    I bought a bunch of stuff from Best Buy. After a couple of months I found out that they did not put the Protection Plan on my refrigerator, but did manage to get it on my other things I bough. I found out because I wanted something checked and called Best Buy. Now they won't honor putting it on. It is obvious i would have gotten it based on my getting it on everything else. They tell me to go to the store...I don't live by there anymore and don't have the transportation to get there. They also say there is no way to call the actual store and talk to them. This is ridiculous and lousy customer service. I don't think I will continue to buy from them and will tell others the same.

    TV repair

    TV repair is done but had to wait for a month to get it repaired because of various reasons they are aware of. I waited for a month for repair appointment but agent couldn’t wait for more than 20 mins to address my concern. Had me contacted with his manager Paul who will speak nicely but there is no value addition he can do other than giving fake promises. Geek squad customer care is another frustration , i have to give the history of my service request each time i call them. They cannot schedule a service request properly and cannot address any customer issues . I happened to speak to multiple people ( calling them several times) to schedule a simple service request. Customer associate supervisors as well couldn’t resolve my concerns or issues. Supervisors also cannot add value to the team. Issue # 1: First service appointment is scheduled wrong . Got the first appointment after several attempts of calling customer care. Kevin the agent came to troubleshoot the issue and made guesses of possible issue and completed the appointment saying Geek squad doesn’t support non best buy customers or do not have geek squad protection plan. Issue #2 Geek squad Agent supervisor Mr. Paul realized the issue later and scheduled a follow up service request as actual appointment. Tim the Agent ( like him for his technical abilities) understands the issue and request for a powerboard replacement. This part is ordererd ( may be by supervisor Mr. Paul) but at price $70 more than the online price. When asked about price discount he unable to help me by giving me fake proposal of checking with his supervisors. Tried calling him back but no response from then. Overall a lengthy and bad experience in getting the service done by Geek Squad.

    Faulty installation leads to appointment trouble.

    Geek squad is great "when it works." Did nice job with my computer. When installing two TV's they did fine job except they forgot to check out if blu ray player had sound. It didn't. 1st refused any help over phone and said they couldn't schedule an appointment. When I complained, they referred me. Estimated wait time of 19 minutes was actually 50. Scheduled an appointment. Continued to see if I could resolve myself with help from a techie relative. 8 hours later, we solved the problem. Next day called Sony and they gave a complete explanation. Seems HDMI can be set to standard or enhanced. Need to see if setting works before installation is complete. Best Buy didn't check. Now tried to cancel the appointment. Can't cancel online. Have to call. After supposed wait of 3 minutes turned into 15, they hung up. Tried again. Same thing happened almost exactly like the 1st time. Terrible process and still have not been able to cancel an unneeded appointment. As I say, Geek Squad is fine when it works. When trouble arises, expect long headaches.
