This solved the problem and power is stable. So far, there is no problem at all.

I made the mistake of purchasing so I could plug in my laptop while on the road. Caused both the computer and the plug to get extremely hot and the plug started to smoke. Thank goodness I was able to save my computer from frying as well. Terrible item for Best Buy to carry and promote. Very disappointed!

I spilled coke in it the other day and it's still working for be. ( wouldn't recommend doing that lol)
