So far this computer has met all expectations. Purchased for my daughter for college so hasnt used yet for that purpose but has performed well for everyday use so far. Love the fact that it is touch screen and can be used as a tablet as well.

On December 7, 2015, Dell published an Intel update for the wifi adapter in this machine. I purchased mine on Dec. 13 for $649 and, after logging in to my wifi router OK during the Windows 10 setup it would not see the Intel Wireless-AC 3165 adapter (in Device Manager), let alone see any wifi networks. Just as some of the reviewers below had reported. However, I do have a USB wired gigabit network adapter and plugged into my router with it. I was able to get to Dell.com and download the new Intel driver which evidently tells the Windows Registry about the wifi adapter so it is recognized from then on. Install is silent/in the background, so I rebooted afterwards to make sure it was installed. And, sure enough, I then had wifi with no other problems. It logged into the wireless AC 5Ghz channel on my router. From a room one floor below and one over from the router, Speedtest.net reported a download speed of 83Mbps, which is about as good as you can expect from wifi! Problem solved? If you don't have a USB network adapter, don't leave the store until the Geek Squad downloads and installs the correct driver for you. Point them to this review if necessary. The keyboard is a strong point. I have owned Dell laptops for 20 years or so, and they usually have my favorite keyboards. I'm not a fan of the trackpad, which has a scratchy feel to it (intentionally, no doubt), but I prefer a smooth surface like a Macbook. Other than that, I think it may work for my needs. Seems speedy enough. I will now be returning the HP Spectre 360 2-in-1 I bought last week. It has lots of unresolved wifi problems, a huge trackpad that I always seem to be touching accidentally (jumpy cursor), and it gets really hot on the bottom when on your lap. Plus it cost $250 more. (But you get an I7 and 128 more GB of storage for your $999).

I purchased not one, but two of the Dell Inspirion laptops from BestBuy. The first laptop lasted 3 weeks. During the 4th week, the system crashed 3 times. I was grateful I had purchased Geek Squad Support along with the laptop. The Geek Squad agreed the system was a "lemon" and I should get a new one. So, I returned the first Inspirion and got a replacement for the exact same product. I brought it home and upon booting up the laptop, I could see vertical lines across the LCD Screen. I called Dell Support and after remote diagnostics they said the LCD hardware was broken and I needed to ship to them and they would send a new one. Instead I went to Best Buy and got a full refund as I only owned the machine 1 day! I looked at other PCs and found an HP Envy that I eventually purchased thru Amazon as BestBuy would not match their price(which was $175 less). I was annoyed that the sales rep told me that I could not buy the Geek Squad support from them as they only support products purchased thru Best Buy. I have since learned this was not true.

Love this item. Does it all. And, it's WINDOWS! Better than iOS.
