this thing is a power house i upgraded to 32 Gig of ram and 1 TB drive ran tons of game with ease. great value for the money.

This Baby is HOTTTT!!!!!! Not worth $1800, but if you know that it runs hot and have a good game plan in place to fix the thermal problem then it wouldn't be a bad buy around 1k or below. It's a cool laptop design.

Great laptop for working from home and the display is amazing for gaming as well

The Dell G7 is an awesome gaming laptop. It has handled everything I've thrown at it with ease and I have experienced no problems with the G7 thus far. Build quality is good and everything seems solid. Most of the input/output ports are located on the back which I like and you get a USB port on either side along with a headphone jack and SD card slot. Lots of options! The initial set up did take some time. There were a ton of windows updates including a BIOS update. Plan on 1-2 hours to get everything set up. Performance wise the G7 is really good. Of course I had to try Cyberpunk to see how the G7 performed and it did surprisingly well. With Cyberpunk I found medium settings was the sweet spot. I was getting a solid 70-80 FPS and the overall experience was great. Now you could definitely play around with settings to find what you like and still get good performance. High settings still gave me a good 60fps. I also played Destiny 2 on high settings and man is it gorgeous! I got a good 80+ FPS and it was such a pleasure to play. Really impressive. One thing to be aware of is that the G7 gets a bit hot while gaming. CPU temps end up around 90C and the fan obviously gets louder. I did not experience any lagging while gaming or anything indicative of a hardware issue, however. Just please DO NOT actually place this on your lap, pillow, bed etc. while gaming. The Alienware Command Center is great for customizing the back lit keyboard and front light bar. Additionally, you can adjust overclocking, thermals, audio and power settings. It is a good program and will allow you to get the most out of your G7. Overall, I have really enjoyed gaming on the G7. It is very quick and snappy and plays games like a true gaming rig. If you are in the market for a portable gaming PC you can't go wrong with this Dell power house!

This is a great laptop overall. It can easily run all the latest games and can even connect my Vive Cosmos elite VR system. There is one flaw for which I can not in good conscious give this more than 1 star. The function keys. This is marketed as a gaming laptop and most online games have at least the F2 key mapped to some commonly used menue or something. It is not uncommon for a laptop to assign a secondary function to the F2 key. In this case pressing the F2 key activates airplane mode without needing to hold FN. to actually use the F2 key to access an F2 menue in game you must hold FN and press F2. Obviously if you do it wrong you will shut off the internet and have a whole guild mad at you for dc in the middle of a boss fight or something. Ideally a gaming laptop should not have an airplane mode key at all because airplanes have wifi and they encourage you to use it. If you are going to include this key it should be somewhere obscure where it doesnt constantly get pressed on accident or ever.

Although billed as a "gaming" computer, this is a great laptop for my business and personal requirements.

This computer is only recommended if you’re up in the military or traveling a lot but if you’re a student and you work from home or from your dorm it is recommended for you to buy a gaming PC because it’s better for competitive modes and it’s a little cheaper.Personally for this price I think you should consider building your own PC this is very expensive gaming laptop and when I played on it very slow I think you should just maybe wait a little and use the money if you have the money to buy this one to build your own PC but you should consider waiting a little before you make any hasty decisions

Overall excellent but the Alienware Control Center app has problems. No easy consumer fix.

A real work horse. Great Laptop. Boots fast. I am using it with Zbrush and Blender. No lag time.
