Disappointed
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Was working great for the first 3 weeks. Stopped working and ran into battery problems and got it fixed. The customer service agent was very nice and she was also shocked that this new laptop stopped working. Ever since then, I have been running into network problems that have not been fixed. The network drive is not installed at times and this is a continuous problem. Very disappointed as I usually have no problems at all with Dell and this is my first negative review. I feel like I have wasted a lot of money and time and have not been able to get a refund or replacement. I was really looking forward to this laptop.

Beware of Open box
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Buyer Beware of purchasing an open box item. My son needed a 16gb ram laptop . This laptop was on sale for 799.00 but we went for the open box laptop for 709.00. After 12 days he had trouble with touch pad mouse., so we immediately returned the laptop for the same laptop but not an open box. Because the sale was over we had to pay full price which I felt was very unfair since the Geek Squad did not catch the problem with this laptop. I will never purchase an open box item again. Otherwise we are very happy with this computer!

Posted .Hello Ladyjune33050,
We are sorry to hear that your Inspiron is not quite meeting expectations and apologize for the inconvenience. We suggest performing diagnostics to determine what may be causing the issue. Provided below are instructions to do so.
1. If the computer is displaying the Dell logo and does not move past that point, it has probably failed POST.
2. If the power indicator lights up and it is amber or orange, this is usually an indicator that it has failed POST.
3. If you see text on a black screen, the computer is currently performing the POST. If the computer stays in that condition and does not move past it, it has probably failed POST.
4. If the video screen displayed anything at all during the startup process but is now black, this probably indicates that the computer failed POST.
5. If the computer is beeping or if Caps/Num/Scroll Locks are flashing, note if there is a particular pattern in which it beeps or flashes.
6. If the computer is not beeping and caps/num/scroll locks are not flashing, unplug all connections and remove all media communication devices (e.g. external monitors); reconnect one at a time and check if the computer functions.
7. For a notebook, press and hold the Fn key and then press the power button. This starts the pre-boot testing and will launch ePSA. In case you have a Desktop at the Dell logo screen tap the F12 key to enter One Time Boot Menu and use the arrow keys to highlight Diagnostics and press enter.

Dell is trash, don’t buy it
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Don’t buy it. It’s a trash. My computer have 6 months and just gave me nightmares. If you need Dell service you better sit or buy a different computer. After a lot calls to them I finally have a technician in my house how told me after most 2 months, they are going to send me a box to put the computer and mail to them. Don’t expect to have a computer to use if you buy Dell. Better try the library when the pandemic finished or use your phone. I expended $800 in this trash.

Geek squad missed this?
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Nothing more upsetting then bringing home your new laptop only to find out it will not turn on. How does this happen if it is an open box Geek Squad approved device? What does that say about geek squad if they vouch for a device that cannot even power on. There is likely no more open box laptops available like this Dell, so basically I lent Best Buy 1,000 and will get nothing out of it except aggravation and wasted time.

Impressed with laptop build and performance
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have to say I’m impressed with the overall build quality of this laptop. I like the gray/brownish color looks really sleek. Its something you have to see in the stores to appreciate it. Overall performance is solid. I am able to open multiple programs and videos without any issues. Its what you should expect from a new laptop. Great laptop for a student and working professional. One drawback, it does get hot on the bottom after a few minute of normal usage. I can get uncomfortable if your using it on your lap.

Faster Fancy Little Dell Laptop
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been using a 17 inch Dell laptop since 2012 that is really showing its age. Needed something a little smaller and more portable now that I work both at home and in the office. 14 inches seemed about as small as this Senior could work with and this model has a 2 in 1 touchscreen that you can fold into 4 different modes: Notebook, Tablet, Stand and Tent. (See side by side comparison photo). Sandstorm color shell. Backlit QWERTY keyboard is a great feature for working in various lighting situations. I have not added a mouse yet but plan to since I've never been a fan of touchpads. It has good response and you can click right and left easily. Too compact to have a 10 key numeric pad but since I'm not sitting doing data entry the number row does the job. Just takes me back to the days of using a typewriter! Super fast startup with 512 GB SSD and AMD Ryzen 7 - 16 GB Memory. Comes with Windows 10 installed. I removed the free security software trial and installed a license of my Norton Symantec 360. Lots of ports on the side for USB 3.2 Gen 1, HDMI, USB 3.2 Gen 1 (Type-C) port/Display port and one SD card slot. Power light is hidden on the left side next to the port for the power cord and turns off once fully charged. I haven't tried to run down the battery yet to see how long it will last. Even has a fingerprint reader option next to the power button. Built-in camera with a status light that turns on when in use and a privacy shutter you can slide shut and a left and right microphone for the those endless online meetings. Headset port with great sound quality although the speakers underneath the PC on the left and right work well. Dual band Wi-Fi plus Bluetooth. Bright Full High Definition glossy screen when plugged in that dims down when on battery power. I have streamed a few movies on the major services and the picture and sound quality are really good. My laptop is also one of the few ways I can watch HBO MAX. Connects to my printers seamlessly for the occasions when I still need to print. Lots of Dell updates and service apps preinstalled. There is a learning curve with all the bells and whistles on this model but I really like it. Next time I am ready for a new big screen model for home use I will try to find one similar to this Dell in a 17 inch screen.
