I purchased this computer to use for school. So far it has been great. It is fast and has great screen resolution. The touch screen feature works very well. I have only used it in tablet mode once but it worked fine. Great computer at a great value!

This turned out to be a great product and falls right in place where it's versatility and portability make for easy convenient use for someone who has limited space yet can utilize this machine at full capacity.

    Very disappointed...

We bought not one but two of these laptops as an after Christmas treat for ourselves. Like so many other reviews (which I wish I had read ahead of time), we could not get the WiFi to stay connected. After spending 4 HOURS on the phone with Dell support, and still no fix in sight, we are returning these laptops. Don't waste your time on this one...

    Wifi problems.

On third trip to geek squad. Wifi problems galore. No happy at all. No other devices having a wifi problem. Just this one. Geek squad has been great to work with. Make sure you schedule an appointment though. Too much time spent on this product. Dell needs to figure out a fix for the ac wireless adapter.

I purchased this for a friend after I bought the i7. It's perfect for what she needs, school and basic streaming of Netflix. I really enjoy the hinged keyboard so I can flip quickly between tablet mode and laptop. The only issue, if you can call it that, is the size. The screen is a little too large to truly be considered a tablet, but it works great for us.

Defective touchscreen - Dell service unresponsive

Bought the laptop for my daughter for school. After 3 weeks the touchscreen stopped working. Contacted Dell online support a week ago. To this date my ticket hasn't been assigned. No response from Dell whatsoever. Took the computer to the geek squad. They found a driver issue but would need to keep the computer for around a week to diagnose and fix. We'll need to wait until spring break since my daughter needs the computer on a daily basis.

Boot Slow and Dell poor Customer support

Slow booting and after 2 months use, Wireless driver missing. Called Dell customer and they wanted $100 for software support of the missing driver. Reason is only hardware warranty, no software. No ethernet wire connector, so NO connection to get your driver. Be aware Dell CS is not used to be the way it was. It sounded like an outside contractor trying to milk you. Connected to basic support but gave up too long wait w/o any promise. No consideration for 2 moths new laptop.

    Worst computer I've ever owned

    Posted .

I decided to try going the cheaper route and purchased a PC vs Apple laptop. What a mistake. You get what you pay for. Anyway, here's a list of my complaints. (Please note, I just want a computer that stores and organizes my pictures, download music on iTunes and connects to the internet to browse, shop & pay bills over the web as well as use Word & Excel....So, nothing too extravagant.) First, the cursor jumps uncontrollably when I try to type, so all of a sudden, I find it in the beginning of the sentence vs where it's suppose to be while typing or the page will shift up or down. The touchpad sucks as bad as trying to type. Sometimes it's ultra sensitive other time you have to bang on it to get it to open a page. Second, sound is intermittent. One minute, I have sound for a youtube video, an hour later, I might not for another video...without turning it on or off or re-booting. Oh yeah, forget listening to any of your iTunes music on the computer. That NEVER works. Third, it has trouble connecting to the internet even though my work phone & iphone, apple tv are connected. Fourth, The function keys at the top just stopped working one day. When you push on them, it brings up some computer code instead of increasing/decreasing volume (which hardly works anyway) or something as simple as increasing the lighting of the screen or dimming it. Fifth & the most outrageously annoying aspect...when I downloaded my photos all of from my apple mac pro to this piece of garbage, the photos are a hot disorganized, duplicated mess!!! It drives me crazy. Even from my iphone, this happens. Hands down worst purchase ever. I bought this dumb thing a year ago and decided to write a review, because I'm fed up with dealing with all of it's issues and am now shopping for another mac book pro. So done with this stupid thing!!! I sware it has a mind of its own, as it never works the way I want it to. Complete & utter waste of money. I will never by a Dell again.

I have spent hours today searching solutions to this issue which includes network adapter problems. Kids were super excited when they open them this morning, but are upset that their major gift has been useles all day. Seems everyone has this issue and I have tried all recommended solutions. First thing tomorrow they are going back to the store.

I purchased this laptop for my husband for Christmas. It had a hardware problem (wifi would not stay turned on) so we exchanged it. The replacement had the same problem. When we return the second one, the Best Buy customer service rep said many people were returning it for the same reason.

    Work Horse

I needed a lap top that was small, flexible and with all of the functions of a desk top. Got it in this model! I have two complaints: 1) the on/off button is recessed and hard to press. 2) for my set up, it would have been better if the power plug in was either on the back or on the right hand side. Otherwise great buy.

I was unable to connect to then internet upon initial start up. After restarting, I was able to connect for about 30 seconds, then disconnected once again. I've never had to return a laptop the same day. I'm so disappointed.

This is a great dell product. I bought for my daughter for her 8th birthday. It is quite intuitive for kids to use. Now we use it for some of her school work.

    Defective and Stuck with it...

The laptop randomly freezes, with no response from the keyboard or mouse. I'm forced to power it on/off again. I wiped and reinstalled a clean Windows installation, but the problem still persists. Sometimes it will freeze after 5 minutes of use, sometimes hours. I have not been able to determine the underlying cause, and the event logs offer no clues, which leads me to believe the problem is hardware-related. Dell offers no support, classifying the problem as software related, without even having looked the laptop or asking one followup question. I will never buy a DELL ever again. Just cross your fingers you don't get the defective one. I spent the money and I'm stuck with it. Thanks for NOTHING DELL.

    Buyer Beware

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I purchased this laptop to give presentations. Quick summary: 1) the power button worked only occasionally. 2) when it worked, PowerPoint would freeze constantly including 5 minutes into my presentation in front of 100 people. 3) whenever Dell apps "wanted to be downloaded" the laptop literally stopped functioning and created loud sounds in mid presentation even after I turned off auto downloads. I traded it in for a MacBook and I now wonder why I waited so long. Dell isn't what it used to be! Apple rules! Best Buy was great throughout and made the exchange easy.
