IF YOU DON'T HAVE THIS YET . . .GET IT!
||Posted . Owned for 10 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We lost one of our remotes to our garage door. . .and I am glad we did as we purchased the Chamberlain - MyQ Smart Garage Hub. I did the installation myself by watching 2 YouTube Videos and it was not difficult at all. The most difficult part is mounting the hub to the ceiling in close proximity to your garage door opener. "Teaching" the hub how to 'find' and communicate with your garage door opener is explained clearly in the instructions by clarified in the YouTube. There is a sensor that you mount to the garage door as well that communicates with the hub to let it know if the garage door is up or down. The hub will connect to your Wi-Fi network. (FYI - if you do not have a home Wi-Fi network. . .then this product is useless. YOU MUST HAVE A HOME WI-FI NETWORK TO USED THIS PRODUCT.) By downloading the MyQ App. . . you will now be able to use your cell phone as a garage door opener. The app uses your home Wi-Fi network to communicate to the hub. The hub - after going through the 'teaching' process of finding your garage door opener - can then send a signal to open or close your garage door. It knows whether the garage door is open or closed by the orientation of the sensor that you will install on the garage door. This hub has 3 huge benefits. First, the ability to have as many remotes as you do smart phones is huge. Second, the ability to double check from afar whether or not you shut your garage door is invaluable as well. How many times have you left in a rush to get your kids to school or go to church and you don't remember if you closed the garage door or not? The MyQ app solves this problem as long as your phone is able to connect to the internet. When you open the MyQ app, the main display shows you whether your garage door is open or closed (and for how long it has been open or closed). So if you are sitting in church and see on the MyQ app that your garage door is open. . .you simply push the icon to close the door and the app will display when the garage has closed. Finally, since you can open the garage door from anywhere your cell phone can connect to the internet. . . you can open your garage door for deliveries, to allow in your house cleaner, or let out the dog ! And all of this for under $40!

Very handy to have, and easy to install.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I never thought I'd want or need to open my garage door via WiFi, but now that I have it, I don't know why I waited so long. This device has worked almost flawlessly (one glitch, but it worked with my wife's phone. Go figure). When we travel, we sometimes get packages delivered (NOT from Amazon) that require someone to retrieve them before a rain. My neighbor has been kind enough to do this, and I can just open the door while talking with her and open the door. Easy! It also has a feature that checks and closes the door daily at a user-set time. Just in case I forget. There is a strobe light that flashes before the door closes - for safety. Wish I could turn that LED light on manually, or have it come on whenever the door is opened. Installation instructions are online, and very easy to follow. Plan where you want the light/hub to be to verify the power supply cable will be long enough to reach it from an outlet. Also, place the hub as close to your WiFi router as practical. Our signal was a little weak, but the device works fine. Total time to install was less than an hour.

Update Your Garage Door to App Control
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This Smart Garage Hub is easy to install in about 15 minutes. I love knowing when my garage door is opening or closing. You can even let a neighbor or a friend in remotely. It is extremely handy. I receive alerts on my mobile phone when the garage opens or closes. But, hidden in the details is the subscription you will need to accomplish all but the most basic functions. Fees apply after thirty days for IFTTT and Google Home control. Read the product description. Google and other companies provide their service for free for all smart devices, so charging for this interface should be eliminated, in my opinion. Access to both will run you $20/yr on top of the $100 for the device itself. This hub is compatible with most brands of garage door openers made after 1993. Nice package size: 1.5" x 4.5" x 4.5". Includes Wi-Fi Hub Power Supply, Bracket for Hub, Door Sensor, Hardware, User's Guide & Warning Decal. CONCLUSION: The myQ Smart Garage Hub MYQ-G0301 is a convenient device to retrofit most garage doors for remote monitoring & control. I would choose a different device if you intend to use IFTTT and Google Home control because of the fees. For basic monitoring & control, MYQ-G0301 will satisfy most users.

MyQ delivers Convenience and Peace of mind
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My wife walks a lot and most times she would always go through the garage so she would take the garage opener to get back in along with the smart device that is attached to all our hands, her cellphone. So I thought there has to be a way of combining the two and then I found the MyQ which solve this issue. It was super EASY to install in the garage and setup with your WiFi. They really did a good job on the setup tutorial videos. What I really love about this is the convenience to open the garage from any room or anywhere for yhe matter. Plus it sends you push and/or notifications when the door is opened or closed. Another cool thing is that you can establish routines to open or close the garage. For instance I have an everyday 7pm routine that would run and close my garage if it was open. I have tested and it works like a charm. This could be useful for persons who leaves their garage open to vent on those hot Summer days. You could also incorporate you amazon account where packages are delivered in the garage away from the pirates. All in all we love our MyQ. Convenience and Peace of mind.

Easy to use
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Easy to use. Not much to it. Opens and closes garage like it should. Installation was easy enough and app is simple. It’s nice to be able to open garage with only having to have my cellphone on me instead of the ugly garage door opener. Never really left the garage open by accident before but nice to know I will never now.

Great simple solution for a smart garage remote!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I did a lot of research regarding smart garage controllers and afterwards decided on this MYQ project, because of the low price and the simplest installation by far. I know a lot of people in the reviews said this doesn't work etc, but all I can say if you follow the App instructions TO A T, it works perfectly well. Yes granted it doesn't give you the options of other products like letting you know if the door is slightly ajar, and that is because of the way the sensor is installed, but like I said, if you want a simple solution and installation, no wiring involved, that will simply OPEN and CLOSE your garage door, and let you know when that happens, this is a great product. The only CON it has is that extremely annoying light and warning sound when the garage closes, but there are ways around bypassing those warnings. Highly recommend this product for the price and simple installation.

Convenient, easy to setup, and inexpensive.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall I am enjoying the product. It works as expected and described. I can control the door anywhere I have internet through the app and also look at history and setup alerts to let me know if the door has been open too long. A few things that are missing; Alexa or Apple HomeKit integration. There’s no way to do any voice command or a quick way to open the door. I bought this to replace a faulty remote and I find that I get home and then have to fumble with my phone to get the door open. They also removed the IFTTT and third part Alexa skills. The watch app is a bit slow to respond, but in fairness it is a first gen Apple Watch. Overall I like the product and it’s an inexpensive way to allow access to your home without smart locks.

easy to use and very helpful!
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was pleasantly surprised with how easy this unit was to set-up and start using! And it's very useful - I never have to wonder if I forgot to close my garage door - I just check my phone and the app tells me if it's open or closed, and I can open/close it directly from the app. I liked it so much I bought a 2nd one for a beach house. However the opener at the beach house was not compatible with the open/close function - I can view if the door is open or closed, but I can't operate it from the app! So if u want to open/close the door from the app check the compatibility on the Chamberlain website in advance. I think most newer openers are compatible with this unit (my opener at the beach is quite old) Price seemed reasonable too

5 stars for price, 1 for reliability = 3
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought it and I’m keeping it.... hear me out. Anything that can help you automate a process or simplify a task, is great; however, the saying “you get what you pay for” is on point here. So here’s the pros: - Relatively Cheap. - Works with most builder-grade garage openers. - App is straight forward to use. Open/Close. And the cons are many: - Terribly frustrating to pair with your garage opener... it even states in the instructions that it might not work from the first time. It took me about two hours over two different days to get it to its current state of working most of the time. - When opening or closing, it will randomly throw errors and force you to reset it by using the original garage opener to open or close the garage. - After opening the garage and going out for a walk, I find myself having to close the app and reopen it before I can close the garage using the app. For whatever reason, it doesn’t update the option to close and/or it just becomes unclickable. - You have to pay a subscription to integrate it with your smart home hub. - You can only Open or Close from the App... you can’t turn off the somewhat annoying beeping noise it makes for 10 seconds before it starts closing. With all that being said, given the price and the basic functionality I needed of not carrying the fob with me on walks, this is something I decided to keep. P.s. if you’re wondering about the math of 3 stars: 5 for relatively affordable smart gadget 1 for terrible reliability 5+1 / 2 = 3 (I like to be fair lol)

Cheap Garage Automation
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This add-on for your garage works really well. The installation was a breeze. Had no issues getting everything going the first time. I have had it stop functioning and had to reinstall to get back working again. This has happened twice. Not sure if I have a wifi issue or this is just a flaw that shows itself every few months. Overall I am happy with this and for the price it was an easy decision. It would be alot better if it integrated with other online automation apps and services.

Almost perfect
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Instillation is unbelievably easy. Setup was nice compared to most smart devices. The app works nicely and is easy to use. The only reason I docked it one star is bc they want to charge a subscription for it to be compatible with google home. Had I known that before Hand, I would have bought a different brand. Sum it up. Works well for stand alone app. Janky if you want to link it to google home with the rest of the devices.

Security and Usefulness at a Great Price
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This product exceeded my expectations. First and foremost, I wanted the security of knowing when/if my garage door was left open with the ability to shut it remotely. This product met those needs at an exceptionally affordable price! Post having it installed for almost a month, the utility of being able to open the garage, at will, while in the yard it surprisingly useful! Things you wouldn't think about like: * Let me go grab an extension cord * I need that extra garden hose. * Returning from walking the dog with, well, a bag of poo that you don't want stinking up the house as you walk through it! Seriously, this is one of the best & cheapest security products you can buy for your house. I have mine set up to automatically ensure my garage is closed every night. The install was very simply and straight forward; velcro the sensor to your garage door, mount the hub somewhere in the garage, program the hub to your door opener... and you are DONE! Are there things I wish it could do, yes! I wish it had manufacturer direct integration with my Samsung SmartThings hub (it does not). ... Honestly, that's my only complaint! If you have a garage door, and let's be honest, if you are reading this review... you DO, then you could benefit from this device! I haven't done it yet, but apparently Amazon is currently offering a gift card if you allow one of their delivery drivers to deliver into your garage via "Amazon Key", which allows them to use this device to open your garage door for delivery. I will likely do this "sometime", but I haven't yet. So, in summary, yes, this device not only met, but exceeded my expectations. It's very handy, very easy to install and secure! I would strongly recommend this product. If you have a Best Buy Rewards that you do not know what to do with... use them on this... it's seriously what I did and I am very thankful!

Awesome Smart Addition
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Installation was pretty straight-forward, however, I ran into a compatibility issue with my particular opener. I have a Wayne Dalton motor that was listed as compatible, but for some reason, it would not connect. Luckily, I ran into a compatibility issue with my Ford truck's in-car device, and as a result, had to purchase the Wayne Dalton Car2U adapter kit. On a hunch, I tried to connect the hub to the adapter instead of to the motor and that worked. Without the Car2U adapter, this unit would have not worked. Once installed, it is very simple to operate. Use the app to open and close the door. Very simple. The app does not support geofencing, so the garage door will not automatically open once your near the house (this is a good thing though). Whether the door is open or closed, the app shows a timer as to how long it has been in it's current state. You can set up alerts so you are informed, for example, that your door has been open for x number of minutes (increments of 5 minutes are choosable). At first, I found the loud beeping and light flashing on the unit annoying when closing the door. For about 10 seconds prior to the door actually closing, the unit flashes and loudly beeps. Because this is a safety feature to let people in your garage know it is about to close (in case you decide to close it remotely) you can't disable it. It's loud enough to get your attention, but not too loud to cause a disturbance, so I am actually fine with it. Plus, I have two young kids and even though my garage door has the safety sensors, I was able to teach them what the beeping means. Apparently this works with Alexa via a skill, but reading reviews on the skill, I decided not to enable it. It's just as easy to tap the icon in the app to open and close the door. If you have more than one door, you can have multiple doors in the app that can be operated independently. Overall, very happy with the hub so far and it has always worked flawlessly for us.

Setup was a snap with the MyQ app
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Extremely easy and fast setup using the app on my android phone! It works exactly as it is supposed to. It took maybe 15 minutes to install and set up the whole thing for my Liftmaster garage door opener. I have it set up to alert me when the garage door is opened or closed and I can check my phone anytime and anywhere I have cell service or wifi for the current status of the door. It even shows what time each event occurred. A great buy for the price!

Nice addition to the house
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Installing this was quick and easy. Like how i could control my garage door with my phone instead of getting additional remotes. I also like to see if i even closed my door which i tend to get paranoid about. However, do notice there is a lag that says i just closed my door even though i closed it 10 minutes ago

A must have for your garage
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am so impressed with this Smart Garage Hub. So easy to use and set up. You do not have to be handy to get this installed on your garage. It is so reassuring to be able to see if your garage door is shut from anywhere. I bought two more, one for my brother and one for our second garage. I cannot say enough good things about the MyQ Smart Hub. Such a good deal on pricing for piece of mind. A big bang for you buck.

MyQ Smart Garage Hub works like a charm.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Have an older version of this on a second garage. This version was much easier to set up. Made the internet connections and connections to the door sensor very easily. Was up and running in 15 minutes. So far running great. You can get alerts when the door opens, closes or both. You can open or close it remotely and tell whether the door is open or closed from anywhere. Also the price was half what I paid several years ago for the first one. Love it.
