Great laptop

We originally purchased a dell g7 and the thermal throttling on it was atrocious when gaming. This laptop is amazing it can be loud when the fans are in full blast but it works great at keeping the system cool when gaming.

I have had the laptop for a week and am in love with the quality of the graphics. It works well for making videos, graphics programs and gaming. I have no cons to list at this time and definitely recommend this laptop.

I’ve contacted the printer manufacturer, the internet provider, Dell, and the Killer wireless company. I’ve gotten no solutions and a poor response from Dell. It’s very frustrating as I understand this is an issue several ppl have with these computers. The number keypad also chooses to not work at times. At this price point I expected better.

Solid right out of the box

Turn intel turbo boost off and download all drivers and bios and you’ll stay at a steady 50 degrees Celsius. I love this laptop and it’s super thin.

I was happy with the in-store GeekSquad transferring my info from my older computer to this computer quickly as I needed it up and running every day. I have two external monitors and it is handling the monitors well.

Wanted to love it

I wrestled with Alienware Command Center to uninstall / clean install it, then made sure to set the thermal profile to COOL. I only played 1 game on it - WoW TBC Classic. * I set the video to 10 and limited FPS to 100, it would run for a few minutes and eventually throttle down to 15 FPS and usually bounce back up after 3-5 minutes. * So I set the video to 5 and limited FPS to 100, it would run for a few minutes and eventually throttle down to 15 FPS. * So I set the video to 3 and limited FPS to 100 and after a week the GPU or fan or sensor fried and the GPU was no longer recognized by DXDIAG or Windows, also it failed the onboard video diagnostics after this. Returned.

Get good nerds!

Watch out!

Laptop didn't even boot up no one bothers to check them at all. SSD appeared to be blank, bios showed someone tried to flash and failed! Wanted to exchange for another and they would not, even though they showed a Geek squad certified in stock. Wanted to sell me a new one even though they were on sale for far less when i purchased this one. I may have considered it at the sale price, but now i have to pay full price? Just a rip off at worse buy. Big waste of time, no one working returns, was sent to returns buy the front desk even when i told them it was a return or exchange, was then told had to go back to front desk for an exchange, then get in line for sales in computers, only to be told they wouldn't do anything to help me!

A few bugs with the network connections

It seems to lose internet connection using the WiFi and an RJ45 connector. I'm guessing that a driver will be coming out eventually to fix this problem but not as of today. I love Dell products but I would have to think twice about buying another one of these.

b) Touch or click Troubleshoot problems and then follow the prompts.

Great laptop for my needs
