Easy to setup, but no Alexa/Homekit integration
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This device was easy to set up. Pairing with the door opener worked fine. However, there is no Alexa integration, which is disappointing. The idea of buying a different bridge to enable Homekit seems far fetched (and too costly for the benefit). Homekit integration should come de facto wit the MyQ Smart Garage Hub

Posted .Thank you for providing us with feedback. At this time the myQ app does not integrate with Alexa. We do integrate with Apple HomeKit, but you will need to purchase the myQ Apple Home Bridge.

Needs a subscription for poor voice control
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First it's ridiculous to pay a subscription for all functions, but that's only were it starts. It is expected to pay a subscription per functionality! Want Google assistant pay a subscription, want IFTTT pay a separate additional subscription. As said ridiculous. Then Google Assistant integration is additionally very poor. Don't expect it to be recognized in Google Home! It won't it only can be made visible with Google Assistant. Also don't expect to say something simple like "Hey Google open garage" don't work with their poor way of integration. You have to say "Hey Google talk to MyQ." "Tell MyQ to open garage". Very bad. The subscription is already stupid, but then the poor integration makes it even worse. I returned it after a few days, said for the holes I made to install this worthless piece of tech.

Total waste
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I would not recommend this item. Extremely difficult to set up. Very temperamental to keep working. I would recommend the gateway rather than this item. (I have setup many different items in our smart home. This is by far the most difficult by far)

Never works correctly
||Posted . Owned for 10 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Installed everything per instructions. Thing just doesn’t work right. Will be fine one day, then next day says garage is open when actually closed and vice versus. Can’t rely on it whatsoever, what a waste of money.

BEWARE!!! THIS IS NOT HOMEKIT READY
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this item based on recommendations found from Apple and other internet reviews sites such as Toms Guide. Even the box and literature from Chamberlin says it works with Apple HomeKit.Sadly after installing I find out it does work with HomeKit but you need to spend another 70bucks on a bridge. So if you are a HomeKit guy like me BEWARE because this is one of the many products out there claiming HomeKit compatibility but only if you add another pricey bridge.

Painless peace of mind
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My kids help with chores -- taking out the trash, recycles, etc. -- and most of the time that’s a good thing. One night before trash pickup though they finished their part after me and they left the garage door open. That night someone came into our garage, rummaged through our cars, and walked off with some of my power tools. It was disturbing to realize that while we slept, someone was going through our stuff just a few feet below us. Since then I have been especially careful to check the door, but there has always been a shadow of doubt and uneasiness. I had wanted to get a garage door monitoring system for a while then, saw this, and jumped at the opportunity to try it. So glad I did! Setup was really pretty simple, and I’m not especially a handyman. All you need is a screwdriver, everything else is in the box. I followed the directions -- screwed the hub to the ceiling using the included screws and drywall anchors, attached the sensor to the top inside panel of my garage door, installed the app and created an account -- and had it setup and working for me in about 45 minutes. Honest, it was that painless. Once setup the app lets you set alerts and schedules, and notifications can be sent to the app, e-mail, or both. Schedules let you program the door to automatically close at certain times. So I set mine to close automatically at 10pm on take-out-the-trash night because in normal cases we will have taken the trash out by then and so, if it’s still open at 10pm, it now closes automatically. Schedules let you pick all days, or a subset of days, and you can set multiple schedules. Individual schedule items can then be disabled or enabled without needing to delete them. Alerts are just as configurable and can be set to notify you anytime the door is open or closed, to notify you if it’s left open or closed for longer than a certain amount of time, open or closed during a certain day and time, and that sort of thing. It’s pretty straight forward. After using it for just a few days it has become really nice to know at a glance from my phone whether my garage door is open or closed, even if I’m not there! If I ever wonder late at night while I’m in bed I can just pick up my phone and pull up the app and see if it’s open, and if it is I can close it right from the app too. I’m very happy and enjoy the peace of mind this gives me. It accommodates a 2nd sensor for a 2nd garage door as well which I will be adding very soon now that I know how well it works!

Convenience and Peace of Mind for Your Garage
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Chamberlain MyQ Smart Garage Hub is a great addition to an existing garage door opener to add smart home capabilities. The kit included here is a door sensor and a hub that bridges your garage door opener frequency to your WiFi network. The best feature is that it doesn’t require any modifications to your existing garage door or garage door opener or the purchase of a new opener. Once everything is up and running, it enables you to remotely control your garage door using the Chamberlain MyQ app. The app allows you to directly control your garage door opener as if your phone were another remote. Also since there is a door sensor, you can remotely monitor the status of your garage door, as in whether it is currently up or down and how long it has been in its current state. Finally, you can set up alerts to inform you of different events, such as if the garage door has been left open for a certain period of time. I found all of these features worked well with on both my local WiFi network and on a mobile cell network. The app itself is pretty spartan, but it gives you the controls you need front and center without a lot of additional bloat. Overall, this is a great addition to an existing garage door opener that gives you some piece of mind when away from home and additional flexibility on how to control access to your home. Setup: It is pretty easy to set up. The included instructions guide you through how to sync the hub to both your garage door opener and WiFi network after you get the door sensor installed. Once the hub is synced, it guides you on where to install it relative to the garage door for the best performance. The wireless sensor comes with two adhesive velcro pads for adhering it to the top of the inside of the garage door. The hub comes with a mounting bracket to install it on the ceiling near the garage door opener. I found both pieces to be simple to set up and install. The door sensor is relatively small and unobtrusive, and it is battery powered. The hub requires a power cable, but you need to mount it near your garage door opener, so you can take advantage of the outlet that is used there. Any extra length of cable can be wrapped around the mounting bracket to keep it from hanging too low or in the way. Overall this is a clean and compact setup to add great features to your garage door opener.

Great idea, but weak Wi-Fi.
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The concept is great, by knowing and the ability to control if the garage is open or not through the phone app, it adds extra security and convenience especially when you are not home. But unfortunately, the Wi-Fi is unstable, and it has been disconnecting very frequently, at least once or twice a day, so it defeat the purpose of the item.

Does not work well with my Eero
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this product as it had good ratings and a lot of standard features. For some reason it would not pair with my EEro WiFi system. It never presented screen to ask for password, just timed out. Placed it next to the router, still the same issue. I had to return this item and get Insigna for Apple.

false positives when it is cold
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had several false positives (i.e., message about the garage door left open, when is not) that always seem to happen when the temperature drops. If i lived in CA or FL, that may not be a problem. But living in CO, it gets old to know i may get a message saying that the garage door is open when is not. Of course, what if it is, and i disregard it?

Doesn't work with next, doesn't do a whole lot
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The packaging claims it works with Google Nest but it does not, they dropped support over a year ago. The myQ app has only minimal functionality, for example you can't set it to something like "if the door is open for more than 10 minutes, close it", all you can do is set up a time like "after 11:00 am if it's open, close it". We also get false errors from the scheduler claiming the door is open when it is not (and get an error when you tell the app to close it in that case) once every 7-14 days or so. It's an inexpensive product I suppose, and it's nice to be able to put my mind at ease in those "did I close it?" situations ... but you get what you pay for. I would have paid a little more to have it work with nest and get a quality app from chamberlain. I'm not sure I would have bought it if I knew how little I was getting.

Doesn't work with my Chamberlain
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Yeah - great idea - however - I did everything and it connected eventually - however- at that point my clickers didn't work anymore - I bought that for my wife for security - so after two hours with customer service (the guy was knowledgeable but kind of patronizing - he told me that the my led garage light was the problem) the guy told me that the board in my opener was screwed and that's the problem - nothing I can do - not the product but me... lol - so, I wish it worked but ... it's my board's fault...

Extremely unreliable
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This remote garage door opener is the worst smart home device in my arsenal. I actually ordered the extra Apple HomeKit hub straight for chamberlain in order to use with HomeKit but have been completely dissatisfied. The garage door opens on its own sometimes and sometimes becomes unresponsive. That’s horrible especially when you are out of town.
