Genie garage door opener. After trying and trying to make it work I finally contacted Chamberlain support. They informed me that they don't work on newer models of Genie openers either. Why call it a Universal Controller when it doesn't work with one of the largest garage opener manufactures in the country.

I have great wifi in my home. The RING is worthless. I try to view a video it says 'error while playing video'. I have uninstalled the app and reinstalled, nothing. Also if you don't pay for the cloud service, where does the info go? At this rate you could steal antthing you want because this does NOT work. I see the good ratings and wonder how long they used it. I have had mine for two weeks. Useless do not waste your money.

Garbage - Not a good product

I bought this for my home car garage so that I could open and close the door remotely. The Hardware: Very flimsy cheap plastic. I felt like if I dropped it, it would fall apart. The Installation: The installation on this product was really difficult, and it took me a good hour to get it set up (I am an IT Professional, so I am good with stuff like this). The instructions in the manual were incorrect, and they gave me the wrong Web address to login and do the setup of the device. The Mobile App (Android): The mobile app is horrible, and not easy to find what you need. It says it works with almost all newer model garage doors and seeing how difficult this was to set up, I doubt that is the case... The Chamberlain Tech Support: Do not know what they are doing at all. Had me go through several steps such as uninstalling the app, re installing the app, using my laptop instead, try using tablet. With all the troubleshooting steps I took with him, I could have just built a better product myself... All in all, don't buy this product and look for something that is a little better put together...

    Poor Client Support

After several attempts to get this product functioning properly I waved the white flag and called customer support. The first call I held 20 mins and figured I did something wrong and called back in. After holding for 23 minutes for Chamberlain client support the agent informed me that he had not been trained on the product and would need to transfer me. I asked if I would be put back in the hold queue or get right to another agent. He promised I'd get another agent and not go back into queue. He transferred me back into the queue. After holding for another 20 plus minutes I got another agent who informed me that she too had not been trained on the product and was unable to assist me. To make matters worse, she told me the call center was closing and that she would not be able to assist me further and I would need to call back the next day. After an hour of attempting to contact Chamberlain client support, I removed the MyQ product and put it back in the box to take back to Best Buy. PLEASE...I beg of you...don't waste your time or money!!!

    Don't Buy!

Went through 2 of these before i gave up. Bluetooth connection to my iPhone would last for maybe 20 seconds during setup. When i could get the LAN setup going it wouldn't connect to my home network (that has 10+devices on it without issue). Chamberlain support was condescending (did you put the correct network password in each of the 6 or 7 times your tried). My job is in IT support and i've worked in network support as well. I get that there are occasional user fat fingers going on, but 0 for 2 puts this as junk in my book.
