We had another product that lasted 15 years and worked great until it died. It does what I needed it to do, but there are issues... 1) I had to move a wireless router next to the garage in order for the sensor to be able to use it. Thankfully my home is wired for ethernet so this was easy. I can use my phone from outside my home vis wifi and connect to any of my 3 wireless routers, but this needs to be right next to it. So, if you can;t do what I did, you may have problems. 2) I could not get this to pair to my garage door opener. The unit is maybe 2 feet away from it. My garage door works with this according you their web site. One time it paired, but it would never open or close the garage door. it would flash and beep a then after a minute would say it failed. I have 4 cars and I've paired many generic remotes with my opener and never had an issue. I tried re-pairing multiple times and it always failed. On paper, this is a great product, but in reality, it's too good to be true. For the cost, you get a lousy wifi transmitter/receiver and I'm not sure how it connects to the opener, but however it does, it's poor quality.

I dont see why the could not just make it all in one item but it just seems like they want to charge you more. Other than that it works great using the mobile app
