BEST DARN LAPTOP FOR ANYONE WANTING TO GET INTO PORTABLE GAMING. honestly one of the best investments ive made in a while. and i have never been this satisfied with a laptop before

The performance of this laptop is poor. Similarly equipped competitors models are better. It overheated quickly. The keyboard was so hot it rendered it unusable. We tried two of these. The first one was purchased as used in "exelent condition ". It came without any factory installed programs and drivers, rendering it impossible to use. Also, I discovered that the device tag on the unit didn't match the a actual Dell assigned service tag. This was problematic since warranty service was not available for it. I tried to return it to a local best buy and they would not take it. They made me ship it back to bestbuy.com. 2 weeks laster still no refund. The second brand new one was unusable because of the heat. Returned as well.

Getting used to using a laptop, only had problem with wireless mouse that ceased to work!

Great laptop. Bought for it for a high school student. WiFi stays up and the computer loads very quickly. Very happy. Run Minecraft very well also so that is a plus.

Needs a cooling pad and probably extra storage other than that works really good

If you do a quick google search titled, Dell G7 7700 framerate drops you will find a handful of forum posts full of owners of this laptop or alienware variation and they are all suffering from the same issue. When the system starts to heat up the GPU's voltage is automatically limited. I was playing games (cyberpunk 2077 on Ultra) for approximately 45 minutes at 55 or so FPS and it would instantly drop to 3 or 4 FPS and there was nothing I could do to fix it. The only solution was to let the machine cool down and play at a later time, but at that 45 minute mark, I would have framerate drop almost to the minute. Dell needs to fix this, it has to do with the form factor of the GeForce RTX 2070 max q card. They are a low voltage lite GPU for slim laptops and dell tried to extend battery life by limiting GPU even further at temps over 70c. DO NOT BUY THIS LAPTOP. It may be fixed in the future, but even a used one will not be a gaming machine since you only get about 45 minutes of gaming in a sitting. I am very upset about this, because the laptop on its face looks and feels amazing, but with the framerate issue, it is not a gaming laptop, it is just an internet browser and there is no reason you should spend this kind of money on a product like that.

Fast with what appears to be a quality hinge system. I'm not normally a fan of Dell, but it seems to have the best hinge points compared to Toshiba or HP.

Love my new laptop, I was hesitant at first to buy this dell g7 , but I was not disappointed in the quality and the power of this device.

works very good wish it had more memory, haven't tried any games yet.
