Terrible

Overall terrible experience and I would not recommend it to anyone.

Didn’t work for me.

Very encouraging. But, then it wouldn’t open my door. I tried moving it to several different locations with no luck. Had to return it. I wish the app had some type of checking, troubleshooting, or diagnostics. Very disappointing.

Cheap way to upgrade your garage for smart tech

Works fine every now and then i get a message saying my garage door is open not sure if i open on accident or what but i have a lock on mine so i can never tell if it really was open

pay to watch ads on their app

Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased it 2 years ago and was happy until about 2 months ago, when Chamberlain, MyQ’s parent company, decided to revoke 3rd party access such as Home Assistant. Now it still works, but you have to use their official app, which shamelessly shows ads that aim to upsell their products. This product only works on the cloud, which has random downtimes.

myQ corporate is against smart homes

Their existing partners are NOT for smart homes, they just open and close the door. That's not useful at all.

What's in a name?

Don't purchase if you have an "overhead doors" unit, but apparently it's supposed to function with "overhead garage doors" company.

Great Device

To be able to open and close the garage door when my garage openers does not work. Make sure that wifi is good, doesn't need to b e really strong.

Posted .We do apologize for the inconvenience. The Smart Control is compatible with Craftsman openers manufactured after 1993 to present, however it does depend on the model as well. In addition, it works with most brands of garage door openers manufactured after 1993 that use photoelectric sensors that do not shut off. It is not intended for use with openers in which the photoelectric sensors located near the bottom of the garage door change power mode (e.g., lights on the sensors turn off after the door is closed), or any Chamberlain Group opener with a yellow learn button manufactured between 2010 and 2021, or any Linear opener.
