I had high hopes, but I think I know why these have been on sale. Returned for refund.

Does not work well at all. Easy install but not reliable!

sometimes it's not working. doesn't connect but I check internet and everything is working.

I really like this product because it turned my old fashioned garage door opener into part of my smart house. By installing this hub, I can check the status of my garage door, as well as open or close it from an app on my phone. More importantly, I setup alerts so that if the door is open late at night I will get an alert so that I can close it. This is great since our door has been left open overnight on multiple occasions this year. I wasn't sure exactly how the product worked at first, but it was easy to figure out once I worked through the few steps. Also, if you use with iOS, you'll need to do a special setup (instructions are included separately in the packaging). The product was fairly easy to install, but I did have to put some screws into the tall ceiling in my garage. Once the hardware is installed, the app will program the sensor in the hub to control the garage door. There is also a sensor on the door that confirms whether the door is open or closed. It is really quite simple but very useful product. I would recommend it.

Installation was dead simple (mount a sensor on the door, and drill two screws to mount the main unit), although the wifi pairing procedure was more complicated than it should've been. My phone had trouble initially connecting to unit, and required me to "forget" the unit's network and then reconnect. After that, it worked as expected. Mounting, as mentioned earlier, was quite simple: two screws for the main unit near a power source, a couple of Velcro strips to attach the sensor to the door, and the power plug. That's it. The process for linking to my opener was equally as easy: start the process via the app, hold the pairing button down for a couple of seconds on the opener, and wait until they connect. That's it. Overall, I'm very pleased with this unit. Highly recommended!

It would make my garage door open on it's own. I came home to my garage door open all day.

This product is not very smart. The maximum speed is 2.5 MBs while most home networks are 5.0 MBs.

This system was very hard to install. It would not connect to my garage at all

The Chamberlain Garage Hub is an easy installation and setup. From the time I opened the box until it was fully installed, and setup was approximately 1 hour this includes, the entire process. The app is intuitive. It literally walks you through hub setup, sensor testing, garage door opener programming. Once setup up, the unit is easy to navigate. The unit has the ability to schedule times to open as well as close doors at specified times. While, I like the features of this garage door opener, I don’t like that it’s app-controlled because to many apps are controlling people’s lives while useful can become hectic. I would prefer control from a website or portal versus downloading another app-controlled gadget.

The Smart Garage is an elegant solution to a common problem. No longer do I have to worry about forgetting the garage door opener or leaving the garage open. The Smart Garage Hub is perfect for controlling your garage and being informed about the state of your door, even when you're aware from the house. The system is pretty easy to setup. A few simple steps to get the system connected to your wireless network, install the app on your mobile device (iPhone/Android) and you're ready to go. I really like the alert system. you can receive messages on your phone to make sure you always know when the door is open and you have a time stamp as well which helps pinpoint when the door was opened. It took less than 15 minutes to install. All of the required hardware is included. I would recommend this device to everyone with a compatible garage. It will put your mind at ease.

Very bad product, difficult for setup, bad services!!!

This is a pretty simple device, basically it allows you to open your garage door using a smart phone and internet connection. It took awhile to get it to work with my 2005 Craftsman opener that has the red/orange button but after much trial and error I got it to work. First: Install the door sensor like the instructions show and install the app for your phone. Second: Plug in the hub to an outlet and wait for it to power up. Third: Start the app, create an account and go through the setup procedure so it can find your hub. Test that it's working using the test button on the door sensor. Fourth: Set up a new device, this is where I had problems. Selecting Craftsman with the red or orange button did not work. I tried all the other colors and that did not work. What I ended up trying that did work "for me", I pressed in the programming button on the opener for 10 seconds and waited for the led to go out. Unplugged the opener from the power and plugged it back in. I then went through the programming sequence again and found selecting the Purple button in the app while programming worked. As soon as you get the correct colored programming button selected the lights on the opener flash once signifying that it's been programmed. I tested it and it works perfectly. After going through all of this you will have to re program all your remotes, not hard it's just a little time consuming. Chamberlain shows that this will send out door status alerts when every there's activity. I have not gotten any of this or figured out how to turn them on in the Android app. The only downside I see otherwise is the instruction manual is very limited and is only called a "Quick" setup guide. Their site also shows scheduling to make sure the door is closed "or open" at certain times. There's really no explanation for any of this in the manual so I'm docking one star. Hopefully that will be addressed soon. I do wish the alerts worked or I could set up the schedule to make sure the door is closed at night. Otherwise this works really good and at least I can check the door status in the app while away from home.

The Chamberlain MyQ Smart Garage Hub is a piece of smart home technology that I have had my eye on for some time now. I am all about a smart home, and continue to add new gadgets to improve my home in this aspect of technology. When I first opened the box I thought to myself, "how hard can it be to setup?" Little did I know that I would have a bit of a hassle getting the MyQ Smart Garage Hub setup. I guess I can also attribute it to the fact that instructions for IPhone users are on a completely separate one page guide, and not in the actual instruction booklet where it should be. It would be nice to include this in the "Instruction guide!" Once I got the IOS instructions going I found myself in another bind. I followed Chamberlain's steps, but I still couldn't get it setup correctly after 20 minutes of trying. I had to repeat the steps a couple of times before actually getting it to work. I am not new to technology, and I have setup other devices right away, but I don't know if it was user error, or Chamberlain's instructions are just not clear enough. This is my reason for the four star rating. With all of that said, after about 45 minutes of messing with the app and their website, I finally got the MyQ Smart Garage Hub linked to my phone, AND my Apple watch! I absolutely love the fact that I am able to control my garage door with my Apple Watch. I find this to be extremely convenient, and had no idea that this would be possible when I received the MyQ Smart Garage Hub. So far, I have had no connectivity issues. My dad like to come to my house to do things around the house, and found it difficult to do because he couldn't get access to my garage. Now that I have the MyQ Smart Garage Hub installed, I can open the garage for him whenever he comes by. I am loving the MyQ Smart Garage Hub. The only downside was the installation that took me a while to figure it out. If you are not tech savvy, I recommend having a professional install this unit for you. You will definitely love it once you have it up and running. I would highly recommend this device to anyone.

This is the the ticket for all for all those folks who fret about whether their garage door is closed after they go to bed or when they leave for work. Not only can you set the app to close the garage door every night at a certain time (so you dont have to worry about forgetting), you can open and close it remotely from anywhere. In case someone needs to get in while you are gone. A Great convenience. Its a pretty simple system. An AC powered hub that connects to your home wi fi system and the opener. And a door sensor that tells the hub whether it is open or closed. You have to register to get everything to work but I found that to be pretty painless. As was the installation. The battery powered sensor just sticks on the door with double sided tape. And the hub mounts to the ceiling near the opener, Just a couple of drywall anchors and screws (included) are all you need for the mount. You can generally plug it into the same outlet the garage door opener is plugged into. The app walks you through the process with videos. It's all pretty easy and straightforward. Use the app to connect the hub to your wifi system. Push the learning button on the opener so the hub can learn to talk to the opener. That's it. Anyone with moderate technical and mechanical skills can install this little gadget in a few minutes. The only caveats are that the opener must be compatible (most are) and you must have a decent wifi signal in the garage.
