Great camera good quality and fuction

This process was one of the best tech support experiences I have had from any source.

The process was long- but she was patient and helpful. We even were disconnected and she called back twice which was a big relief so I didn't have to start over.

Good camera hard to configure but am adding 3 more
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had this camera for 4 days. It has taken that long and 6 calls to D-Link. The tech support people were very nice, but most could not solve my problems but got me close enough to let me solve it by trial and error. Each of the 6 calls was for a different problem. I am tech savy. I also have my cameras on a WI-FI network without internet access; because my internet connection if cellular and I can't afford the data to connect to the cloud. I got the camera up and running immediately. But my computer was an old AMD 2.3 GH with 4GB RAM free. The picture kept freezing. Tech support said this was unusual and could not solve problem, but they did not ask about the computer. An Intel 2.3GH with 4GB RAM worked just fine. Next I wanted to use SD card. The user manual from the internet did not make it clear what to do. Tech support did solve that problem after 30 min as it was a configuration problem. I must have gone through 4 or more iterations of attempts before we got it right. Then the camera was recording continuously. Tech support could not solve this after over an hour. I finally gave up and solved it myself. If you have set up cameras before then this one may be easy. The user manual from the internet was for a different version of the software than what came up when you accessed the camera. That was probably the main reason for my difficulty. I love the camera, its features are great, has all the options that I considered necessary. I am getting 3 more.

New Install

Trying to install by myself wasn't going very well, but he saved the day. Looking forward to using camera and comparing to old Panasonic I am replacing..

great camera

I bought 2 of these. I installed the camera quickly, but was told I needed Java script for my mac to view video. I went to my windows computer, and it automatically played the camera video as soon as I signed in to my dlink account. How easy was that? Placed the camera in my window, and it not only showed my front yard, but across the street. Beautiful. clear video. Great buy for the money.

time wasted
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I specifically asked the guy at best buy for a camera system that had an off site cloud recording service, as I'm of the belief that any burglar with an intelligence level above half-wit will simply also steal your recording device. So maybe it's his fault and not really a reflection of the camera's qualities that my time was wasted. D-Link sells recording devices that you can use to create your own personal cloud. However, if a burglar steals this device, which the video of their actions are recorded on, you are out of luck. D-Link does not have a cloud recording service. I waited 45 minutes on hold with tech support to find this out. They told me there are 3rd party services that will do this but wouldn't give me the names of any. I tried googling it and found nothing. I could probably peruse forums for the next few hours and find a way to do it. I'm sure people who are familiar with this would have no problem but I didn't want to turn setting this up into an all day affair. Incidentally, the light that was supposed to go solid green on the camera never did. The chances of me calling tech support to wait on hold for another 45 min to solve this are pretty low. Returning it. Going to try a brand that has a cloud RECORDING service.

Unreliable

Reliability diminished over time and no longer works after 6 weeks. Customer support told me I needed to physically rest the unit. It is 1800 miles away!

I was running the setup wizard for A all along. Called phone support and got Misha C6847692, a very patient and easy to talk to young lady. Got everything straighten out and was very happy with the camera now that is working.
