    Pros: easy to setup, took me about 5 min. Cons: need to pay to use with smart devices. I didn't notice this when I bought it. To me the con really out weighs the pro. I will be taking mine back. Not sure why the charge, other smart devices do not do this.

    No, that's not a joke. Chamberlain thinks it's acceptable to charge a $1/mo subscription service for basic compatibility with 3rd party devices (like Google Home). This is patently absurd. I will be returning the product until such time as they reverse this ludicrous decision. The garage door opener itself works fine.

Each partner requires its own subscription. For $1.00 a month or $10.00 a year, you can have access to one of our premium myQ services. The subscription can be canceled at any time. Chamberlain-DIY

    I've never reviewed a product, good or bad, but felt I needed to review this one to help others that might be considering purchasing MyQ Garage. I won't bore you with the details, so I will summarize my frustrations with the product: the network setup was tricky and will take you several tries to get it to work; even after the network was successfully set up, the opener worked for a couple of days before I started to get misleading errors. While the errors were pointing to faulty sensors, the sensors were actually working fine. In fact, MyQ was affecting the overall operation of my garage door which was working fine before the product was connected. Sometimes the door wouldn't close, sometimes it wouldn't open... even though the network signal was strong and the sensor was communicating properly with the hub. After two days dealing with the product's shortcomings, I decided to return it. You can go ahead and give it a try if you wish, or save yourself the aggravation. Good luck.

    I installed the MyQ smart hub expecting an integration with my Google home network that I have setup in the house. Not only do I need to ask Google home to get MyQ everytime I want to know if my garage door is open. It constantly asking which door I mean even though I only have one setup. It also will only tell me the status of the door and doesn't seem to understand "MyQ open the garage door" instead I get responses like "Garage door is Closed". I know it's closed that's why I asked you to open it.

    Only good for decoration

    Installs easy, sets up easy, but once installed the hub continually goes offline, rendering the value of this device to zero. I added a WiFi signal extender to see if that was the culprit as I have a detached garage with a weaker signal than in the home and this had no effect at all. The Chamberlain user forum is full of similar complaints and no solution is offered. This device is totally useless for its intended purpose.

    Too big of a risk of failure when unattended

    wow... I have never rated a product -5 stars, but this one is absolutely horrific. When it works, it's OK, but it causes so many errors that are unrecoverable in the app, and basically the product is too unreliable and presents a huge risk. After spending over an hour and a half with their tech support, we concluded that the problems most likely are in the sensors. They got confused when a garage doors went up and down. The door can go down but the APP thinks there is a "close error" and then displays a status of OPEN even though the door is down. The app then is useless until you clear the close error, but that had to be done by deleting the sensor from the app, and then physically clearing the channel memories 1&2 on the hub, and the reconfiguring the sensor with the hub. Needless to say if you have this problem while you are away, like when using Amazon Key, there's no way to fix the problem. And depending on what state your door was in (open or closed) you may be stuck with an open garage door. I've spent over 30 hours trying to get my two garage doors to work. I've tried 2 sensors with 1 hub and 2 sensors with 2 hubs. The system will work for a while and then just randomly fail, for no reason at all. It's DEFINITELY not worth the risk of an open door. I also had this thing randomly open my garage door without doing anything on the app or remote control. Use this at your own risk. BTW support was clueless as to how to fix this. I suggested that they send a new sensor but they were unable to do that. So, back this goes.

    Alerts Do Not Work!

    Everything installed and worked as described we were thrilled... for 5 mins. However became clear that the ALERTs function was nothing to get excited about. Our only purpose for purchasing this product was for our lake house to ensure we got alerts everytime the garage was opened or closed when we were not there. Ie .. for contractors, maintenance vendors etc. If we open and close with the MYQ app we get an alert ( not everytime and certainly not within minutes). However if someone opens the garage with the key pad or in car remote no alerts are sent. Deleted app and reinstalled as advised by MYQ online support and still NO ALERTS when keypad or car remotes used. Also alerts are set up to send email and text. Never get texts and only sporadic emails if App opens /closes garage doors. ALERTS were sole purpose for us purchasing and it is certainly not doing as it advised it could. Disappointed with product.

    Product is cheap and flimsy. Setup videos do not match setup procedure. Worst yet? IT DOES NOT PAIR WITH CHAMBERLAIN LIFTMASTER PURPLE BUTTON PRODUCTS. Tried calling support. No answer. No other avenue other than 24 hours of email response. It's going back to the store and I'm never buying another Chamberlain product, and I suggest you do the same.

    Errors cannot be cleared within the app.

    I bought this 3 days ago and today when really using it for the first time, after the second attempt at closing, it produced a close error. There is no way from the app itself to CLEAR this error. The only way to clear it is to operate the open/close function from the button in the garage. Luckily I was home when this happened and not opening it remotely to let someone in or to allow for a delivery. If that had happened, my garage would have been open for the rest of the day with no way to close it. In addition to this, the beeping before it does close is way too long and highly annoying and no way to shorten this time it is beeping. At least with my previous controller brand this wasn't a problem and luckily I kept that old controller and can reinstall it. This device is poorly executed for any type of security. When I spoke with support, they offered to replace the device, but I can't justify keeping it based on these 2 problems. I'll be returning to the store today.

    Locked out and No Customer Service

    One day after two months of using this product, I came home and opened the app, and I could not log in to my account to open my garage door. I could not get into my house through the garage because the app kept giving me vague Server Error messages with no explanation or path to get help through the app. The frustration builds when you find out trying to get help from Chamberlain website customer support is more frustrating than easy or helpful. Customer Support Chat on the website was unavailable. I called the Customer Support phone number and it just plays waiting music. Literally went straight to waiting music for five minutes. The second time I tried to call, it said I reached a non working number.

    Does as advertised however, you may run in to issues if your wifi network uses automatic switching between 2.4 and 5 networks.

    Works fine standalone but has "nuisance fees."

    The Chamberlain MyQ works fine as a standalone device, but try to integrate it to other home automation services - like Google Home, IFTTT, Amazon Alexa - and they charge what can only be called a "nuisance fee" of $1/mo. No other vendor charges an integration fee like this, If you want to control your garage door from other home automation platforms, select a different product.

    I purchased this as part of upgrading my home to be a smart home. I mistakenly believed that the unit would work with Amazon Echo because the salesperson at Best Buy said it would... I does not work with Echo. If you check there website, it appears they may be a way to get it to work by creating your own interface using IFTTT and PAYING Chamberlain for the privilege. Amazon Echo is the number one smart home controller in the world. The interface has been written by a third party, and removed by Chamberlain. This is extremely poor customer service.

    Do Not Buy

    Bought in december 2019. Worked 2 months and quit. Called chamberlin and they wanted to blame router settings. It worked for two months and no settings changed! Sent replacement unti and worked 3 days and quit working. DO NOT BUY!

    I have a Hormann garage door opener that I am able to program to vehicles from 3 different car manufacturers but not this device. It should not be that hard to add this and other brands to their online database.

    Save your money

    When it works, it's pretty cool. But, generally more trouble than it's worth. Initial set up was time consuming and challenging. The sensor often looses pairing with the hub, so it's impossible to know whether the door is open if you're not looking at it. This is a big problem as the door won't operate if the sensor can't tell what position it's in. Additionally, the hub looses connection with our Wifi router (about 20 feet away) at least every 45 - 60 days, which requires me to set it up all over again. It would be great if it jus worked like it's supposed to.

    Dont believe the hype. It does not work with google home. For a fee, you can see the status and close door but you cannot open it. You pat a fee for something you cant completely use!

    Not Secure - Opens on its own!!

    This product is not secure. My garage door opened on its own several times, even after I put a code on the app. The last time it opened and closed in the middle of the night twice, being left open for almost an hour each time. After realizing this happened hours later, I removed the device and will not use it again. The manufacturer has failed to answer my concerns.

    Not what you expect

    Does not open with google home/ifttt Says some security error. I called and they said they would call back and never did. close works with ifttt but you have to pay chamberlain for it to work which is ridiculous since iftttt is a free service. I know these are easy fixes so they really need to wise up.
