I am no computer genius but this thing is great. Had it for just over a week and runs way better than the cardboard box I was using before this. RGB lights timing out very fast is annoying but dosnt affect performance.

I bought this while it was on sale for $200 off. It is a great machine. Of course specs matter and I shopped around looking for a similar hardware and may have been able to get the same spec cheaper but location of ports matters greatly to me. Particularly the power, video, and network. While still heavy in comparison to other laptops, I'm very impressed with how light this 17.3" is. Man, the display is really beautiful too. I will say the power brick is a real "chunker" but you've got to be able to feed that RTX2070 Super. I would highly recommend this machine if you can get it again on sale. It also didn't hurt that I got my rewards points to then spend on something else to boot making it an even better deal.

but do what others have said, go through and make sure to update everything, follow their list and you are good

The system is very sleek and nice looking. Keyboard is pretty nice to type on. RGB lights are also great if you're into that. The 300hz screen I thought looked great but I wasn't able to test if it could get 300 frames per second. The thermals on this thing are atrocious. After about 5 minutes of playing Dauntless, the system would throttle and my framerate would drop to like 15 frames per second until the system has cooled down a bit, then it would throttle itself again. I played an older game like Overwatch and experienced the same thing. Some of this can be controlled by undervolting but the current Dell system bios has undervolting locked due to plundervolt exploits. It is possible to downgrade the bios to an earlier version that allows you to undervolt but your system is less secure. You'll also have to either disable all firmware updates in the bios or stop Microsoft system updates otherwise you're bios will automatically get updated to the latest bios (that has undervolting locked). If you're a tinkerer and can get an amazing deal, it might be worth trying. But for me if I am paying this much I want it to work right out of the box. I returned it after three days of use.

I love all the features of this laptop Dell G7 so i went for it. I'm writing to you on it everything is so fast and easy and sound & Picture are crisp and clear. super fast for every need. I give it 5 stars.

I got this a year ago and I wish I could return it. It runs super hot, the camera is terrible, sound is not all that and its pretty heavy. My charging cord fell apart pretty fast and battery life is terrible. This was my first gaming pc...I regret it.

Even though the reviewers may not like it’s performance I have found it a very competent machine on running everything business related as well as graphics intensive games such as call of duty.

Well, I love the large screen, that was about the only thing I can back on this. Bought it and my younger brother uses it now. Only now the 2nd nvme slot no longer reads. I assume because it cant handle the heat from the nvme? I am not sure. Only have it since February so that is a minor let down. Overall it is a decent laptop.

Fast Unit, but be aware of the following limitations: 2021 G7 7700--General FYI Limitations I hope this saves someone time researching. Contacted Dell Support the new 2021 G7 7700 has several limitations that are standard on most other Dell's: 1. The built in Camera is incompatible with Windows Hello Security Sign-in. This is because it only has a single lens at top of lid. Windows hello requires a 3-D feature and requires two lenses at top of lid. 2. G7 does not incorporate a finger scanner in the power button. So, no way to sign-in with finger print. 3. Function key F5 in the new keyboard layout for 2021 has been changed and no longer supports <start> or <stop> for multimedia, like for YouTube if you are using multiple windows and do not wish to switch between windows (like when working in a CAD program). There is no way to start/stop YouTube video using a function key any longer. A macro cannot replace this function because there is substitution keystroke for this prior F5 function. If anyone has a work around for any of the above, please reply. But, this was from tech support at dell that confirmed all of the above. Too bad Dell did not include these features! Bummer. Fast everything - after adjusting startup to eliminate unnecessary apps. This is a second purchase of same model. Nothing but positive - setup, startup, running apps are all first class...thanks Dell!

Graphics are beyond expectations for only fhd. Decent battery life and ok value compared to Alienware.

Overall, not a bad product. I gave 3/5 review due to overheating issue. If you want something on the go, at least to some extent, this is not a good option at all. I have an Asus ROG Zypherus laptop and its loaded with Nvidia GTX 1070 graphic card and I never experience the same as I had with this laptop. Unfortunately, had to return this one.

Quick large format workhorse. everything I expected so far, quick startup and relatively issue-less experience. doing lots of work with .Stl files (meshes) no lag. another great product from Dell.

Awesome laptop, outside of it having features you can’t use like Alienware OC and the fact that it absolutely needs a laptop cooler it’s a great buy.

Great laptop for what I need it for using CAD! Has enough power to run all my programs fast and efficiently! Sacrifice the weight for the power, but overall very satisfied with this Dell!

Computer is fast and good for gaming. A little more than I wanted to spend, but we’ll worth it

This is an excellent laptop. Only issue was I did not receive the bonus Xbox pass that was offered with the laptop at the time of purchase but the system it self was still worth it.

I watched plenty videos from YouTube about this gaming laptop. They mentioned it was very worthy and great buy. I want a laptop with big screen-17.3”, and it fit my budge.

Honestly in love with the design. Runs programs very smooth and quickly, thought the 17 in would have been to big but honestly works perfectly! Has a good weight to is as well :)
