Worked for less than an hour!

The packaging did not seem correct. There were no installation instructions or CD as web page states is included. I tried to install using app, however it did not work. Called tech support and was able to get it up and running. Worked for maybe an hour and is now dead. Will contact Best Buy and request replacement. Will also verify it is new and not refurbished. When it did work it seemed ok, however with an hour run time it is hard to tell if motion and sound alerts work.

It's Ok, but leaves much to be desired.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Mobile viewing, panning and tilting from your phone or remote computer works. So does the two way audio, but the onboard speaker is too quiet. It can also get laggy, even over fast internet connections, but it’s still tolerable. Video quality is good. You can also set it to record 24/7 to another device on your LAN, such as network storage (NAS), that way you’re not limited to an SD card. (If you do though, you won’t be able to view recordings remotely without another means of accessing your LAN.) Motion detecting works, if you’ve got a pet it may require trial and error with the sensors. The ability to alert you to sounds is really cool! I set mine up so it sends email notifications with video clips of such events as attachments, including up to 3 seconds before the event. I’ve got those clips set to be higher quality than the typical monitoring quality that gets saved to my NAS. The mycloud interface on the web and mobile app is mostly limited to viewing and controlling the camera. To do anything useful with this camera you really need to login to the firmware, which reads like it was very poorly translated and really holds back this camera from what it could be. In the firmware, you can only set just two unique “events” to control when and why alerts are triggered. Other than timing it or logging in each morning, there is no easy way to “arm” the camera when you leave the house. Also, there is no onboard alarm to trigger any sort of panic – looks like that’s an external attachment, and another purchase. Maybe I’ll have to try this customer support that other folks speak so highly of… I’ve had it for a week and I still can’t figure out how to program paths for the camera to follow when I’m not home, though presumably you can do that. I also can’t get it to reset to a default position after I log out of my mobile app. That would be nice because the lag makes it really tough to control and I don’t want it to record my ceiling for half the day. Final thoughts: I expect a little more from D-Link. It’s a good camera and the pan and tilt features give me reason to keep it, but I’ll be looking for other products to supplement it. They need to get some English-speaking proofers, remove some of the pointless firmware limitations, and incorporate more of the advanced features into the mycloud web interface and/or mobile app.

Train Wreck

I called D-Link for assistance and they would not help unless I paid a service fee?? On a new product?? OK!!! LOL needless to say the camera when right back to the store that day. Don't waist your time..

Great Camera Bad App

D-Link is a horrible camera system!

But they lose connection all the time, cameras go down ALL the time even though the app shows them to be working fine. Image is blurry and fuzzy, good luck trying to actually recognize anyone.

install is not great

I guess I either need to un-install it and start fresh or get in touch with tech support if they have one? Hours of reboots and re-installs of Java looping but little progress
