Nightmare
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.This has honestly been a nightmare. We were excited about a new kitchenaide oven. We went with Best Buy because they had it in stock. We purchased the oven, haul away service, as well as installation on aug 13 for a total of about $2850. We scheduled the delivery/installation for aug 18. The installation team came on time, but before they even removed my oven to measure, they claimed they didn’t think it would fit. They took it out, wnd claimed that it would be a code violation because we have a gas cooktop right above it, and it needed more clearance. The new oven never even entered my home. They took it back and told me to start the refund process the next day. When I attempted to get our refund, I was unable to. I chatted with online customer service where they informed me that the installation team had marked my oven DELIVERED and installed. They were unable give me a refund because it was documented that I still had the oven. The online chat was unable to solve the problem. They told me the would put it under “escalated investigation” and I should hear from someone within 24-72 hours. Seven days later I hadn’t heard from anyone. I went back to the online customer service chat where they were, once again, unable to help. They gave me a number to call. I spent approx 90 mins on the phone where I found out they had never put my case under investigation to begin with! After being transferred multiple times, I finally spoke to someone who could put it under investigation. The next day I got an email notifying me of a partial refund of the haul away and installation cost I had paid, but not a refund for the $2500 oven! The email stated that once the oven was returned to the store, I could get the rest of the refund. I had to call customer service again, was transferred half a dozen times, having to go on hold between each call, then having to explain my situation with each new representative. Finally, after 2 hours and 15 minutes, I was able to file a claim with a third party company that would investigate the claim. Two days later, on sept 2nd, we received our remaining refund. We went into the store to schedule a measuring to see which ovens would fit. A half hour away they called us to see what service we needed and we explained our situation. They stated the store had scheduled us for a home theater measurement and they were unable to measure for an oven. This was a day that I cancelled things so I could be home for the measurement. The real kicker is that we finally decided to go with went another company. We bought the same oven, where they said it was NOT a code violation and the installation team from Best Buy should have been able to install the oven without a problem. I will never shop at Best Buy again. We were without an oven in a family of 9 for WEEKS while they refused to return our money. I spent about 5 hours either on the phone or online chat trying to get our money back, plus the time I had to be at home for the measurement team that never actually did the measuring. I will warn family a d friends.
