Ran diagnostics on hardware, no issues found, Malware scan found 2 threats and removed them. Data was successfully transferred to the HDD.

Don't know what we would do without the help of the Geek Squad. They moved data from our back-up equipment to our new computer quickly. The new computer works great!

Transfer of data from old computer to new....was very frustrating. Took 3 or 4 return trips to get it right. I explained to each Geek Squad member that I dealt with that I am very "modern technology challenged"...and unfamiliar with a lot of terms/words used. All but the very last tech....seemed to have little patience and/or take time to understand what and how I wanted the data from old computer transferred i.e. email folders and addresses....home page "MSN" with favorites etc. Fortunately, the last agent (I believe his name is Miles) was extremely helpful and patient. Thank you for him.

On January 22nd I came to your store with my Dell laptop seeking to purchase a SSD drive to improve performance on the compute. This upgrade had been recommended by a Geek Squad representative in an earlier remote session with me. I was directed to the Geek Squad section where I met with Miguel. After a look at the Dell’s systems, Miguel recommended a Samsung 870 EVO 1 TB Internal SSD SATA. He described two options: 1: to install the SSD after wiping the existing hard drive, and 2: installing the SSD while “ cloning” the old drive so as to save my programs and data, then wiping the existing drive. We selected option 2, even though it was more expensive. I left the laptop with him expecting the job would take about 2-3 says and checked out. I felt that Miguel was professional, knowledgeable and personable during my time with him. I am very pleased with the SSD. Here is the review I gave it on your survey: “This SSD drive brought my clunky, slow Dell laptop out of the 19th Century into a swift and quickly responsive 21st Century. I love it. It saves me valuable time and removes the frustration of waiting for transactions to happen. If you are in that kind of hole, get a SSD and this one is a winner. The installation by the Geek Squad was something else, again. I will review that separately.” I had a very different experience when I picked up the laptop on January 24th from Jackson at the Geek Squad department. He opened the laptop to show me the desktop. I was expecting to see my familiar start-tup Icons. He said they could not transfer programs because they were proprietary but he assured me the data was there. He offered me the old hard drive that was wiped and I declined. I left realizing that would have some easy work re-installing the programs like Quicken, Word and Outlook. HOW WRONG I WAS! Today is February 17. I have spent many hours each day since January 25 finding old data, downloading and re-installing programs, solving interface issues between new and old systems, and locating data in an external hard drive I had used as back-up. First of all, the old hard drive had Windows 11. What I got back was Windows 10. So, I had to re-install it, which took hours. Then there were quirky problems like old passwords that did not work and program websites that tried to make me pay for programs I already owned. It took three days to work Quicken out. Microsoft 365 would download and I could get Word and Note, but not Outlook. My son, who is an IT specialist with a master’s degree, could not get Outlook back. We had to go to Thunderbird, a free program substitute.. Then it took a day to find and import my old e-mail messages, again from that external back-up drive. It took two days to figure out how to import my webmail address book into Thunderbird. Finally, today. I had time to write this letter. I am writing today to vent my frustration and to seek some recompense from Best Buy. My original drive was not cloned, my data was not saved and transferred. In the past several years I have bought a microwave, a laptop, a Samsung TV and the SSD from BEST BUY. Please give a regular customer some satisfaction!

I had used Geek Squad previously when another laptop was not working. Brought in a laptop that was not functioning properly. I confirmed approximate costs for the review, purchase of external device and transfer. The Agent reviewed the problem, showed me what was wrong and made my decision. My experience with them have generally been positive thus far. Will use them again if my friend or I could not fix it. Besides, allows me to go shopping at Best Buy and maybe purchase a product.

The in-house Geek Squad was very quick and easy for transferring data from my old computer to my I-Mac, and made it very reassuring. Would use the service again.

Geek Squad backed up from old hard drive to new ... I would NEVER have been able to do it. Only thing was I had to reinstall all my games. :(

I was unable to back up my computer at home, so Geek Squad had a way to back up for me. Appreciate that I didn’t lose my treasured pictures and important files.

The guys behind the Geek Squad counter did a GREAT job transferring my info. The explained exactly what they were going to do and informed what they did when completed.

I needed my data backed up, and the service was great. It was done over the weekend, and was much faster than what I could have done on my own.

They did everything they could to get my info but had to take it Somewhere else

Okay, this isn't a high end, flashy laptop, but for the money, it is a great bang for the buck machine. It's good enough for surfing the web and productivity.

On time and a month later, all files seem to be where they should.

As I was worried about the data on my laptop being lost, I was very happy to have the Agent obtain a the flash drive and to perform the back up function for me.

Our backup took longer than was planned. The Geek Squad said it was because it was a Apple product. It did get done, however, and was helpful.

Our old computer was locked up with a "ransom password", so we had to purchase a new one. Geeks removed the hard drive and transferred all data. We are to grateful!
