    Difficult to install without DLINK router

    Camera is designed to install with DLINK router. It was considerably more difficult with a Netgear router. The downloaded software wouldn't work with my Lenova Yoga computer. When I called for support, they said my computer was considered a tablet, so some of the necessary "buttons" didn't show up. I finally was able to install camera using my wife's Lenova all-in-one computer. Camera requires memory card to be able to playback video. I bought a 64 megabyte memory card but the camera (or software) doesn't recognize it. I may try a card with less memory. The online advice indicates that the camera is only able to use 2 megs at a time. Not sure what that means. Maybe someday I'll find out. Also, the software to view the real time video is tempermental. It sometimes takes several minutes to load. I often get a message that I'm using an old version of Java or some other software, even though I'm using the current version. It's been timeconsuming and frustrating and all I can do is view live video some of the time on some of my devices. I'm going to try a Netgear camera next.

    When the camera is operational, it works very well. I like the spanning feature. However, it is down more than it is up and running. Returned it after two weeks.

    This really took some doing to set this device up. Especially troubling was that it would not connect to any FTP server until I did an update to the device. AN UPDATE OF THE DEVICE IS A MUST!!! Once you do that it really works well and has good optical characteristics.

    Tried it, not satisfied with it and was returned. Good video with good lighting for daylight use. 15-20 ft. Limited range for nighttime use with LED infrared still results in poor video quality. Pan and Tilt extremely noisy and NO ZOOM feature.

    HD quality is marginal but better than 640x480

    Installation takes a few hours thr trial and error. Doc comes with the cam is brief. Build quality is good but the unit cannot be placed outdoor. The camera head is exposed to the element. When position the camera to "see" thr' windows, it works fine during daytime. But at nite, reflections from indoor light or outdoor light will mess up the image and renders it useless. This is an indoor camera.

    You might have to check with there tech desk to set this up,but in saying that the tech desk is very helpful and the item works well when set up properly

    It took support 3 hours to set this up with me on my computer, recently did an update on computer and device is no longer recognized on my phone or computer again so I will have to call and go through the set up again with support and lose my precious time. Don't buy this model, not worth it.

    These puppies have been superb, and haven't failed me yet. Two way voice capability, and HD recording. Absolutely love them. I've now acquired 4 of these!!!!

    When we purchased this device, I thought we would be able to adjust the angle from my phone. This has so far proven impossible. Every time we hit the adjustment button on the bottom, it tells us we need to download the most recent software. We have done this and downloaded the software about 5 times now to no avail. This would be a great camera for homes in areas where the police department require verified response. If you were contacted that your alarm was going off, you could instantly log on and see if anyone was in your home. IF you could adjust the angle. It would also be nice if it came in different colors. Screaming white doesn't blend in with everyone's decor.

    This is a great security camera system. It is a little difficult to setup and get the firmware updated but once that is complete everything works great. The video and audio recording quality are excellent. The talk back function is delayed and difficult to use. It provides a great sense of security while away because it can notify you of any motion or noise detected in the area. Overall this is a great product and I would highly recommend it.

    The D-Link 5222-L is a pretty good Camera for the price. The PTZ functionality is great, but the software interface leaves much to be desired. I made the mistake of downloading the latest firmware at initial setup (as prompted by the software) and that started several hours of frustration because the camera would not connect wirelessly. I went online and searched up the problem, Turns out I had to downgrade the firmware back to original (3 versions old) to get the camera to connect wirelessly. The wifi receiver in this camera requires a pretty strong signal to stay connected and to operate the Pan and Tilt functions. I ended up adding another WIFI Access point to my network just to be able to stay connected to this camera.

    I really wanted a camera with a remote pan and tilt feature and the D-Link product had it and the price was good. However, it was somewhat difficult to set up - you have to connect it to your modem via cable before you can use the wireless connection. Once it was up and running it worked well. The remote pan and tilt function was a little noisy and slow but what disappointed me was the picture quality. Even with every light in the room turned on, the picture quality wasn't very good. I purchased a Drop Cam and that picture quality is so much better that there is no comparison. Also the android app to control the camera was difficult to use. I returned the D-Link camera. I didn't keep it long enough to rate the recording capacity, I assume it is average.

    We bought this item to be able to keep an eye on our sleeping granddaughter while sitting outside. We were able to control the unit from outside our home and keep an eye on her. Would recommend. I even logged on from about 20 miles away and could control it. Great product. Needed help setting up. Called customer service and they were excellent!
