This device feels very bare bones with a touch of " I hope this thing isn't lagging out so hard I don't know what's going on". It works over the wifi in your house and if it's not hard wired it has seemed less responsive than it should be.

Keep in mind that video responsiveness depends on the resources available in your network. We suggest that you alter the Video Settings of the camera so it takes up less resources, which will result in faster responsiveness. You can do this by logging into the camera's settings and clicking on the Video tab located in Setup. Here you can adjust FPS (frame rate) and the resolution to suit your optimal needs. We also suggest that you minimize the number of walls and ceilings between your router and camera and that you keep the router and camera away from appliances such as phones, microwaves, and other objects that contain water and metal. If you continue to experience difficulties please contact D-Link technical support at www.support.dlink.com so they can further assist you in resolving your issues. We thank you for choosing D-Link.
