Bad Service

Since we don't know anything about them we asked that he go purchase them and return to install. After a week with no response, I called the help number and waited 30 minutes to get an answer, they gave me his number. I called him and he stated he had the remote and receiver and could be here on following Wednesday. On Wednesday, he did not show up so I called. He responded on Thursday stating he had been exposed to covid and could not come. He did send me a text with the receiver and remote he recommended. I think the service we received should be concerning to Best Buy and would/will not recommend it to anyone in the future. It has been 3 weeks since we asked for help and paid $100 and we still do not have the situation fixed. Even if I go purchase the receiver and remote I still need help setting everything up but am afraid to use Best Buy now.

Bogus product

Geek squad came and almost conquered

Unresolved problem

Issue is still not resolved, and got worse each time they came. They "installed" (taped one piece to back of TV and it subsequently fell) the equipment that they assured me would work (and that I paid for), but problem returned each time within an hour or so. Poor quality and problem remains unsolved. Now I'm waiting for another company to come and solve the issue, including the problems Geek Squad caused. VERY DISAPPOINTED!!!!! Time "window" I was given for service was 7pm. Was told they would call when they were on the way (which they did). But asking someone to sit at home for 12 hours waiting to hear from them is ridiculous.

Disappointed with this experience with Geek Squad

The apparent leader of the GS decided in about 3-4 minutes that the problem was that my cable box had died, and that I needed to call for a replacement. I then asked a question about an easier way to handle cable and two streaming services. His answer was that a Roku would take care of it, but it might be a little tricky. And they would be happy to come back by at no cost to help me if I couldn't make it work. The two GS guys left after about 15 minutes. I bought the Roku and got stuck part way through the installation. Left messages, but no response. And the real kicker in this was that there wasn't anything wrong with the cable box. Spectrum fixed it remotely, and that cleared up problems I had receiving both cable and streaming. And now I have a Roku that might be nice, but I can't figure out how to get it to deal with one of the streaming services. I've had good success with the GS before, but not this time. It felt like they leapt to a conclusion so they could be on their way quickly.

Have no clue how to record something, and I also had to go get a new TV for upstairs. I hooked that up myself. I think I should get credit for one Geek Squad call.
