This is a great backup when I don’t have a remote handy. It was easy to install. I can look at the app to see how long my garage door has been open or closed, and close or open it remotely. It will, however, depend on your phone’s internet connection if you aren’t near wifi, or can’t pick your wifi outside your house. I got tired of waiting to login so I could activate the door after parking in my driveway and am using a regular remote again. If Amazon garage delivery was available in my area, I could use it for that. I like being able to check that my door is closed. You can set the app to send you notifications about opening and closings. If something is blocking the safety “eyes” on your door, it’s not going to close, of course, and the app blocks repeated attempts to close the door as a safety feature.

I always thought I had to replace the whole garage unit for me to operate my garage doors using my phone or Alexa. Luckily a friend recommended this product to me and I have not regretted adding it to part of my smart device arsenal. I must hasten to say it was easy to install and easy to use. It has proved to be a valuable addition.

Easy to install. It Is exactly what I expected. Great price. Only issue I had setting it up was that the instructions in the box want you to log into their website to create a user ID and. password. then when submit you get an error message. So I just went directly to the app and completed the set up. Same thing happened to my son when we set his up. Not a big dead. Good Luck

Got this during Black Friday sale for $30. Easy set up and it works well enough to open and close the garage door remotely, which is what I wanted. It’s not compatible with Alexa or Apple but it’s a simple device and the app is easy enough to use. Worth the price but not much more.

This is a life saver. I have lost count how many times I left the house only to return making sure I closed the garage door. No more. This unit helps keep garage door shut and notify you if you so desire. Installation was a breeze. Came with everything you would need to make it work. Thanks.

Not sure why some users are finding it hard to setup. With the latest MYQ app it’s pretty much plug n play. Just followed the steps in app and it was mounted and functional in less than 10 minutes. App is great and provide reliable notifications. I have security cameras installed already and can confirm that I haven’t received any false alarms and or notifications.

Had the myQ dedicated garage doors and then sadly we moved to a place that had perfectly good openers but not wifi connected. This was a simple setup and poof! We had our control of our garage doors remotely again. Its nice also to interface with our amazon deliveries. It has saved our packages from rain a couple times already

Works as advertised. You can remotely open and close the door, monitor the status of the door and connect it to different home automation services/devices and smart assistants. Although it is not mentioned anywhere in the description, there is a nominal recurring fee to connect to some services and devices. The hub WILL work just fine without any additional connections. The installation was easy. The instructions that came with the MyQ were clear and concise. At one point in the installation you are directed to go into the app and follow the directions. When you go into the app, some of the earlier steps are repeated. You can just start with the app and complete all the steps on the app to complete the entire install. I did have a minor hiccup when after the first install, the device disappeared from my MyQ account. I had to reconnect it to the app and pair it to the door sensor and the garage opener once again. It has worked fine since. I would recommend this device to anyone looking to make their garage door opener smart.

Hardware/functionality wise, this device is perfect. Download an app, click a button, and your garage opens or closes. But when it comes to getting the MyQ app to play nice with others, (HomeKit, Google Assistant, Alexa, IFTTT) it gets a little cumbersome. You have to buy a $70 bridge to get HomeKit to work, Google Assistant has trouble toggling the state of the garage door, and IFTTT can’t open it. To get your voice assistants to do exactly what you want them to, you have to mess around with several apps, such as Simple Commands. So to have google open your garage, you have to tell Google to tell IFTTT to tell Simple Commands to tell MyQ. Only other complaint is that it can’t support three garages, and you need another hub, but you can get three to work with just another hub, so it’s not that bad. It just needs these quality of life software updates and this thing would be perfect.

This product has not been very reliable for me. I purchased this so I could allow remote access to my garage if anyone needed it. We have a keypad outside but that makes me have to program a temporary code if I know someone needs entry or give out the code we use. The keypad has been outside in the weather and was starting to show its age. I have tried a few locations for the transmitter in my garage and none seem to be consistent. I did find that having the transmitter too close to the opener worked the least. I have contacted support a few times but afterwards it works but days later it may stop. I power cycle the transmitter occasionally and reconnect the door sensors. If I keep up with that it seems to work more reliably

This door controller was very easy to setup and does a great job monitoring and controlling my four garage doors. I especially like being able to set alerts to tell me if I have left the doors open, especially at night. And being able to check the door status on my phone from anywhere I have cell service is a great feature.

My original Vivint garage door part was not compatible with new garage door opener. Needed this in order to restore connectivity between my Vivint alarm system and garage door opener. This was cheaper than buying MyQ full system.

So after looking over several options to automate my garage door, I decided on the Chamberlain. I strongly recommend you read the set up directions first as they are very specific in the order you must do things and several reviewers have warned against failing to follow the steps. Once set up, this unit is fairly simple to use and i have not had any issues. I have a wifi extension module in my garage so signal strength is not an issue. If you have a weak signal in your garage, I would suggest a booster/repeater module. What I don't like is that you are confined to the app only unless you pay a fee to have the garage module tied into IFTT or geo fencing with your phone. Granted the fee is only $10 per year, but everyone else offers this for free. Also, there is no standard Alexa integration (unless you get highly creative) which is most unfortunate and a missed opportunity. If anyone from Chamberlain sees this, please get with the program and add Echo support.

This is one of the best additions to the growing number of devices that I have added to my smart home platform. It has been flawless. I know exactly when the garage doors have been opened and closed. It is nice to know when the kids are coming and going. It was fairly easy to install. I would highly recommend.

So far, so good! Easy to install and link to WiFi. Nice to be able to control and verify the door from afar. Even convinced my daughter to get one and we installed it with no problems. Haven't tried to link her door to my phone and vice versa. That would be very cool!

My remote was very old and the rubber button got dry rot over time. I checked remotes and replacements were about $40 to $50, I got the Chamberlain for about $33 . Super awesome, works way better. I can check to make sure Garage is closed, sends notifications when opened. Pretty awesome!!

Fast easy set. Garage door security And peace of mind. That cost less than lunch today. Remote Open/close door access is unbelievably convenient. If friends or family need access I easily remotely allow access through my garage door. It’s beautiful technology that simplifying my life for less that the cost of lunch.

I love this thing! I still can't believe the price. It is so convenient to be able to let any family or friends over without being home. Super easy install as well with no complications. My only regret is not getting this sooner!

Excellent product! We had one remote to our garage and were LwYs getting locked out. This gadget was easy to set up and now we both can open the garage and don’t even need the remote. Nice to get notifications too- never forget to shut the garage as we can shut it from anywhere

This little garage hack is awesome, very easy to setup. It will notify you of the garage door is open, you can open/close your garage door from anywhere. Plus Amazon will give you $30 to sign up for Amazon package delivery in your garage. It’s a great buy when it’s on sale @ $29.
